A big hit before spring of 1983. This song was and is one of the best. I remember young girls brought this record to a house party and someone immediately removed it. They wanted to listen only to pop hits and new wave. Back then funk was relegated to being too ethnic category. Lots of polyrhythms. This was the last year quality funk was produced. People still dressed classy and danced with class. A few months after this and the breakdancing craze got marketed by Hollywood. It all went downhill after 1983. I miss the early 80s when most funk was underground at least in most of CA.
