3 of the most talented musicians you will ever see. You have to check out Neil Peart's drum solo. RIP professor. This is an instrumental but the audience is singing along
Good morning and welcome to the Rush Rabbit Hole; we hope you enjoy your stay! Members include Geddy Lee on lead vocals, bass guitar and keyboards; Alex Lifeson on lead guitar; and the late, great Neil Peart, AKA The Professor, AKA "your favourite drummer's favourite drummer, " on percussion and as theircmain lyricist starting with their second album. Neil's and Geddy's opening patterns here are YYZ in Morse Code (--.- --.- --..), which is what they heard as Alex, who's a licensed pilot, was flying them home for the weekend from Le Studio in Morin Heights, Quebec, where they were recording Moving Pictures, the album that YYZ comes from; on subsequent tours, whenever they saw YYZ on their luggage tags, they knew that they were heading home to their families. If you'd like to see more of the best from these three musical geniuses, here are a few suggestions: Tom Sawyer, official music video Limelight, official music video Xanadu, Exit Stage Left Freewill, Exit Stage Left Best Intro Ever/The Spirit Of Radio, R30 Tour Live In Frankfurt Drum Solo, R30 Tour La Villa Strangiato/Working Man, Time Machine Tour 🎤 🎹 🎸 🥁 🎸 🔥 🔥 🔥
Great reaction Justin!!! Rush is absolutely the best 3-piece band ever (quite frankly top five best band ever). Pure musicianship and artistry in each of them and their instruments along with the pure chemistry between them. Welcome aboard the Rush Train!!! I would suggest the songs below to add to your Rush journey and reactions. All of these are fire!!! - Working Man... Live in Cleveland from 2011 Time Machine Tour (original studio version was in 1974)...The pure sight and performance of three men in their upper 50's take control of the stage and perform and play like they were in their 20's. - Xanadu...Live version 1981 Exit Stage Left tour...will leave you speechless from pure musicianship...original was 1977. - Tom Sawyer - studio version 1981. Geddy's voice was remarkable!!!! A good live version would be from the 1981 Exit Stage Left tour (younger days) or Live in Cleveland from 2011 (older days) - La Villa Strangiato - Live in Cleveland from 2011 Time Machine Tour (Instrumental - custom "carnival" intro) - original was 1978. Pure musicianship!!! Best Instrumental ever!!! - Limelight - studio version 1981. - Best Intro Ever - Live version (R30 tour 2004) - various riffs from their 1970's songs leading into Spirit of Radio - original was 1980 - Closer to the Heart (Live 1998 Different Stages) - original was 1977 - Limelight...studio version - original was 1981. - The Garden (Clockwork Angels tour live) - original was 2012 - Subdivisions...studio version or live version - original was 1982 - Freewill... Live in Cleveland from 2011 Time Machine Tour - original was 1980 - Fly by Night - original was 1975 - Leave that Thing Alone - Live in Cleveland from 2011 Time Machine Tour (Instrumental) - original was 1993 - Malignant Narcissism and Drum Solo - Live 2008 Snakes and Arrows Tour - original was 2007 - Also...Neil Peart's Drum Solo Live from Frankfurt 2004. He was The Professor...a pure musician and percussionist...not just a "drummer". Be ready to be amazed by not just his hand coordination...but most of all his foot coordination...basically his feet being completely individual in timing from his hands during segments of this performance. He was the master of this technique.

Alex Lifeson the guitarist is also a licensed pilot and was flying them back to Toronto when Geddy Lee (Bass, Keyboards, Vocals) and Neil Peart ( drums, percussion and main lyrist) heard the indicator code come on it stuck with them. The guys always liked seeing YYZ on their luggage as it meant they were heading home to their families. Other Songs Working man live in Cleveland Xanada from Exit Stage Left Natural Science from the Molson Amphitheatre Toronto Digital Man from the Snakes and Arrows tour. Cheers 🇨🇦
You need to see the Best Live Performance of all time RUSH - Xanadu - Live In Montreal 1981 (2021 HD Remaster 60fps) Alex Lifeson - 6 string guitar, 12 string guitar, pedal synthesizer, volume pedal; Geddy Lee - Vocals, bass guitar, 6 string guitar, foot pedal synthesizer, electric piano/synthesizer; Neil Peart - Lyrics, Drums, orchestra bells, tubular bells, wind chimes, crotales, timbales, timpani, gong, temple blocks, bell tree, triangle, and melodic cowbells. Based on Kubla Khan (Xanadu) by Samuel Taylor Coleridge Coleridge composed his poem, ‘Kubla Khan’, in a state of semi-conscious trance either in the autumn of 1797 or the spring of 1798 and published in 1816. The whole poem is pervaded by an atmosphere of dream and remains in the form of a vision. The vision embodied in Kubla Khan was inspired by the perusal of the travel book, Purchas His Pilgrimage. Coleridge had taken a dose of opium as an anodyne, and his eyes closed upon the line in the book, “At Zanadu Kubla Khan built a pleasure palace.” But this opened his creative vision, and the poem of about 200 lines was composed in this state of waking dream. On being fully awake, he wrote the poem down. The theme of the poem is unimportant. It describes the palace built by Kubla Khan, the grandson of Chengis Khan, the great rule of central Asia. ruclips.net/video/2byjJkN_nVY/видео.html
Yes - it's an instrumental, and a damn good one! YYZ is a long time Rush fan favorite, which is part of why the crowd is going so ham over hearing it played live. Also, this was the first time that Rush had ever toured South America, and found that they had a HUGE fan base there, which they previously didn't even know about. Rio made damn sure that Rush was feeling the love that night!

The concert in Rio was something special. They played to 40,000 fans that night, and the concert was recorded for a DVD. Amazingly, they had 60,000 in São Paulo the night before! These 2002 shows were the first time they had ever been to Brazil, so fans there had been waiting almost 30 years to see them. And you gotta hand it to our southern brothers and sisters - they know how rock out at a concert! Ever head an audience sing along with an instrumental? Check out Working Man live from Cleveland 2011. Another performance where the bring down the house - and this one has words, lol. Cheers!
Excellent reaction to this song. You might try Tom Sawyer music video next, it one of their most popular songs and probably something you may have heard.

40+ years of incomparable musicianship, the holy trinity of prog metal and imo the best band ever especially live. 😊
All instrumental

Excellent reaction to this song. You might try Tom Sawyer music video next, it one of their most popular songs and probably something you may have heard.
Check out La Villa strangiato but definitely do live it's another awesome instrumental
Believe it or not, the concert they played the night before in Sao Paulo had 50% MORE people than this Rio crowd!
Best song about Toronto’s airport ever.
And if you have ever arrived here, you can understand it.
Rush gets the crowd singing to an insturmental
Amazing energy Masters at work
If you listen, the people are singing the tune that the musicians are playing.
The crowd singing a song with no lyrics...🤨
Try “working man” , live in Cleveland
