Hindutva ideology started as a reaction to growing Islamism in the subcontinent, and to unite Hindus, to defend themselves against radical Muslims.
Indians wanted true secularism without appeasing Islamic radicals, which Congress failed at.
And Modi didn't come to power in 2014, by promising Hindu Rastra, but promising to fix joblessness and high inflation, and safety from terror attacks. He fixed inflation, provided safety from terrorism, but has been struggling with job creation.

As a Muslim citizen of Bangladesh, Hindus and all other religious practitioners are our brothers and sisters as well. Please don't generalize the incidents made by a very minor part of political and blind Muslims. We are ashamed of them. Alongside, a lot of Madrasa students including Mosque staff, and general Muslims also played a role in protecting Mondirs all over the country overnight. We are hopeful of proving ourselves as a truly friendly neighbor and expect the same from the Indian administration as well as the people. Peace and love from Bangladesh.

Very appropriate message indeed from a wise politician - unlike arrogant comments & attitude from Modi govt. representatives. They must remember that Bangladesh is not one of the states of India - but an independent sovereign state. And that Sk. Hasina has fled who Modi used to take undue numerous concession from Bangladesh in return for nothing but to helping Hasina stay illegally in power for long 15+ years!

I am so convinced about your assessment on Bangladesh and its people, this is how the
politicians and educated people should talk. We can assure from the situations that
of course it is not a fanatics’ uprising, they never been so popular to the whole student
population, as citizen of the country they have every right to participate in politics
though. Anti Bangladeshi propaganda is in it’s pick at the moment but reality is,
Hindus are not new to us, over the centuries we are living-together but in crisis
some invisible elements try to destroy our reputation within our different communities
specially with Hindus just because to bag up some more benefits, but not with
Christians or Buddhists, among all Indian politicians I personally love
to understand your thinking in comparison to other impatient politicians.
I hope you will be more successful in your political life in the days to come.
I red a lot of comments which are very cool on your good behavioral integrity
In commenting on others’ affairs, thank you gentleman.

First and foremost, India must recognize that its relationship over the past 17 years has primarily been with Sheikh Hasina. This has generated widespread resentment towards India among the Bangladeshi populace. India's actions have undermined Bangladesh's democracy and contributed to the rise of Sheikh Hasina's authoritarian rule.

    • @nondescripthuman

Same here. We Bangladeshi people need a friendly neighbour not a boss and a looter who kills people at the borders. India never wanted to be friends with the people of Bangladesh. They created a monster a ruthless dictator Hasina who served their interests. Let’s not forget about water sharing. I can go on Mr Shahi.

But there is no point. We pray that Bangladesh rises from this chaos and doesn't fall like Libya. Only a peaceful, prosperous BD ruled by a rationalist govt is in India's interest.

Since America is the instigator and benefactor of this military coup, the real issue is whether or not Bangladesh will give military bases to America.
In other words, there's an inherent contradiction in the goals of the Islamists of Bangladesh (Army & civil society) when it comes to the question of Israel and America. India needs to take note of this contradiction while dealing with the powerholders in Bangladesh.
America 🇺🇸 would 'WELCOME' an Islamist puppet regime (civilian Mohammad Yunus and the Army) in Bangladesh to further its interests. Meanwhile, Mohammad Yunus' Nobel Prize is tainted with the blood of innocent victims now.

    Mass uprising in Bangladesh.
    05-08-2024
Bangladesh has witnessed a new historical moment in its own history.
A new revolution has touched Bangladesh.
A call to all Bangladeshi citizens in the changing situation-
Protect the temples, churches, pagodas and mosques of Bangladesh from the miscreants and defeatist forces who are trying to destroy the revolution.
Security should be provided to minorities and tribals in joint co-ordination of common students and security forces.
Remember This revolution is for all of us.
Regardless of religion, caste, gender, age, class, profession, political identity, individual's own ideals, everyone will be treated with respect as a human being and a Bangladeshi citizen.
    Revolutionary Students of Bangladesh-
Not at all vindictive and tyrannical.
We want a liberal democratic state for all people.
independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, national security of Bangladesh should be achieved and protected.
All forms of anarchy, vandalism, looting, violence must be stopped immediately.
Peace and harmony will be our main goal.
Request to all not to be confused.
May Allah have mercy on us.
    Long live the revolution.
    Long live Bangladesh.
