I read on a name plate of pump, it ia written than npsh = 0.25 meter. What is the meaning of it. I understand that in any pump suction pr at the eye of imperller shall be greater than its vapour pr. and lower than atm.pr. How 0.25 m ask us that it is lower than atm pr. But greater than vapour pr.

By closing discharge valve start the pump and gradually increase speed upto full, and watch the discharge pressure, that pressure is call shut off pressure
