I was blessed to visit for 2 weeks in Kokava and will never forget the beauty, the wonderful people, and best of all the good Slovak food.... the best food in the world!
+Zdeno Oravec Hello! Ahoj ! my grandmother's name was Susan Fronko (Zuzanna Fronkova)... in 1914 she married Andrew Bozone (Ondrej Bozon), he was born in Vazec, Slovakia and came to America in 1910. I found I had relatives in Kokava; a woman also named Zuzanna Fronkova, she married my grandmother's brother Adam Fronko, and I went to Kokava to visit them in 2005. It was wonderful!! I fell in love with Slovakia and will carry the memories in my heart forever. I am proud to be a Slovak-American woman!
+Zdeno Oravec Good morning! I was in Slovakia for 2 weeks in 2005 and stayed in Lipt. Hradok. When I visited my relatives in Kokava I don't remember the street name. The house was on the street where the Lutheran Church is located. We all walked from the house to the church, so it was very near. My grandmother (Zuzanna Fronkova) came to America, but her brother Adam Fronko stayed in Kokava. Adam married a woman also named Zuzanna. They lived in Kokava in that house I visited. They had 2 sons, Milos and Eugen. They have all died now, so I don't know who lives in that house now :(

My grandmother Zuzanna Fronkova had brothers Adam and Michal, and 3 sisters. Michal married a woman also named Zuzanna and had 11 children; among them Milos and Eugen. When I visited Slovakia in 2005 I got to meet them and also lots of their children, grandchildren, cousins, uncles, aunts... so many wonderful people, I love them all. I was sorry to hear Eugen died; also his mother Zuzanna (died 2009 she was 97 years old!!!) and his father Michal (died 1982). I don't have Facebook or Skype, but here is my email if you would like to write. She descends from Michal "Miso" Stano (1852-1935) & Maria Ulicny, and their son Michael Stano (1876-1935) who married Zofia Zuzanna Ambros. I hope to bring my children for a long visit someday. I know we'd enjoy playing soccer and skiing, but mostly I suspect we'd enjoy meeting distant cousins and sharing stories over traditional food and drink.
Hi Kirk, it is nice to hear about my family from abroad. My name is Stana Stanova. Michal Stano (1876-1935) and Zuzana Ambroz (1879 - 1953) were my grandparents. I still remember some members of my family from USA and I have a lot of pictures of them. I live in Prague (Czech Republic), but still have a large family in Slovakia and in Liptovska Kokava. Hello Kirk My name is Lubomir Fronko. My grandmother Bozena Stano married Sunavec was sister of Michael Stamo. I remember that Michael Stano wisited Liptovska Kokava in 1975 together his daughter Emily. I was 12 year old at that time.
My wife and I live in Lawrence Township, NJ, USA. We have two boys currently in college - Adam and Nathaniel. We hope to visit Slovakia in the next couple of years. Of course, if you are ever in the USA, we would welcome you to visit us in New Jersey. Michael Stano and his daughter Millie ("Milka") visited Kokava in 1975. Sadly, Millie died in 1999, but her brother (my father-in-law) is alive and well - he turns 88 this month.
