I was 12 then - TOTPs was a big thing back then.... Crazy how this is only the 2nd time I have every watched this in my life but I can still remember the songs.
Up my Nan & Grandads for Xmas remember this being on very clearly, I was 7. My first Ghetto blaster as they were called then. A Panasonic one. I thought I was the bees knees 😂. Great times.
I remember watching this on my own portable TV in my room that I got that Christmas I was 11 and thought I was the cats whiskas because I had my own TV lol I wish I could go back to those days ❤❤❤❤
I was 16 years old and in Hungary that year we had the opportunity to watch these TV channels for the first time - Sky Channel, Super Channel and later MTV Europe. The communist dictatorship was just ending and they were already allowing it. And we were amazed to watch these programs that came from a completely different world. It was amazing to see the freedom and prosperity that came from there.
Perfect was one of those songs you got sick of hearing very fast. Yazz made a huge impact but sadly didnt have the songs to sustain the momentum. she had such a great image & vibe about her. But songs songs songs. You need em. I dont even remember another song of hers. But you only need that ONE song to be forever remembered.
I have the album on picture disc still, only a couple of others one she did with Coldcut and another, Stand up for your love rights - and that’s it sadly
interesting how some artists stay in your mind while others you completely forget existed. One hit wonders. I remember Yazz vividly. but this robin beck completely forgot about.
The song was used on the Coke commercial of the day, and became an odd crossover hit (like when Levi commercials used to spawn hits). She appeared, got to #1, and then vanished.
I was 23 , I was in the British army, absolutely smashed lying on my bed drinking strong German beer thinking why won’t the engine start ? Then I realised my car keys were stuck in my ringer……happy days
anthea turner lmao. that first line you can hardly undertsands what she says cause she is so loud & overly perky. In hindsight she seems to be on something

So many great songs, '88 was a brilliant year for the tunes. Nice live performance by the Wets too.
Cannot believe Yazz is 64! I can't believe I'm 47! Time, slow down ffs!

Lead singer of The Hollies here looks a bit like Trigger.
He also looks like my neighbour 😂
December already 2024
No Kylie? No Bros? While I remember all the songs on this ep, it's missing too much to be the '88 I remember!
I'm not moving my lips, but somehow I'm still singing.
TOTP lost it at the end of the 80s.
