- In this video I'll show you the making of my new routertable, my old one was just a temporary solution and made it's job.
As router I use my Festool OF1400 and because of the matching built the table out of other Festool accessories I had laying around.

Nice video and some excellent ideas. I had not thought of using the guide stop to stabilize the router on the MFS - good idea. I was glad to finally see you use some eye protection. My wife works at an eye clinic and tells me horror stories of people coming in with debris, metal, nails, etc. stuck in their eyes. You would be shocked at how often this happens, even in a small town.

Good video! Hope you don't mind to mention. Make a habit to clamp down work piece when you drilling with a large diameter. When you drilled that aluminium plate was an unnecessary risk as the drill could be stuck and turn plate info your chest, neck. You are a very talented young man. Be safe.
You made a good job of that, I've not seen if you got a router lift but you could use the Festool one. If you go on the Festool spare parts sit and put in the part no 493819 all the bits would cost you less than 50 euro, I'm sure you could adapt it to fit your plate.

Super table ! A creative adaption cleverly done!
I like the fence with a few flaws, you can't use the metal fence with 1/2 the profile of a route bit out of its side without a wood backup on it or you will damage your fence or the router bit, Now you could either use a piece of PVC plastic or wood fence cover, you could als braket them to the top but doing so will make you remove the stops, adding a T track on top will give them back. And your still now using a vacume at the cutter so dust will be a problem.
While you're at it a T slot over the front would be nice for end grain work on narrow stock, or
Like your table saw a sliding table you drop on the frame. Now where will you keep your bits and tools you use on the router table?
Don't get me wrong I like the table, bt its not that stable, it seems kind of wobbly.
Oh and a tip for drilling or using a hole saw in Any metal CLAMP IT DOWN, if the bit grabs it it will take your arm off. Also never fail your arms next to a running machine never reach in when its running als put the safety glasses on before yo touch the power switch.
Why do I say this because even with safety glasses on I got metal saving in my right eye working in a machine shop running a 4" body grinder, or in metric 101.6 mm hand held grinding disk. So wha Lift did you opt for?
FIY: when filming pay attention to the work, not the camera I don't want to see you get hurt. We do and do not care if we can see it what we don't wanna see is body parts flying and blood splatter, this isn't a horror movie. This goes for anyone filming to post on youtube. Work first, camra second. You can edit the film, you can't edit your arm!
Other then all the bitching, nice job, also I like Festool tools, its just they cost a lot of money over here in the USA. The router template tool alone was nice well thought out design.
I bought a Jessem router lift I don't think it would work with festool routers IDK I don't own one.
This is cool!! I like how you used the Kapex parts to come up with an awesome fence design! The only thing i see is there is no hole for dust extraction from the top side, but that isn't always necessary, depending on your type of routing tasks. Like the channel!

I try to figure out how i will handle the dust collection as soon as i install the propper routerlift, till than the only way is the vacuum cleaner connector on the OF 1400 underneath!
Great job. The material you used for the router table is called Buffalo board in the UK(Ply faced with Phenolic resin), it is extremely durable and provides a nice low
friction surface for a router table.

Thank you for your support, the term "buffalo board" sounds funny, for the new router table mk2 I used birch plywood and sanded it fine, also gives a nice smooth surface. ;)
nice shop.. and good video Brother.. I like using poly glass or lexan for my router plate...its an nice set up you have and looks productive...God Bless my Brother
A very good video and the router table looks great! Nice job. I don't know if they make them for the small MFT table but I bought a set of Festool cross braces for for my MFT/3 table and it is very stable now.
And your English was just fine. I am looking forward to watching more of your video's.

Outstanding job and idea! I loved the video. Very good woodwork and video work. I built my first few router tables and then I got tired of pulling the routers through the table and getting on my knees to adjust them. A few years ago I bought the Jessem Mast-R-Lift with the crank handle coming out on the side of the table, and the phenolic top and just love it. If I ever purchase a kapex and a stand, I may have to revisit your video here. Great job?

Actually I have several router lifts in mind, but never came across to buy one. Maybe it'll be a Jessem or a Sauter, or a completely different one. We'll see, there'll be a update video as I mount it. ;)
Nice job, if it was me I would go out and buy an INCRA LS-17 Router Fence as it will give you metric accuracy and dust collection..

Yeah i've seen the INCRA fences and the routerlift, looking very awesome ;), but also very expensive, at least here in europe. But maybe one of those days .... :).
*Spoiler allert* I have plans for an extended fence for this design, the matching video will come in a few weeks, at least thats the plan.

Yes that is a live view remote for my cam, is pretty usefull for recording, just check your bracelet and see what's up! ;)
Use wood in front for sacrificial fence so you could make zero clearance

The router template is made from Festool and is called MFS, there are 2 different sizes available, the MFS 700 and the MFS 400, with 700 or 400 mm length. ;)

Hmmm, my mft shakes just like yours.i really dislike that.the table is so over priced. I may make a small square router table, but watching i see even the small mft wiggles around.

bereits im ersten Lehrjahr lernt man, das man KEINE Handschuhe bei sich drehenden Maschinen anziehen darf!!!
Jup... und mit Neurodermitis lernt man, dass man Handschuhe braucht damit einem die Teile nicht aus den trockenen Händen rutschen. Hab die Handschuhe nicht ganz freiwillig an, geht leider nicht anders! ;)
WeaselWood dann solltest du in deinen videos erwähnen, das du es nicht freiwillig an hast, musst ja nicht ins detail gehn, aber viele leite schaun die videos an und machen es genau nach und das unfallrisiko ist einfach viel zu hoch. erst vor vier wochen hat sich bei uns in der arbeit einer die hand so dermaßen verunstaltet, das man gar nicht hinsehn konnte, weil er beim bohren handschuhe anhatte, kann dir gern ein foto schicken. von daher solltest du auf so ein wichtiges sichereitsthema eingehn und nicht einfach ein video drehn
Selcuk Bugan, bereits im Mutterbauch habe ich Anstand gelernt, mit der Muttermilch habe ich aufgesogen, dass mich nicht alles was angeht und das Leben hat mich gelehrt, dass ich andere nicht belehren soll. Eine Frage: Wie alt bist Du ;-)
