Love how this was explained and made easy for those to understand just what an art and a total way of living this is. Fell in love with hula in my high school days. That was 62 years ago. I planed a trip to Hawaii just to attend the Merry Monarch along with my daughter, son in law and grand daughter. My check for tickets was sent back from my application and I was so disappointed, as I knew at my age, 73 at the time, and with health issues, I knew this could be my only chance to get there.I had wanted to go to Hawaii my whole life. Mahalo to a special lady, who sent me her tickets after placing a posting on Craigslist stating why I wanted tickets and couldn't get any. She graciously sent me her tickets that due to an illness she wouldn't be attending that year. I will be forever great full. Everyone that loves hula must get to the Merry Monarch Festival. Hopefully it will be back next year.

I am at he very beginning of learning hula at age 70 in Massachusetts. We couldn't find a beginner live class so we are learning from every RUclips vid we can find. Yours showed up in my feed and I'm very thankful for that. What a beautiful video. What struck me the most was when you mentioned peeling your feet off the floor. Love that image, it explains exactly what to do. That was something that none of the other videos ever mentioned, and I think it's very important for the preciseness and cleanliness of movement. Mahalo for sharing this with us! ❤❤❤❤❤
