Politicized Language

  • "Social justice" activists are changing and redefining many words, from "birthing people", "equity", "mistress", "violence", to "racism”.
Is that a harmless evolution of language? Or a step towards “1984?”
    ----
So you don’t miss the weekly video from Stossel TV, sign up here: johnstossel.activehosted.com/f/1
    ----
Tim Sandefur of the Goldwater Institute argues that today’s language changes are dangerous.
For example, one activist declared that "a transgender woman of color walking down the street and being called a man -- [that] is an act of violence.”
"It is quite chilling,” says Sandefur, the degree to which the social justice movement... is willing to control our language."
"The only way that we have as human beings to deal with one another is through language, discussion, debate, deliberation. If we say that that's a form of violence ... then the only way left for us to relate to one another is through power," he adds.
I push back , saying that the social justice movement has good intentions.
The video above has our full discussion.

I think they use these "words" as a means of control due to an obsession with power and although they know this, they deny it and attempt to justify their lust for power and control in the name of "diversity", "inclusion", and "equity". If one is free and independent, they can't be controlled. If one is dependent on these power-hungry narcissists, then you get the idea.

Getting ride of the word “mother” is ridiculous. In most countries, the word “mother” conjures up emotions that would even make a giant man and warrior like Goliath choke up in tears. In South Korean culture for instance, the word “mother” is such a powerful respect filled word for the woman who gave birth to you and presumably raised you...so much so people cry whenever they talk about their “mom”.

I lost my ability to get a Masers degree because of pushing back in a social justice class that promoted hatred and anger at the University of Arizona.
