That is why he called in the second officer. The man who was filming already had established a rapport with the second officer and was able to calm down enough to hear what was being said.

The video is a continuous shot. There was no editing. It's readily apparent that there was no editing. The woman didn't break her elbow. She got up from the ground moving both of her arms, freely.

Depends I got beat up by police in 2013 and stomped out pretty bad. This was also in a Publix parking lot right up the street from my house (New Port Richey Fl) I tried to have my lawyer get surveillance footage from Publix and they only had camera at the door which is what I was told. Now this was 10 years ago and they may have change and upgraded their security systems but who knows.

Simple battery is just the start. It should be battery and attempted robbery, which is a legal charge in Florida. Please talk to a lawyer, see whether they can get additional charges or if you can go after her for defamation. @Wtfbroward I don't know what the law is in Florida, but the definition of robbery in Texas is taking something with no intent to return it. Lawyers will 100% argue that she only intended to erase the footage and then return it, so that charge won't stick.

I had a similar instance and even had marks and a bruise on me and front of police the evidence was filmed and given yo them as well as filling out a police report. DA didn’t file charges most likely because it was a woman doing the hitting AND she was 60# lighter and 7” shorter than me. I did not lift a finger in response, knowing if I had, I would be the one charged and going to jail. Glad she (the “Karen” in your video) received some reciprocity/payback/equal treatment (as they constantly cry for). In her case, I feel she deserved extra attention…”Here’s your helping, would you like another?!” would have been earned/warranted

1. This is further proof that "believe all women" mantra should never have been a thing.
2. Do not trust what those officers told you about charging her or the DA's office seeing the matter through. Continue to make inquiries about the status. Might want to alert local media outlets too.
3. I'd advise talking to a lawyer you can trust (I know, finding a trusted one can be a challenge). Less about you getting money and more about holding the LE and DA accountable in their responsibilities for ensuring justice is served against the criminal offender. As we could all see, they would not have hesitated if the roles were reversed. Justice is supposed to be blind to matter such as the genders of the criminal and the victim.

I worked as a village constable, and my family and friends were all police officers. I have seen both sides of the badge. I agree that the original cop in this case was biased. I was amazed that the cop never even watched the video and still said the victim was right. I do have one piece of advice for the victim in this case. When you "win" and find out they charged her, don't push it. Find out what charges have been filed and move on, you can always talk with the prosecutor to revisit the case.
Doesn't FL have a law that says you have the right to defend yourself if someone is making you feel your safety is at risk? Clearly we all know she assaulted you, but I would think the way she came at you aggressively & got in your face & swung at you (and WE know she made contact) was reason enough to be able to lawfully push her away from you.

Well I think he’s TECHNICALLY right that the video doesn’t show where she punched you and if there was no bruise (which is way harder to see on non-white people) then there’s even less evidence, BUT on the other hand there’s no evidence in the video that you struck her either, we just see that she ended up on the ground. This is why it’s important to always DENY EVERYTHING until you talk with a lawyer for defense, and if you’re asking questions of the police to find out what would happen in certain scenarios or if events transpired in a particular way, ask them as hypothetical questions. For all we know you moved out of her way real quickly and she tripped on her own shoelaces, then blamed you and got bruises for being annoying from her husband when she went home and used them as evidence in her police report against you. 🤷♂️😂 be safe out there y’all 🫡
You need to FOIA all documents, communications, and digital access and alteration audit trails. Specify for anything to do with this incident, her report and actions, all CAD logs, reports, footage, and again, the digital access and alteration records, including deletions.

This is the a big problem with many police departments. Even with ACTUAL video evidence, violence against a man is downplayed. Now if it was a man who walked up and punched a woman for no reason, he would have been locked up fast or had an arrest warrant out for him.

I am a white male. I have been approached by police numerous time throughout my life and they have demanded answers to questions and didn’t like the answers I was giving because it didn’t suit what they wanted to hear.
