Yowza, yeah that's pretty bad. I make that much now on videos with 10-15,000 views. It's a mystery how they calculate the earnings, but the main thing is just keep on uploading and it tends to work out in the end. Have fun in the mountains.

Cannot but conclude that Nepal will see the biggest increase in tourism out of any country in the world over the next decade. So unique the countless valleys and mountains you can explore here without hordes of other travellers queuing up the same trail. There's so many treks here that tourism could increase tenfold and you'd still feel you're the only one scaling the mountain

I’ve subscribed to this channel for years. The biggest draw for me is Gabes budget travel. Basic rooms, budget exploring, simple living. So, no need to even go to expensive locales because it’s your budget travel that attracts me.

Hi Gabriel, I remember when you were making less and that was just a few years ago you've made a pretty rapid increase in revenue. The pandemic really hurt things, but I bet people spent more time at home watching your watching videos and it just caught fire. Yes, the longer videos go the more ads which could be the game changer in adding revenue. I also think where you are going makes a difference. Many people like me love it when you travel out to places and extend yourself to see things you may have not seen before because you just didn't stay long enough. It allows you to not only travel to these places but thoroughly stay around to see more locations enjoying what these places truly offer in terms of places to stay or things to eat giving a broader side of the country and enjoying many things you couldn't do before.
Gabriel, you are not an ignorant person. You do your best in taking consideration of wars, occupied country etc. Always an exciting and pleasant time seeing your videos ❤

What I love about your channel is that you refrain from using quick cuts, fancy effects, etc. I'm tired of the quick-to-consume tiktoks and youtube videos (or rather, never took a liking to them). I think I can explain why your viewership might be falling as your income is rising: I've noticed that when you go to some less-visited countries there are lots of locals who watch you (based on the comments). Perhaps someone notices you're there and the word gets out and lots of people subscribe. Yet, in places like Bangladesh or Morocco the ads they watch don't raise much money so they do not increase your income, and those people might not stay with you. Meanwhile, more people in Europe and North America notice you, subscribe and watch regularly and their viewing does raise your income. I hope you can keep growing and keeping subscribers in all parts of the world, because the global mix of comments is often fascinating.

Well I think you deserve every penny you make Gabe , and don't feel like you need to divulge that information you have earned every penny you have, some people are curious and some are just nosey .The work load is massive with the content you put out especially the editing. I've been subscribed since you was at 20k odd subscriber's ish and I personally enjoy keeping up with the journey in life you are taking and especially in 2020 I re watched loads not only to dream about freedom but to help you and other keep an income as for a short time travel was a no go and for a travel channel it's catastrophic 😂 thanks for this summer's adventure especially Northern Cyprus that castle on the mountain top was unreal anyway thanks again and keep up the good work

The answer is in the geography as you know.. I have a feeling your U.S./UK/Northern European percentage of viewers is rather high the last few years vs only making videos in India/Bangladesh, etc.

One of the best videos I've watched on RUclips creator revenues. I personally have no interest in starting my own but I have subscribed to many and have spent countless hours watching them. Mostly the travel ones. Felt guilty about time spent doing that until I was subbing for a middle school teacher a few weeks ago and we were talking about careers. More than a few tweens want to be vloggers and one student asked me how they make money. I could actually kind of answer the question, but not with all the detail you provided. Plus you incorporated interesting travel content into it. ☺

@@samelmudirnot millionaires but make some good money for sure. More than enough. Perhaps 10 thousand euro a month or more depending on the month. Way above average monthly salary probably in all countries. Gabriel too could easily live in Norway where average monthly salary is around 5 to 6 thousand euro. Even a small channel on youtube with less than 10 thousand subscribers can make a few thousand euro a month.
You would be a cool person to sit beside at campfire and listen to your travels. My question would be, WHERE would you choose to live if you ever put down roots??

Personally I've been putting a large portion of my salary on the stock market last few years and with any luck will be quitting my job soon to travel on the interest. Low cost index funds are a good place to start for anyone interested ☮
I started watching when Gabe went to Australia. I'm super interested in Australia and am planning my third trip there. It would be great to see more content from Australia and New Zealand! I like the channel because it's authentic. He's not directly selling stuff in the videos nor is he making the content all about himself. That makes the content more interesting and useful. Sometimes I get curious about safety, but I understand why Gabe doesn't address it. For example, so many times, Gabe is by himself, often at night, off the beaten path. I'm sure he feels perfectly safe, and he probably is. But if he was a solo female traveler, would the same activity be too risky? It would be interesting to hear more about that.
Over the years you really made some awesome travel videos Gabriel. When i lived in Baltic states mostly in Latvia it was very relaxing to watch your videos. Great job!
You deserve every penny and I wish it was 10x the amount for allowing us to see the world through you. Since travel is coming roaring back after the coronavirus I bet the ads that display are high CPC travel related ads which may contribute to your higher earnings as its a very competitive ad category.
Hi Gabriel, the CPM is a pretty accurate reflection of how much advertisers are willing to pay to attract new business. If your CPM has gone up significantly in the past couple of years, I'd venture to guess it's because of the post-covid travel boom and "revenge travel". Keep it up, you have awesome content, and maybe think about diversifying too. I'm sure many people would buy "Gabriel's guide to budget travel" if it's priced right.

I watch every time you post. Being bedfast for the most part. You have become a part of my daily routine. My wife however always says she pity's you because you see these great places, but you're always alone, and feels you are lonely. She would love to see you travel with a wife. Either way, i appreciate you.
What I love about your channel is that you refrain from using quick cuts, fancy effects, etc. I'm tired of the quick-to-consume tiktoks and youtube videos (or rather, never took a liking to them). Your vids are always relaxing, as if I'm walking next to you in real time. Much more immersive. Thank you for knowing your audience so well! Keep up the adventures!!

I think I can explain why your viewership might be falling as your income is rising: I've noticed that when you go to some less-visited countries there are lots of locals who watch you (based on the comments). Perhaps someone notices you're there and the word gets out and lots of people subscribe. Yet, in places like Bangladesh or Morocco the ads they watch don't raise much money so they do not increase your income, and those people might not stay with you. Meanwhile, more people in Europe and North America notice you, subscribe and watch regularly and their viewing does raise your income. I hope you can keep growing and keeping subscribers in all parts of the world, because the global mix of comments is often fascinating.

Well I think you deserve every penny you make Gabe , and don't feel like you need to divulge that information you have earned every penny you have, some people are curious and some are just nosey .The work load is massive with the content you put out especially the editing. I've been subscribed since you was at 20k odd subscriber's ish and I personally enjoy keeping up with the journey in life you are taking and especially in 2020 I re watched loads not only to dream about freedom but to help you and other keep an income as for a short time travel was a no go and for a travel channel it's catastrophic 😂 thanks for this summer's adventure especially Northern Cyprus that castle on the mountain top was unreal anyway thanks again and keep up the good work

The answer is in the geography as you know.. I have a feeling your U.S./UK/Northern European percentage of viewers is rather high the last few years vs only making videos in India/Bangladesh, etc.

One of the best videos I've watched on RUclips creator revenues. I personally have no interest in starting my own but I have subscribed to many and have spent countless hours watching them. Mostly the travel ones. Felt guilty about time spent doing that until I was subbing for a middle school teacher a few weeks ago and we were talking about careers. More than a few tweens want to be vloggers and one student asked me how they make money. I could actually kind of answer the question, but not with all the detail you provided. Plus you incorporated interesting travel content into it. ☺

I don't think they're millionaires. 6 figures possibly but travel vlogs have low cpm
@@samelmudirnot millionaires but make some good money for sure. More than enough. Perhaps 10 thousand euro a month or more depending on the month. Way above average monthly salary probably in all countries. Gabriel too could easily live in Norway where average monthly salary is around 5 to 6 thousand euro. Even a small channel on youtube with less than 10 thousand subscribers can make a few thousand euro a month.

Thanks for sharing Gabriel. Talking of money, I hope you're putting a little away for retirement or another change of situation. I'm amazed how many friends I have that don't save for the future. Personally I've been putting a large portion of my salary on the stock market last few years and with any luck will be quitting my job soon to travel on the interest. Low cost index funds are a good place to start for anyone interested ☮
I started watching when Gabe went to Australia. I'm super interested in Australia and am planning my third trip there. It would be great to see more content from Australia and New Zealand! I like the channel because it's authentic. He's not directly selling stuff in the videos nor is he making the content all about himself. That makes the content more interesting and useful. Sometimes I get curious about safety, but I understand why Gabe doesn't address it. For example, so many times, Gabe is by himself, often at night, off the beaten path. I'm sure he feels perfectly safe, and he probably is. But if he was a solo female traveler, would the same activity be too risky? It would be interesting to hear more about that.
Over the years you really made some awesome travel videos Gabriel. When i lived in Baltic states mostly in Latvia it was very relaxing to watch your videos. Great job!

Since travel is coming roaring back after the coronavirus I bet the ads that display are high CPC travel related ads which may contribute to your higher earnings as its a very competitive ad category.

Hi Gabriel, the CPM is a pretty accurate reflection of how much advertisers are willing to pay to attract new business. If your CPM has gone up significantly in the past couple of years, I'd venture to guess it's because of the post-covid travel boom and "revenge travel". Keep it up, you have awesome content, and maybe think about diversifying too. I'm sure many people would buy "Gabriel's guide to budget travel" if it's priced right.
