Riding in San Francisco: as dangerous as they say?

- There's a lot of discussion about the current state of San Francisco, so I decided to take the XSR 900 for a spin around the block to see things for myself. I must say that San Francisco is still what it was before, at least from a Swedish tourist's perspective! Hope you enjoy this video!

I grew up in SF and learned to ride there. Love riding in the city. I used to be on my way to classes in community college and just decide nope I’m cutting and just go random riding around the city

I used to work downtown and would daily ride from east Oakland which took about 15 minutes. It usually wasn't too bad, but there were definitely a few close calls with other drivers. Awesome video, brought back hella good memories

I take the great highway along ocean beach often, it has timed lights. I hate it when someone goes fast, so needs to stop at a red, then everyone behind needs to wait while they accelerate form a stop. If you want to go fast, just run the red light, don't make everyone else stop because you don't know how to go at a steady pace to go with the timed lights. When others in front of me do this, I just accelerate between lights and run the next red light so I don't need to deal with them anymore.

Being from the bay and a rider myself, i’d rly never ride to the city. Especially because of the super steep areas, i feel it’s a recipe for disaster on 2 wheels. But great video dawg 🤝🏾

What is so difficult about "steep areas"? Do you mean as a cyclist? If you are powered, it's better on a motorcycle, as it does take much power vs a car to deal with hills. If you are a newbie, it's about time you get some more practice, hills are good for that.

Such a great place to own a motorcycle. I wouldn’t recommend owning a car in the Bay Area unless you have children to be honest.
I take my daughter to school in SF on a motorcycle, saves time and is fun.

@@kushpaladin the ones from Montgomery to 16th are rough, but that's kind of to be expected. Public transit is how you get around if you're sleeping on the street. What's crazy is we could solve homelessness within a year if we put the proper resources into it
You can get a map to avoid the turds. Avoid the tenderloin and other central areas and you can avoid. Coast and the avenues.
