@otherwise1000 im not sure but isn't it like up to the fighters to decide on the rule sometimes? cuz i seen k1 n they dont use elbows but look at buakaw vs johmod idk why johmod used elbows like twice haha
Buakaw and Yodslankai are fighting in December!!! My Muay Instructor told me. I can't wait to see them fight. My instructor was a champion from Thailand...Kru Rex is his name. I can't wait to see them fight. As both are my two favorite Thai fighters!
@RegistrationCop i think that would be cool, but did you watch the 2 fights he fought for the k1 champ belt?? he fought two sweet fighters and none on those hit him properly
Born as Gevorg Petrosyan in Yerevan, Armenia, Giorgio started to train Muay Thai at the age of 14 when he moved to Italy. He lives in Gorizia, Italy and trains at Satori Gladiatorium Nemesis gym under the guidance of Alfio Romanut. He had his first fight at the age of 16.
when you fight at the level Buakaw does, for as long as he has, then fights a guy like Retro, it's easy(ish) to loose your title because that guy makes you not look as dominating as you normaly would. That "plan" you have going into every fight gets weak in the knees when you get punched in the nose and kicked in the legs. Great fight, two wonderful fighters.
they did, i think in the third round, buakaw was stunned for a second, but hes got great conditioning so his recovery is fast, but he was definitely stunned. besides that when nobody's really landing anything substantial, then who ever lands more often gets the round
@jvang714 well mostly its buakaw who initiate the clinches, and most of the time Petro is the one using most energy to keep buakaw of overwhelming him or to push him back! You can clearly see how relaxed buakaw is in clinch.
No argument there, I agree with you. But still, I don't think any Muay Thai fighter will put Buakaw to shame. It's one thing to underestimate Buakaw, but underestimating the K1-MAX would be a mistake. Remember that A. Souwer gave Yodsanklai a serious fighting lesson.
@smirn0w Thai boxing and Muay Thai is the same thing, this is Just Modified rules, No elbows is the only difference, I like elbows but I know it stops the fights early sometimes, some folks like to see ppl go at it for a while, taking out the elbows makes it more probable.
Anyone notice how the little exchange between Buakaw and Gevorg after the fight? Buakaw tries to pat Gevorg on the back and Gevorg seems to brush him off and say something while making negative gestures. Gevorg seemed pissed off during some of the tumbles during the fight too..
@morenochulo86 the literal translation of Muay means the word boxing, this was not ment to be a seperate style, Muay Thai is translated to Thai boxing.. Now if in other countries people desided to make based on language then thats backwards.. you are saying the same shyt in a different language, Muay Thai thais language to their art, the English translation is Thai boxing. I know the thais fight way less rules then foreigners but the translation still holds to be the same.
True, true. But he didnt use much of his left lead leg kicks, which throw alot of his opponents off. But then again, he's fighting a south-paw. A re-match would be coming soon.
Buakaw fans know that Petrosian can't beat Buakaw! Masato and Buakaw is GREAT fight and NO one can top that. Buakaw and Masato is exciting fight! K1 will never be the same with out Masato or Buakaw! Santo and Buakaw is another good fight, but I feel sorry for Santo because he get the shit beat out of him, but Santo have BIGGEST heart. Buakaw #1. I hope Masato come back to K1 again. Peace!!!
@TheDrakulino Maybe but his style is too calculated I believe. There are a lot of dangerous weapon in muay thai such as flying knee, spinning kick and elbow but he doesn't the risk to use them probably because of his style too calculated...
I think Buakaw edged him because of the first three rounds. The last two could've been called draws or slightly in Pertrosyan's favor, but I think it's pretty clear Buakaw should've taken the decision.
When Buakaw fought Jomhod, he had been out of Thai boxing matches for 4 years. It's been 3 years since he fought Jomhod and wiped the floor with him. Everyone who knows Buakaw, knows he is best when fighting with Thai Boxing rules. If you think otherwise, I'd suggest you'd do some research on Buakaw.
@jvang714 oh cmon, buakaw isnt outstriking him Petrosyan is very comfortable trading strikes with Buakaw. And it isnt petrosyan alone who initiates the clinch, they both do it
@nadhim69 I agree alittle.. He is fantastic but he should have fun and try some stuff out in the ring once in awhile. Check out his last fight vs Cosmo Alexandre from March 12th 2011 QJCrv5BTJRg
Yod isn't a oldschool nakmuay, he doesn't use the full arsenal of Muay Thai rules. So that's irrelevant. But either way, it's hard to say. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
@Real1stman u have to inform you before speaking man. petrosyan is one of the most powerful kick/thai boxers ever. he has 56 win 2 lose and 2 pair, and he is also k1 champion.
show some respect to a great athlete giorgio petrosyan, that kid from italy has ball to gain the k-1 max in your first attempt isn't an easy thing!!!! He won the competition not only defeated his opponents, and the japanish judges too..... A POWER IS RISING ITS NAME GEORGIO PETROSYAN
@smirn0w @smirn0w Well Globally, Thai boxing and Muaythai is used the same, the english translation of Muay thai is Thai boxing. The word Muay means boxing in thai obviously... I assume in Portugal there is a difference there, but everywhere else its just a play on words. I am not sure if you are brag about your fights just to make it seem that you are correct, that really doesn't make a difference.. I may not have 13 fights but i do have 9 fights with 1 lose. its just Modified rules.
@donfanto1 listen, i didnt say avnything bad about clinching, some guy tried to say that petrosyan was being passive in the clinch. I replyed there's no point in being active in the clinch since it doesnt score points. Thats all. Read what i write before commenting, you wouldnt be the first one who thinks he's some kind of authority becuz he has some ring experience.....
Okay I've watched this fight like 20 times now. How was this a draw? Much respect to Petrosyan, he's an awesome fighter but I feel Buakaw scored a lot better.
@papichulobumber1 oh ok then but u need to understand that real fight has nothing to do with points. and even if they r not scoring any points they still r dealing some damage to their opponents. thats all
Petrosian still have contract with K1 Max? He better than every fighter in K1 now. Before Buakaw get retire, may be re-match in ThaiFight? Coz both of them are real skillful fighter than Masato, Souwer, others....
buakaw is the classic man-machine, but when you get him angry, he looses his cool and 50% of his technique too, it's all about heart and buakaw misses it, at least a bit.
Remember that Yodsanklai gave Souwer an serious fighting lesson , he couldnt speak properly after the fight , because he was so stunned. Souwer lost that fight , so many left kicks to the body. He won easily round 1 & 2 and close round 3 and lost round 4 , but round 4 shouldnt have been there. You could see from a mile away that Yodsanklai has 10 times more skills than Souwer
you must remember that he hasent fought so many big names yet. but ill give you that he is definitly one of the best falangs at the moment. but the top thais will crush him.
You do not have to like Buakaw ( I do not like him cz he is a dirty fighter ) but he is good ! Giorgio is the best combination of speed, precizion punches and good lowkicks and .... he got style !
hahaha, some people talk about martial arts and clearly have no knowledge at all. the match was practically even ,giorgio landed so many straight left, buakaw some more low and mid kicks, last round buakaw was backpedaling, trying to escape petrosyan punches. i never saw noone show this balance against buakaw, and manage to throw him too sometimes. real muay thai expert is petrosyan.
@blackwhirlwind yeah they are both fantastic, but ithink petrosyans reflexes and timing for counter atacks is just a bit better then Buakaw. His boxing skills are better to, more speed in the hands. I think in K1 fighting Petrosyan is a little bit better then Buakaw. But thats my opinion
@TheDrakulino Haha, petrosyan is not the best technical fighter of k-1. But he's so complete with everypart of his body, so people may think he's techincal, but he's trained to throw combos, so it's not his technique that's good. It's his training. Buakaw is taught to be techniqual not throw combos. So he's better techniqual then petrosyan!
@papichulobumber1 lol yoo guys first fight on the ring and then talk plzz. try to fight even 1 round and ull see how tired ull get. they r resting a lil to gather strength for their next moves
Hehe wow wow wow , Souwer didnt have a change too do nothing the first 2 rounds , and how the hell can he win by a huge margin when it went too silly extra rounds? Kicking alone was good enough against Souwer,as i told you before he didnt even know what too say after the fight about the win. K1 rules kicking mean alot less i know , but when Yod doesnt get hit and Souwer does it should count. Souwer won but not for real :O
@otherwise1000 im not sure but isn't it like up to the fighters to decide on the rule sometimes? cuz i seen k1 n they dont use elbows but look at buakaw vs johmod idk why johmod used elbows like twice haha

Both of these guys are my absolutely favorite fighters of all muay thai in this weight class... fucking amazing from both of them... Sick inspiration
when you fight at the level Buakaw does, for as long as he has, then fights a guy like Retro, it's easy(ish) to loose your title because that guy makes you not look as dominating as you normaly would. That "plan" you have going into every fight gets weak in the knees when you get punched in the nose and kicked in the legs. Great fight, two wonderful fighters.
how many times have they fought ?
great fight haven't seen anyone match buakaw so well before..petrosian is an amazing fighter. Great at avoiding punches..
@fedbymum dont think petro ever fought full muay thai rule?
Maan! How did this become a draw? Was this fight in France?
there no elbow rule?
Giorgio Petrosian is my favorite for tonight.
Petrosan aslo is a big name and very great fighter a lot respect for him
@jvang714
Its K1 rules this, there is no point in clinching. It doesnt score, reff says break after 2 seconds. Why should he clinch then?
who won?
petrosyan is good , but buakaw no doubt is great... i dont get the hate feeling?
they did, i think in the third round, buakaw was stunned for a second, but hes got great conditioning so his recovery is fast, but he was definitely stunned. besides that when nobody's really landing anything substantial, then who ever lands more often gets the round

is not important that you do.. but how you do that
@pix00l He`ve done a couple of fights in thailand under full rules, I even quess there`s some of them here on youtube.
Buakaw kept the title.But he didn´t want to protect it the year after that so I think that it was Yodsanklai who took it in a fight with Levin Artem.
Anyone notice how the little exchange between Buakaw and Gevorg after the fight? Buakaw tries to pat Gevorg on the back and Gevorg seems to brush him off and say something while making negative gestures. Gevorg seemed pissed off during some of the tumbles during the fight too..

But Petrosyan get a very very good work with his arms!! That's his strong point!!
@TheDrakulino Maybe but his style is too calculated I believe. There are a lot of dangerous weapon in muay thai such as flying knee, spinning kick and elbow but he doesn't the risk to use them probably because of his style too calculated...
buakaw

@otherwise1000 Yes, I know but this is a muay thai fight (5rounds!).
I am Italian,but we have to recognize that in this fight Buakaw was really superior...
I agree...close fight though!
@jvang714
oh cmon, buakaw isnt outstriking him Petrosyan is very comfortable trading strikes with Buakaw. And it isnt petrosyan alone who initiates the clinch, they both do it
@narekjuu you must´ve been watchin different fight...
@nadhim69 I agree alittle.. He is fantastic but he should have fun and try some stuff out in the ring once in awhile.

But either way, it's hard to say. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
@ichibang15549 I can't even compete anymore...to many knee injuries :(
@Real1stman u have to inform you before speaking man. petrosyan is one of the most powerful kick/thai boxers ever. he has 56 win 2 lose and 2 pair, and he is also k1 champion.
show some respect to a great athlete giorgio petrosyan, that kid from italy has ball to gain the k-1 max in your first attempt isn't an easy thing!!!!

sorry, i forgot mr weather storm the weather kinda cloudy and foggy thats why you couldn't see
@smirn0w @smirn0w Well Globally, Thai boxing and Muaythai is used the same, the english translation of Muay thai is Thai boxing. The word Muay means boxing in thai obviously... Решение судей справедливое! Никто из них не показал превосходства над противником.
Really? He seem to be tired & not enough air!
@donfanto1
listen, i didnt say avnything bad about clinching, some guy tried to say that petrosyan was being passive in the clinch. I replyed there's no point in being active in the clinch since it doesnt score points. Thats all.
Read what i write before commenting, you wouldnt be the first one who thinks he's some kind of authority becuz he has some ring experience.....
@erotagitsaC But you know he is original from Armenia.He only have a italian passport.
Okay I've watched this fight like 20 times now. How was this a draw? Much respect to Petrosyan, he's an awesome fighter but I feel Buakaw scored a lot better.
Hits low very often uses elbow to follow the punch...etc
Good fight! I want 2 c him fight JWP...
@crv26 yes i know
@theacempire You are absolutely right!!!
@papichulobumber1 oh ok then but u need to understand that real fight has nothing to do with points. and even if they r not scoring any points they still r dealing some damage to their opponents. thats all
This is my own opinion but I don`t think that Buakaw dared to face Yodsanklai or Buakaw`s manager didn`t dare.
I think Buakaw didn't turn on his killing mode like what he has done in K-1 MAX.
I want to see this in final 2009
both from muaythai
Petrosian still have contract with K1 Max?
He better than every fighter in K1 now.
Before Buakaw get retire, may be re-match in ThaiFight?
Coz both of them are real skillful fighter than Masato, Souwer, others....
buakaw is the classic man-machine, but when you get him angry, he looses his cool and 50% of his technique too, it's all about heart and buakaw misses it, at least a bit.
definitely Buakaw won this game!!! He is the King, what the shame on the judgets .....
He fought Jomhod with muay thai rules, he knocked Jomhod out without breaking a sweat.
That judges were blind to say it was a draw... Petroysian dominated
yeah think i saw da fight too jwp got k.o if i'm not mistaken too
Remember that Yodsanklai gave Souwer an serious fighting lesson , he couldnt speak properly after the fight , because he was so stunned.
Souwer lost that fight , so many left kicks to the body.
He won easily round 1 & 2 and close round 3 and lost round 4 , but round 4 shouldnt have been there.
You could see from a mile away that Yodsanklai has 10 times more skills than Souwer
buakaw's strikes were harder there for it scores more points...it is not about quantity is about quality and power...
you must remember that he hasent fought so many big names yet.
but ill give you that he is definitly one of the best falangs at the moment.
but the top thais will crush him.
You do not have to like Buakaw ( I do not like him cz he is a dirty fighter ) but he is good ! Giorgio is the best combination of speed, precizion punches and good lowkicks and .... he got style !
@narekjuu
meh
watched the right one
maybe YOU did watch the wrong one
hahaha, some people talk about martial arts and clearly have no knowledge at all. the match was practically even ,giorgio landed so many straight left, buakaw some more low and mid kicks, last round buakaw was backpedaling, trying to escape petrosyan punches. i never saw noone show this balance against buakaw, and manage to throw him too sometimes. real muay thai expert is petrosyan.
clearly you have got no idea who Buakaw is, slagging him of. it was Petrosyans lucky day...
You can pretty much tell Buakaw wasn't giving his 100%.
13 march 2010!!...I'm waiting ;-)!!
grande giorgiooo!!
@blackwhirlwind
yeah they are both fantastic, but ithink petrosyans reflexes and timing for counter atacks is just a bit better then Buakaw. His boxing skills are better to, more speed in the hands. I think in K1 fighting Petrosyan is a little bit better then Buakaw. But thats my opinion
both are great nakmuays..both are winners :)
@papichulobumber1 He clinches, because buakaw is out striking him. Thats why he holds on to buakaw, it will be broken up anyways...
in ur dream ?
@TheDrakulino Haha, petrosyan is not the best technical fighter of k-1. But he's so complete with everypart of his body, so people may think he's techincal, but he's trained to throw combos, so it's not his technique that's good. It's his training. Buakaw is taught to be techniqual not throw combos. So he's better techniqual then petrosyan!
well, his name is GEVORG, they just call him giorgio, wich sounds more fammiliar in italy
Buakaw definitely won, he clearly won the first 3 rounds, manhandled petrosyan nicely
@raissaborci No he shouldnt...He is lucky to have 2 yet alone 3
Elbows aren`t allowed in sweden. =(
Buakaw landed more kicks then Petrosyan threw punches. Not to say how many time Buakaw threw Petrosyan on the ground.
Buakaw WON! No doubt.
@denhwar
or it whas buakaw's lucky day
Petrosyan fenomeno nato !
This was a home crowed win, Buakow won the fight by at least two rounds.
then, welcome to UFC.
era in vantaggio di gran lunga Petrosyan, è che dovevano innalzare a Por Pramuk.....hanno evitato una malafigura a lui.
sounds like by the 3rd round buakaw won.... all he had to do is not get knocked out... its hard enuf to knock him out in round 1....
petrosyian should be in K1 - and then have him vs buakaw in the finals hehee
Buakaw won this particular fight but it was 4 years ago. Petrosyan would beat him now.
thats muay thai technique, punch, elbow, kick/knee.
why is he dirty fighter?
@papichulobumber1 lol yoo guys first fight on the ring and then talk plzz. try to fight even 1 round and ull see how tired ull get. they r resting a lil to gather strength for their next moves
dite quello che volete, ma giorgio ha vinto, solo che è giovane e non potevano dargli il titolo...
PETROSYAN is the GREATEST!!!
i can see that Giorgio Petrosian was a bit better than bukaw at this match..draw,isnt the best descision ,but it is fair enough!
@Kidkod84 It was a draw.
Souwer won but not for real :O
nah this year if they fight it will be by K-1 rules. in K-1 rules buakaw has no chance against petrosyan
agreed
