    Definitely not a fan of this mount. Just installed on my Front Runner. I did notice that I think your bracket is somewhat upside down as the two small M6 holes should align to the T-Track on the FR. I still had to drill the M6 to M8 which hurts (esp for a $200 mount), and the fitment feels a little flimsy to be honest. Let’s see if they hold 😅

      Also the fact that the included mounting solution has M6 and 6-8mm track brackets (6mm) makes standard mounting it to FR feel super flimsy. At least chuck in some 8mm track brackets for the FR folks!!

      Mine feel nice and tight, but wasn’t happy about having to drill them out to fit M8

    Just a suggestion, a step drill sometimes is a better option for drilling out slotted holes. Best scenario is clamp the workpiece to a drill press, use the step drill. (If they are available)

      Thank you for that. I completely didn’t think about a step bit and second I didn’t have a drill press in the forest!

      That would definitely be a problem, sorry, I didn’t realize you were in a remote location.

    Maybe they forgot the instructions in your box. Mine came with instructions.

      I thinking your probably right, but I’m more concerned with the fact that I had to resize the mounting tracks! All in all it’s no big deal these mounts were easy to install and have been rock solid!

      @@ironhorseoverland7353 I wasn’t sure how I was gonna mount them on my gobi rack, but was able to use the squares with the 2 threaded holes in them to attach the mounts to the steal grate on the gobi rack. I definitely like the new design mounts over the old ones.

    Do you have the FrontRunner slimline 2? That bracket was suppose to be made to fit without any modifications. I’m thinking of getting the brackets but don’t want to be drilling and shaving.

      Yes, we have the Frontrunner Slimline II. I wasn’t too happy that I had to hone out the mount but they been working well!!!

      There are two different brackets available and one is made for the front runner rack. The one in the video is not that bracket based on what I have seen.

      I believe the FR specific mount is discontinued, there was lots of feedback around it bending very easily, and the lack of security options.

    I just purchased the BX55S and looking for the mount now. I have a FR Slimline II Roof Rack as well and was looking for the Pelican RFMT001SC Saddle Case Roof Mount which I believed designed specific for the Frontrunner Roof Rack. But I preferred the case mount to be kind of universal fit so that I could hook it to another vehicle with Sherpa The Crestone Roof Rack and this lead me to the Pelican RFMT2 Cargo Case Roof Mount Kit. But thanks for this video for showing some sort of the issue in the fitment of the hex bolt into the bracket between the Frontrunner M8 hex bolt and the Pelican M6 bolt

      You are welcome, it was a simple fix and they have been working very well! I’ve been happy with them.

    Are the nylocs on the horizontal bolts even engaged? It looks like you could use an impact and spin them right off. Also the vertical bolts can be buzzed right off too. More secure than straps but looks easy to defeat for 240 bucks. Just a thought.

    • @ironhorseoverland7353
      @ironhorseoverland7353  2 года назад +1

      Yeah the nylocs are engaged, also use red lock tight and loc washers! If someone was committed and had the time they could get off but as we all know locks only keep honest people honest

Didn’t know if you picked that up on your way through. I’m an electrician I do all of BROGs electrical work . Matt and the team there are awesome to work with. I started getting gear from them to put in my work vans. Now I have two Jeeps and a 4x4 ambulance converted to work out of set up with there gear. Look forward to seeing more content from you guys.
