Bailey is “beside himself” with this lil tyke. A joy to watch.
No. NOT a joy. The poor dog is stressed out and is not being comforted and secured.

There are two things in this life that are maybe the best things about it. A baby laughing and a puppy tail wagging uncontrollably 👍❤️
I find babies annoying. Better if they laugh than cry but still, a baby is a baby, it's always annoying.

and the puppy would also prefer to return to his mother. visited - and that's enough.
If you study Baileys behaviour then you will se that he is not excited, but nervous. He has to fight for the owners attention, and she gives it all to the puppy. Bailey constantly tries to get between the puppy and the owner, and she pushes him away laughing. So while others think its cute, I think it's sad. However I'm sure things will settle down and Bailey can feel safe again.

I think he's just a bit overexcited over his new little friend. Understandably thr puppy feels slight overwhelmed by a big dog being so foward with him/her.

You got that right. I see uneasiness when the puppy gets between Bailey and his momma. The barking is also aggressive but holding back because he is well trained and is getting cues from his owners to be accepting and gentle. The owners should have paid more attention to the older dog to let it know not to feel threatened.
The baby is as snow-white as a snowflake 😘, and the big guy is as excited as if he drank an energy drink 😝😁

It's so interesting how the puppy already knows the human is mama even with a grown dog right there. They have been so conditioned to respond to us humans it is very sweet but also shows how we need to protect and look out for them, they are our responsibility

Yes how utterly awful to have that attention and love and now have much of it taken away in a blink and redirected to another dog to us don't know from Adam. Anyone with younger siblings can understand that pain and suffering.

The situation was very contradictory/stressful for the senior golden retriever. At first it was curious sincerely but got in crisis after seeing how the girl cared just the puppy and Bailey started to fear loosing its own position in the family. To make situation safe the girl should have taken care for and hug the Bailey more. Now she just looked at the puppy who became very nervous also.
Every will be cut into half thereafter...

Golden Retrievers are angels. I shared my life with one of these dogs which basically become family. There's not a trace of evil in them. And I will never forget him. And I like to look at old photos and videos and I almost can't believe that such a kind soul was with me, it doesn't seem real. But it will be part of me forever in my heart, just as any other family member. I would never have another dog, but I like watching other people with their dogs, especially videos like these where these dogs are taken in as members of the family. The love can be felt even in video.
