something i noticed is how everyone who tries genshin on steam deck is either a new player or someone on an alt. i mean i don't know that for sure but it's always like people are right at the start of the game, or only in the first area to avoid losing their account of hundreds or more hours. makes sense. but i wouldn't call this safe. if only it was on steam and they'd work with valve on the anticheat problem honkai impact isn't even compatible on deck, and i wouldn't risk it knowing it also has anticheat.
Yea totally get what your saying. So far companies have been pretty forward as to if you will get banned on deck but anything can happen. I personally dont play Genshin so any time i do a how to you will see the start area lol.
I guess this has to do with looking at people who play on the deck rather the actual playerbase of genshin (most of which don't have a steamdeck), there's way more people playing on their mains than there's actually people using trash accounts even on the patched "unsafe" method, even when the patch is in beta people just use their main accounts because the trust on the patch is just way too high to doubt at this point. I think the main reason everyone is on a new account or in the first area of the game is because of the UID being public and spoilers rather than being scared of playing on their main (if they actually play genshin). However there's a huge number of users who actually play the game instead of showcasing it, from 2 hours a day to literal no lifers. Calling it safe is irresponsible because mihoyo has said nothing about it, yet calling it unsafe is also just untrue since no ban can be attributed to "played on linux". On youtube nobody will straight up put their whale account info on screen and say "i'm running the game on an unsupported platform, genshin tos? more like genshit tos" even if it doesn't require any modification or patch, as this game is just too much of a money sink so everyone is just extremely cautious of publicly showing anything that could remotely break tos.

This is so confusing.. i followed everything in this video. I already downloaded the game but everytime I tried to get the “launcher.exe” but it disappeared?? On my screen, it keeps saying “ it does not exist “ AFTER downloaded the game..
Followed all the steps except i saved everything on my sd card. Everything worked for the launcher but in the end the game wouldn't open OTL . My Steam Deck is a 64 internal storage with a 1T sd card. Edit: apparently the 3.6 update made this tutorial stop working so i guess thats that 😢
no, in fact just when this method came out I also installed it on my SD card but it didn't open for me either, apparently it can only be done on internal storage
i am not sure what the issue was for you guys but 3.6 is working for me no problem on sd card, instead of installing it through steam though i just copied my windows genshin folder to the sd card
I have a problem where it tells me that i have insufficient storage when i attempt to installed a different voice file even though i have 300+ gigs of storage left. What can I do?
hi just wanna ask i was able to launch the game but the problem was the touch pad keyboard won's show up so i can't log in my acct..what to do to make the keyboard appear?
Do you know why, after I've installed the game, and I add the launcher and launch it it tells me "Get game" as if I haven't downloaded the game at all even though I 100% did? Also, if I relaunch the original installer and hit install the launcher itself then pops up and it says play and I can then Launch but then my keyboard will not come up!! Thx

How do you use the steam deck controller with Genshin? What template do you use? I used all of them and none of them work.
Dont forget the game defaults to keyboard and mouse controls. You have to change over to controller in the games settings
Hopefully, they add the game natively.

i followed this and it worked however how do we delete the game completely?
For non steam games it comes down to deleting the compatdata folder that has the game.

It’s because of update 3.6 they updated their anti cheat we gotta way until developers find a way to get us into this game

Click on the name or password section. Hold the steam and x button to bring up the keyboard.

This is a normal installation of the game without any exploit (other methods remove anti-cheat, this does not).
