This is the best video I've seen on Rodrigues. You have manage to catch the essence of the people, especially the youngsters. I studied one of their endemic bird species there ten year ago and used to catch the bus with all the school children every day. They all ways seemed sweet natured and happy.

Looking for more videos from you. You haven't posted any in some time. Rodrig-UEs! Pronouncing the 'UE' is from a Portuguese name. (And/or Spanish) However, I see that the local Creole doesn't pronounce it that way but rather 'Rodrig' Other sailors who made landfall there pronounce it as in Portuguese. Hi Brent, thanks for your comment and you are correct. With over 10,000 n.miles sailed since Rodrigues there simply has not been the time to get videos out. We have a HUGE amount of footage now from some stunning places so will be getting a lot more videos into the pipeline over the next 6 months now that we are in the Caribbean. Best regards, Colin

Hi Patrick, Hope all is well over there cruising Zanzibar! Thanks but I do believe your video covered more of the top activities to do in Rodrigues, so we will just have to see how they each rate. This particular video was shot almost exclusively by Ron in 4K, and unfortunately a lot of the other footage we had from riding motor bikes etc. just did not come out at a high enough quality level to include in a 4k video. As originally planned, all my crew (Ron, Julia and Julian) departed the boat here in Grenada last week after a long trip with me all the way from Phuket to Caribbean. I am really enjoying the serenity of having the boat back to myself again, and Lauren my wife joins me again here soon, but with this move I lose my expert camera man/ video editor, (Ron) as well as Julia who was also very active in helping us get these videos to reality. So I guess from now on it's over to me to continue these on my own applying some of the learnings from watching Ron do his thing. Perhaps therefore expect an inevitable slight dip in quality of productions initially, and certainly also a slightly different style with more sailing action/activities than this particular video as I learn more about creating videos that are worth watching. Watch this space..!

Hi Boorer Boorer, we have now completed a full circumnavigation, are back in Australia, and sold Island Pearl II as we will be working for a few years before we get another boat (IP3) to sail on again. Hopefully, that will be another Amel as this one turned out to be such an excellent boat for long-term liveaboard, long ocean crossings, and tropical cruising. She was out 7th yacht, so we tried a fair few before we picked the Amel.
Yes, we had an amazing time in Reunion as that country is dramatically beautiful and we have lots of footage of our time there. There will be a video on both Mauritius and Reunion in due course when time allows, as well as South Africa and so many other wonderful places. Right now we have completed the circumnavigation of the world and back home working to save for the next voyage. Unfortunately making these videos takes a lot of time but it will happen. Hi, Apology we have been doing a lot of sailing since this video (ie now already in the Pacific at Tahiti) recently with little access to internet or time for editing more videos. We have never stopped getting awesome new footage though, both camera and drone and can't wait to get many more videos out at the end of 2019 when we will put the entire circumnavigation series out which will be quite different to all the other channels out there.
