Those are almost the same tone at the hi and mid, but at the low setting quite different. My choice is Texas Ranger. Thank you for your comparision and awesome playing.
Hi Chris, Can I ask how you setup your Deluxe Reverb's base tone before you hit it with the Texan Twang? What volume is the amp at and what attenuation level do you use on the Hot Plate to get that just breaking up clean tone? Are you still using Hot Plates? Thanks!
So do I have to have a fender deluxe or a super reverb to get that tone or can I use my marshall clean channel to achieve a similar tone. Its a hard question I know. But If i can save a few dollars here and there it can help
Man this tone is great. I have a Strat with Texas specials and a deluxe reverb. Are you using these pedals with anything else or are these the only ones. I’m interested
Hi! Love the demos, thanks. Heard you mention you use a hotplate. Other than a google search I don't know much about this or the range of attenuators out there. Anything good value that I should look at?
Declan Corcoran hiya Declan, I’ve always just used a hot plate so can’t comment on anything else I’m afraid, but do know that I’d always have to use an amp with an attenuator from now on. Thanks so much for the support!
As far as voicing goes, by my ear, the Diaz is more throaty with a bit more mid in the tone. The Texas Twang has a nasal quality to it. Both are stellar Texas blues pedals, IMO. FAR cheaper than putting a '64 neck on a '63 Strat Amp with extra heavy guage strings and played through a Fender tube amp.😅
To be honest...your base tone sounds pretty good to me and I would most likely use that one on stage versus either of these. It's not that they (both pedals) don't sound authentic it's just a lot of noise for me. Good vid though. Just my 2 cents worth. peace
Hi Heidi, Thanks a lot for the question. It’s hard to choose just one haha! The Pedal Pawn Fuzz is designed for tremendous clean up when rolling back your guitars volume knob & then when you roll up your volume.. you get full fat FUZZ!! The Pedal Pawn Texan Twang has similar glassy clean up with the guitars volume knob (even more on the HI setting) though then as opposed to Fuzz.. you get a really Twang-like fat boost / overdrive / Twang when rolling the guitars volume knob up 😀 Hope that helps a bit!
I know this is a random question. I bought the pedal and its amazing. Only problem is that can my fender princeton amp take the abuse without breaking something? It was at 3 and with both pedals on...Ear bleeding tone.
Gain and volume on true single coil pickups with 60 cycle hum. If you play loud, which you have to do to naturally overdrive a tube amp, single coils hum loudly. It’s just part of the deal with playing a Strat. You can’t hear it when you’re actually playing though. You can’t get truly great tube tone unless you’re pushing the amps hard.
The tone and dynamics are awesome but that 60 is pretty rough. Im sure there are some ways around it, a well shielded guitar and a decent power conditioner might do the trick.
@@iagobroxado We actually had to trouble shoot a very similar scenario a couple weeks ago in a session with another rangemaster clone, it worked to a point with single coils, probably 50% reduction in noise floor but not quiet by any means.
While this sounds really cool, your dry tone is already very SRV to my ears. I doubt I could get even close to the SRV sound using this at home, considering the types of guitars and amps I have. But that much is obvious, amps and guitars are just as important as pedals. Very good work with the pedal though and also your playing is exquisite.. I'm sure they are selling like hot cakes by now!
@@meisterjubjub7606 I'm not talking about the volume issue only but also the guitar and amp choices. While the pedals claim to be SRV in a box, will I get even remotely close to the SRV sound using a Telecaster and a Laney Cub212R? I don't think so. It has to be a fender style amp and a strat style guitar in my experience. Better to use these amazing pedals to get your own sound from your own rig and not plug in just about anything and expect instant SRV.
Thanks a lot! Yeah that's the nature of the beast in this scenario, though my ears block out 60 cycle hum after years of listening to Hendrix records haha!
The noise is just part of the deal... it's more obvious in these demos but in a band situation, anyone with experience can mask it so most wouldn't notice
WOW! The Pedal Pawn is the best I have heard even with the full gain setting the Strat sound is never buried or muddy.
Wow!! Tight chops man! Great tone, no idea how that was all bedroom volume.
The Texan Twang is defintley on my list after picking up my vintera 60s mod :) Thanks for the comparision vid!
BlackHawk - Edits and more That’s so cool! You definitely won’t be disappointed 🤠🙏🔥
Just got one of these. Adding a light was a nice touch 🙌🏼
You know it’s a good sounding pedal when it inspires you to play differently. Sounds great!
Well said!
Awesome work mate! The high setting rolled back sounds super glassy!
Stuart Carter Thanks so much Stuart 🙏
That sounds nuts dude 🤘 you had me at the clean tone
Anthony Clarke Agh, thanks so much 😊
4:50 is why I'm buying this pedal!

Great review. I prefer the Texas Ranger sounds more tuby and less thin. Good luck finding one though .
great pedal! do you have your amp set to lower treble and higher bass because this pedal has alot of treble? texas twang

Graat pedal, I am enjoying it :)
Do you use treble bleed with your strat at this setup with these pedals?
Awesome Chris! Great tones! 65 or 68 DRRI?
How does these sound into a clean solidstate amp?
What settings you're using in your Fender DRRi?
Man this tone is great. I have a Strat with Texas specials and a deluxe reverb. Are you using these pedals with anything else or are these the only ones. I’m interested
Kenneth Cusick thanks so much Kenneth! That’s a very similar setup to mine then, no it’s straight into the pedals here 😊
Great amp sounds! What speakers?
What amp are you using here? I couldn't find where you mention that in the video.

Not ganna lie. I watch your pedal reviews just to hear your playing 😂
How’s the Texas ranger deals when fed into a clean amp?
NEED THIS!
😍😍
Are these basically a treble charger?
It sounds killer...are these treble boosters?
What volume Is the Deluxe Reverb set at for your clean tone?
Just heard the hot plate comment. Got it. Thanks!
the next pedal that you should clone should be a good vintage wah, 846 or clyde mccoy ;)
Emanuel Barreiro 😍😍
@@ChrisKingRobinson not a bad idea right? haha
I don't play guitar or know anything about pedals, but I definitely dig the Pedal Pawn sound.
Douglas Staggs Thanks Doug mate!! 🤗

You’re a bad ass player!
perfect video (vídeo perfeito)! Thanks (obrigado)
That all neck pickup your playing on? what amp? sounds great!
He switches every now and then. Pretty sure he uses a reissue Fender, most likely asuepr or deluxe reverb to my ears. Could be wrong tho
@@meisterjubjub7606 deluxe reverb I believe

NOISY !!!
Why does your strat and deluxe sound that good before you've even pressed a pedal on? Is it just pure volume? Interesting
he has it cranked using a THD hotplate to bring the overall volume back down.
Yes!! How do I get my DRRI to sound like that???
nlabombarda Thanks! Definitely look for an attenuator so you can push it hard at low volumes 🤗
both are silicon?

Does it matter which amp you’re using? Like is this a treble boost that needs a Brit style amp, what were you using here?
its sounds best on fender style tube amps cranked ripping loud, the pedal pawn has killer blues tones.
Great Demo! What type of pickups and speakers are you using?
Thanks a lot Matan, I was using the Jenson stock speaker in my deluxe reverb and handmade pickups 🛻 🎛

Cesar diaz carrillo was my uncle his family still in east stroudsburg Pennsylvania meet I from Puerto rico san juan
Oh wow, in PA here? I live in Central Pennsylvania. Does he still make anything?
If you had to,purchase one out of the two what would. It be …the fuzz or pedal pawn?
Hi Heidi,
Thanks a lot for the question. It’s hard to choose just one haha!
The Pedal Pawn Fuzz is designed for tremendous clean up when rolling back your guitars volume knob & then when you roll up your volume.. you get full fat FUZZ!!
The Pedal Pawn Texan Twang has similar glassy clean up with the guitars volume knob (even more on the HI setting) though then as opposed to Fuzz.. you get a really Twang-like fat boost / overdrive / Twang when rolling the guitars volume knob up 😀

Amp is om high but the Hotplate attenuates the vol.

Yeah, that amount of buzz would drive me nuts. Def need a noise suppressor or something to tame that.
The tone and dynamics are awesome but that 60 is pretty rough. Im sure there are some ways around it, a well shielded guitar and a decent power conditioner might do the trick.
I kinda doubt. That's basically a single transistor rangemaster circuit, the noise is part of the nature of the thing.

I find that it gets a little easier to do that cranked amp SRV thing at home with an attenuator. You might get what you need if you pick one up.
