MNpicker a treadmill motor would be cool. In my drill press video i talk about my VFD which allows me to control the speed. I thought about doing that with this project, but the extra expense didnt make sense.
For this kind of task, where you have access to both sides of the bit of wood, I often use T-nuts, which are threaded inserts but which have prongs and are tapped in from the reverse side. Even more secure, as the pull of the bolt isn't trying to pull the threaded insert out.
Nice job...great to have the memory as well as a great tool in the shop.
Hi Joe!!!!! Awesome job!!! The switch mount is sweet!!! The RED accent makes that whole machine!!!!!!! Great job!!!
Haha, I knew you would like the red. Cheers, Joe.

MNpicker cool. They are great machines. Are you going to modify yours or try and keep it stock?
Joe's Shop Yep...very handy👍I might try a step pulley setup..cheap...but very limited variable speed..not sure yet.. maybe even a Treadmill motor..

Bravo ! Good work ! 👏🙂👍
That metal frame needs some paint.
I considered painting it grey, but the shellac looked nice so I just left it.
