It's obvious the folks behind this show really try to match people who are going to have potential together. Not necessarily two people who are the same rather two people who have strong potential to be compatible. These guys had real chemistry. It was palpable. Wish there was a way to watch full episodes in the states.
HBO Max has full episodes. I don't know how current the episodes are, but it has seasons of First Dates from multiple countries.

Every time I watch First Dates, I’m struck by what a good job the show’s matchmaking team does. Better than any other dating show I think!
@@carolinecarpenter7973 -- You can tell their goal is to make compelling television not dràma-filled television, although that does happen every once and a while in spite of their best efforts at match-making.
They do have nightmares occasionally.
That pig of a man with the hilariously huge ego. The FIRST date of the classy dominatrix. Convinced she adored him. Was so patronising. So out of her league. She dumped him with great kindness and class.
The second date, the Irish chap, looked great.
