  • Who says Washington, D.C. doesn't have style? Certainly not Eric Channing Brewer and the dapper folks that come out for the D.C. Tweed Ride. The ten mile bicycle trek through the city attracts hundreds of Dandies and Quaintrelles, all dressed to the nines. Combine the stunning attire with old-timey bikes, pie and a roaring after party, and it’s truly a sight to behold!
ABOUT THE SERIES: When "Washington, D.C." comes up in conversation, many envision a city comprised of boring politicians, cursed sports teams, crushing humidity and horrible gridlock, where the dress code reads pantsuit and the appropriate soundtrack for any activity is "Hail to the Chief." But this summer, WETA will take you on a journey to meet the real Washington, D.C. -- a place where real people actually live, create and have fun in bizarre, diverse and unexpected ways. We're going out into the national capital region to highlight some of the most interesting, out-of-the-ordinary and under-the-radar activities -- stuff that is decidedly, "Not THAT D.C."

Huge congrats Eric. I remember joining the first ride in 09/10 and consecutive riding almost yearly for now a decade. Oh, bring back Dandy Wellington!!! He's the OG.

The most classy part of this event is the convivial, welcoming atmosphere! Thank you for inspiring us.

That looks awesome. I'd love to be a part of it. Good for you for bringing style back to the world that needs it so badly.
