Never quite understood why AJFA doesn't get the same respect as other albums. Given the situation with Cliff's death I think this album is incredible. Technically, creatively and sonically its so tight. A worthy tribute to their band mate nad probably my favourite Metallic record. Great playing btw
If it had not been for the hazing of Jason Newsted, this album would have been my favorite metal album ever. The bass makes so much difference in the sound of the album. Ride the Lightning is my favorite Metallica album with Rust in Peace being my favorite metal album, but the AJFA bass mix is quite easily the best mixed album I ever heard in my life
What a song. I love the pre chorus so much....the power chord shift sounds so freaking good. I got this album when I was 9. Still one of my favorites of all time. Very gritty.
This song, and whole album, kick effin' ass. One thing I have loved since the day I heard this song, is how antagonistic that chorus riff is. I always felt like that was laughing right in your face while you rage with all your might. And the lyrics too. "Doesnt matter what you say, or in to it what you read, you can do it your own way, if it's done just how I say". True nemesis song right here. These first 4 albums are masterpieces top to bottom, never been anything like it since.

I'd like to see lessons from other underrated but good Metallica songs soon. Songs like 2x4, Cure, dirty window, sweet amber, and if it is possible, the songs from hardwired to self-destruct. Songs that were difficult for me to play, now I play them well thanks to your easy and fast tutorials.

i dont know if this will help but you can hold you pick with your index and middle finger on the top and the your thumb holding the pick against your two fingers it makes down picking a little easier

But i maybe recommend some Pentatonics stuffs like Black Album (sad but true things like that) or Kill Em All (Seek and Destroy or Four Horsemen) The problem is the speed, so for everything, work slowly and it will be a good start. Be sure to make it sound in tune, with good feeling, bends in tune etc... But slowly, bar by bar.

You're right and wrong in the same time. On the album, James put an harmony on this part yes. But live, they do as i do in this video (the only version of this song is on the justice tour) and James do the riff behind the melody. In the PDF i do for this song (17 pages) that you can purchase via the link in video description, you will have this harmony written with the rest of the song of course. I do a little update to my set up since September 2021 (start with my King Nothing video) so yes, it's little bit different in a way, but really more useable to work with. And the settings can change a little from songs to another, to fit it the best i could, but maybe on this one i was not to the point ! So i will keep to work on this, to be better time after time !
