soph i just wanted to say thank you so much for not using heavy filters and showing your real skin. i’ve had a hard time with body dysmorphia recently and my skin just really gets me down. but seeing people like you show your real skin without blurring filters really does make me feel so much better. i was depressed that my skin didn’t look like famous people/influencers perfect smooth glass skin but i’m starting to finally get it into my head that everybody has textured skin/blemishes and it is completely normal. you’re beautiful soph!! ❤️❤️❤️
I’m so sorry you’re struggling with body dysmorphia ❤️ I’m glad it’s helpful, remember that skin texture, wrinkles, blemishes etc are so NORMAL!!! lot’s of influencers will show themselves at their best and use good lighting (myself included, on instagram especially, good lighting can conceal a lot!!), or use filters, or might even have work done to their face, so try not to compare as most of the time it’s not reality 🙏🏼 but I do try and show the reality as well as more polished posed photos, but I never use blurring filters in my youtube videos so you can see my real skin! thank you for your comment, sending you loads of love xx
Look fantastic often do posts where they show real skin textures of celebrities and its crazyy! Skin texture, scarring, peach fuzz, spots, acne etc is so normal and all imperfections are beautiful and make us unique!xx
I have body dysmorphia too. Watching Soph is kinda therapeutic cus you don't think "oh wow her features are so perfect, no spots, no dark cicrles, why can't I look like that?" And watching Soph you forget about that. I have combination/oily skin so it's hard to find products for my skin. All influencers just talk about makeup products or skincare who are extremely hydrating and thick. That would make my skin oil in like an hour. Soph shows a lot of products that are good for oily skin and she shows how they really work, for how much they last and that's a really good thing. That's what people need to see
@@nikkijones7946 yeah I use Niacinamide too. Ordinary one or the revolution one. Both the same thing and cost about the same. My Mum is 66 and has worn Nivea as her moisturiser everyday for literally decades and she has the most beautiful skin, literally looks like she’s in her early 50s x
So funny story about Nivea cream, my nanna swore by it and used it all her life! She never looked her age!! When she passed we were asked if there was anything we wanted to place in her coffin, so we gave her a pot of Nivea and some Trebor extra strong mints as they were the two things she always had!
Omg !! My grand grandma was the same .. damn.. she only used Nivea .. ( probably as we are German and it’s already around 100 years ago ) but she looked amazing.. I m changing my skin routine now ..
This made me smile. My Grandma also swore by Nivea face cream, she had amazing skin when she passed away at 91 years old...so much so that the funeral director asked what face cream she used!!! Well done Nivea! Expensive isn't always the best!
I just discovered you randomly and can I just say it's so nice to see someone's actual skin without filters! I am going to try the Revolution foundation after watching this.
I love your consistency on RUclips! Your makeup skills just seem to keep improving with every video! Thanks for being so honest and truly showing where’s best to spend your money, I will always trust your recommendations ❤️
Bought this Nivea creme after seeing the video... used it once... It's like magic I just woke up today with the most hydrated glowy even skin I've had in years!! It's amazing thanks Soph❤️
The La Mer is formulated with specific fermented algae that ferments differently depending on light and noise. He tried to mimic the natural sounds they would had in nature. Sounds wacky but he was a physicist and applied that work to his development. It’s got science behind it. Beer brewers often recreate certain lighting and sounds for beer fermenting too.
I love these kinds of videos! It's so nice to see a youtuber who knows it's not a necessity to spend an absolute fortune on beauty products. Also, your skin looks absolutely flawless at the minute ❤️
I started binging your videos a few days back after never watching one before, and now here I am after like 10 mins after you’ve uploaded 🤣 Your revolution eyeshadow palette was the first I ever brought so no idea why I’d never watched before 🤷🏻♀️ but loving your videos ❤️
Also a popular dupe for the Pillowtalk lip liner is the nyx peekaboo neutral one. Allie Glines did that in a dupe vid and they're almost indistinguishable. I love the nyx liner too
It seems like what makes the two creams similar is that they both have mineral oil and petrolatum as main ingredients. Otherwise, the Nivea has a really short ingredients list while the La Mer has a heftier list of ingredients, although in no way enough to justify the insane price. Petrolatum is just Vaseline (petroleum jelly) that’s why it may be a good primer for some because it creates a smooth surface for the makeup. Another cream with petroleum that I love and it is super affordable is the Cerave Moisturizing CREAM (it has to be the cream and not the lotion version, they look exactly the same). Also, the Cerave cream has no fragrance while Nivea and La Mer do.
Yes! The Cerave Moisturizing cream is my holy grail. Use it twice a day for my face, which used to be dry as the desert but has transformed so much! Still on the drier side but just a bit, no reptile skin anymore 😂
I love a dupe video! I use a lot of cheaper makeup for day to day at work and more high end for nights out! P.s I'd love a video where you try out proper OG makeup, like the first glow kits from ABH, old school mascaras, foundations etc that everyone went wild for and to see how they compare now💛

I just saw the La Mer cream in Sephora like two weeks ago. I was in there today, and no one has even touched the boxes!! It's sooooooo expensive and there are so many others that work just fine! I have Makeup Revolution's concealer wand in Caramel, but I still NEED the Charlotte Tilbury one!! Lol. Great video, Soph!! 💚💗
I love Nivea, and to me there’s not much difference in Nivea and higher end moisturizers. I also love Lash Princess mascara (I use the green) BUT it definitely does clump and smudge way more than some others I’ve tried. The Covergirl mascara in the orange tube works really good for me. I didn’t intentionally use it as a dupe, I started using it a while back because of the cheaper price and ended up being completely surprised by how much I like it. I honestly couldn’t tell a difference on the side you used the dupes on versus the other side. Maybe slight differences if I want to nitpick, but I don’t think anyone would know it wasn’t the same makeup all over.
I don't know a single dermatologist that says Lamer is worth the money. I'm sure it's a great product but I could never justify that price tag! The price of some luxury products is absurd!
Loved this! I recently bought the Mario topper and I love it, the Lottie one looks like such a good dupe! I recently got the Essence tubing mascara and it's really good - it's called no more panda eyes
So glad to see someone else talking about the revlon colorstay lipliners! They rival high end in texture and longevity, I just ordered more colours last night lol
That’s so sweet of you to go to your parents house and cook for them, that’s so caring and kind, I love your character even more for that, your such a beautiful person all the way 🤍
I know this sounds like it waters down the moisturiser, but I wet my face first, it helps me spread these products easier. A tip worth trying for thick creams
I have the Nars pot concealer and agree that it's not the best for the undereye because it's a bit too dry. You can really see in your end of day footage how dry both potted concealers become after some hours of wear. But that makes them excellent spot concealers because as your skin gets oily they still grip and stay on. Excellent comparisons!
Soph! For mascara I found a beautiful curling one. It’s by the brand The Saem - Saemmul Perfect Curling Mascara. It’s about £2.50. It smudges when you really sweat but the curl and definition is insane for the price!!
I love the Nivea Q10 pore refining day cream because it’s so soothing and hydrates without making me overproduce oil. I’m 41 and been using it for/a good 4/5 yrs and notice a huge difference in my skin from before using it. I also get cystic hormonal acne and it doesn’t aggravate it either
I love the smell of the Nivea moisturiser, its a total nostalgic trigger for me, from using it in my younger years. Did you know that you can get a fragrance of it 👍 ❤

Plus, I recently read that nivea recommends it as a lip mask as well. I'm going to test that, will save me a bunch of money on Laneige!
I’ve actually been using the Nivea creme for a few months and so far it’s really changed my skin, I’ve found I have a lot less fine lines and it’s so soothing for my excema. I only use it overnight on my whole face, and as eyecream morning and night. I’m sooo glad to hear it’s super similar to la mer as it’s a lot cheaper 🤍

I need to try the IRL foundation! I bought the Nars foundation last year and was quite disappointed, it doesn’t last on me and i feel like i need to use so many pumps to cover my face. So many people love it so it’s annoying that I don’t lol xx
Can you please do a video of you favorite brushes and beauty blenders that you use?? Please!!! Love you videos!! Honestly bought products off your recommendations and dupe videos and they have literally been life savers and wallet savers😂😂❤️❤️
This video has come at the perfect time, thank you so much, I’m on isotretinoin (ruaccutane) for my acne and it’s changing my skin from oily to dry, I tried the nars foundation (got a sample) on your recommendation but my budget just isn’t going to stretch to it right now. Think I’ll have a look at the revolution one now. Most of my make up isn’t going to be suitable any more due to my skin changes so will be having a look at some of the products you’ve mentioned. Thank you. If there is anything else you (or anyone reading this) can recommend for dry skin I’d be eternally grateful (I’ve had oily skin for 33 years so I’ve no idea now haha)
Cerave moisturizer cream is amazing for dry skin! Trust me, I used to have reptile skin 😂 As for foundation, the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation has been my favorite foundation even when my skin was as dry as it used to be.
I used the aquaphor lip balm when I was on roaccutane. It was the only one that helped my lips. My Dr gave me samples of La Roche-Posay Cleansing Cream, the Effaclar H moisturiser and their 50+ SPF. They're expensive though so I bought Cerave afterwards. Also, don't go too overboard on buying skincare and makeup for dry skin as I went overboard and my skin's gone back to being oily again lol 🙈.

I wonder if talking to the algae in the face cream actually worked ?! I know it is a bit out there however it was proven that if you speak nicely to your house plants or play nice music for them they grow better and bigger. Thank you for this video Soph you're the best much love :)
My dad was using the Nivea cream every day after shaving (when it used to be in a tin can!) so the smell and texture really stuck in my mind. Years later when I was adult I got a sample of the La Mer cream, excited to see what is the hype all about. Imagine my reaction after realising this is basically nivea with a hefty price tag...thank god it was only a sample and didn't pay for it

Think I’ll have a look at the revolution one now. Most of my make up isn’t going to be suitable any more due to my skin changes so will be having a look at some of the products you’ve mentioned. Thank you. If there is anything else you (or anyone reading this) can recommend for dry skin I’d be eternally grateful (I’ve had oily skin for 33 years so I’ve no idea now haha)
the cerave moisturiser is great
Maybelline fit me, loreal serum foundation and try aquaphor on top of your moisturizer and never forget the sunscreen
Thank you both, will have a look
I loved the finish of the essence mascara, but it smudged soo badly on me under the eyes! Love these videos xx
Essence has a lot of good products! Love the lash princess!
Hi soph I am loving your content. Quick question with the dupes, do you find the pricier items last longer/ look better at the end of the day ? X
My favourite mascara is the Clinique high impact extreme volume. You would probably enjoy that!
oh my goodness, i need to get my hands on the nivea cream! the makeup revolution foundation has just arrived, so cannot wait to try it out! i just used the essence mascara and love essence mascaras even though it transferred!! loved this!
hiiiiii if anyone is seeing my comment :) my name is kezia, im from malta and love sharing my love for makeup on my channel x
Highly recommend you keep watching videos by Cassandra!! I’ve learned so much about skincare from her she’s great and my skin has greatly improved because of her videos
she’s amazing isn’t she!! 🥰
I use the white tub of the nivea and i swear by it!!! It doesn’t smell as strong as the blue one either 👌👌
YESSSSS!! FINALLYYYY!! I'm loving this! Defo will be purchasing some of these dupes.
Thank you so much! Iv been dying for a few dupes x
I wonder if talking to the algae in the face cream actually worked ?! I know it is a bit out there however it was proven that if you speak nicely to your house plants or play nice music for them they grow better and bigger. Thank you for this video Soph you're the best much love :)
Yeah but how much an hour are they paying someone to stand there and recite it? I bet it's a recording even. It's an absolute rip off.
My dad was using the Nivea cream every day after shaving (when it used to be in a tin can!) so the smell and texture really stuck in my mind. Years later when I was adult I got a sample of the La Mer cream, excited to see what is the hype all about. Imagine my reaction after realising this is basically nivea with a hefty price tag...thank god it was only a sample and didn't pay for it
soph the Elf multi stick in glimmering guava looks really similar to the made by Mitchell blush you used here, it's gorgeous and you get loads of product for the price 😍
I literally have been binge watching your channel for the past 3 days😍😍😍
Aw thanks so much! 🥰
LOVE the colour of your nails💅😍
Your camera seems different than others i watch. I can aucually see your face when you put on foundation and concealer! Thanks for that ❤
just ordered the Lottie London highlighter trio as they look beautiful on your eyes and I too have a daytime look like yours but have been searching for more glittery, wet look, lid toppers.
Also while I was their I thought I would try the new tik tok thing of the wing liner liner and then they had a bundle of 5 different lippy types for 13.95 GBP so of course that slipped into my car quite nicely......got 10 % of for subscribing to Lottie London and free delivery in UK for 20 GBP and over. Thank u Soph for the recommendations oh and when I need a new foundation i'm defo going to try the revolution one u duped with the Nars. love Alli X
So pleased you mentioned cassy, she certainly knows her stuff xx
I tried wearing the revolution irl foundation and did not like it! I felt like it was in NO comparison to the Nars one which is my fave. But glad it worked for you x
I actually prefer revolution foundation on you. looks really natural 😍
