- Welcome to the College Move Out HAUL REVEAL!!! All of this was thrown away outside the student dorms and I'm SO happy we were able to save what we could from the landfill. The amount of waste is horrible and no matter how many years we go out and do this, we're still shocked at all the perfectly usable, and sometimes brand new, items that are thrown away.
We will be having a huge garage sale with all of our finds THIS weekend (June 22, 2024), so stay tuned for the live stream on the morning of and the following video!!

It’s HAUL REVEAL TIME 🎉 All of this was taken out of the student dorm dumpsters during a 2 week period. It’s unbelievable how much is wasted and we did our best to save as much as we could from the landfill! - Our garage sale will be this Saturday (6/22) so stay tuned for the livestream and videos to come!! Yes...the waste of all items...but they didn't have to work to pay for it..their parents is paying for all of it out of their own paycheck...when you've been taught like that, it's really hard to ever change...that's expected to continue after graduation...that's what sad...

WOW !!! It's so sad to see people throw away, rather than donate. It's great the two of you save it from the dump. I remember when my daughter was going off to college, all the hours we spent in Target and Wal-mart, etc looking for all the things she needed in her dorm room and thenlater in a apartment. We didn't have a lot of money to throw away and she did not throw it away.
It is hard to believe that so many good and useful things are just tossed in the garbage. Thank you for working so hard to recycle these things to good homes! You are so generous with your finds and sharing them with others. Keep up the good work!!

That's more food than I can afford to buy at the store, just thrown away!! I am on a special diet after a car accident and it gets expensive buying certain foods, and here it's just thrown away. 😢

@@theIAMofME Yes, with groceries being so expensive and so many people struggling.
At my college, student housing hosted an event where students could donate whatever they didn’t want and during the event students could take any of those items home.

Kelly, you should also keep the small step stool to use when dumpster diving. So much stuff that doesn’t need to go to the landfill. Thanks for saving it all.

It's too dangerous outside for cats. It's never safe for them outside.
@@christinelanmon2852, That is an opinion. It really should be up to the cat. Cats are much more trainable than we've been told. Some cats will hurt themselves if forced to stay in. If you don't have predators, why can't the kitty's go out and play? I live in apartments, and the treatment of animals breaks my heart. Many don't even exercise their animals. Animals need, exercise, nature and sunshine, just like we do.
@@edie4321 I don't think so. Every cat we had on the farm was killed on the road, or disappeared never to be seen again. Our friend's beloved Siamese was shot and killed by a neighbor who hated cats. Make them a catio; open a window with a screen for them. It's much safer.
@@edie4321 That poor cat is screaming to go outside Cats should go outside it's absolutely necessary for good health they must get out into the sun.
@@lanna7917 It is not. They kill so many birds and their life span is a couple of years vs 10-15 yrs for indoor cats. Leash walks and catios are great ways to get them outside.

That vintage lime Mexican blanket is marvelous. They are great to have, in the car, house, by the bed. Especially on hot summer nights, just the right kind of covering. If you let it go, take no less than $25.

Universities should do a partnership with goodwill in order to collect all the items at the end of the semester.

I've seen that done in other states on RUclips.
The one near me does, but a lot still goes in or near the dumpsters. But it's thankfully made a big difference.

Wow! I can't believe students just throw out all of this stuff, especially the mini fridges and microwaves. I love your kitty. I have one just like him and he's alway on the window sill wanting to go out. He is so sweet and loving.
It's a shame more colleges don't set up donation centers. I mean the shirt donation dumpsters are a start but I've seen several colleges that set up stations where you drop off everything to donate. Some even have college thrift stores to help future students purchase needed items. Yall can only do so much and it's great what you can save but the college could do better.
Yes! Salvation Army should bring donation boxes and put them near the dumpsters.
The one near me has clothing recycling bins year-round, but only Goodwill collection areas a couple weeks before & during college move out.

Thank you both for being such an inspiration to me, going out to the university during college move out. I made at least 3 different trips and donated nearly all directly to people in need. They were *so* appreciative! All saved from landfill!

I'm a reformed hoarder. Abut 6 years ago, I cleaned up and cleaned out and had a yard sale. All my plastic drawer units sold within the first half hour. Nice haul!

It’s just crazy to think that this is all y’all saved, and think of all that y’all weren’t able to get to in time. It’s mind blowing really. I wish colleges would have a better system rather then it all go to the dumpsters. So many families or individuals could benefit from items.

Hanks Root Beer is good. So is the cheesy mashed potatoes. They actually whip up nicely. The rain boots are great cause they flair. You can wear thick socks with them in winter.

Those Japanese snacks are fun. I bought a bag of those off Amazon for tasting with friends around Christmas a few years ago. I remember there was one that looked like a dried cherry that was in this really beautiful plastic packaging with cherry blossoms all over it. I was so excited to try it, thinking it was going to be a sweet cherry flavor, but oh boy, was I wrong. I think it was pickled! It was so sour and salty and just an immediate shock to my taste buds that it completely grossed me out 🤢 and I couldn't spit it out quick enough! So beware!😂
Yea, I wouldn't trust anything like that if it came from a place like that. You never know what you're getting.

It is a ramen bowl and it has a rest spot for your chopsticks. I bought some for my grandchildren. They love them!💕
You and Alex did all the manual labor pulling these items out of the dumpsters and hauling it all home, so you deserve the resale price. But I am always astounded how much kids throw out, and I had two kids go through college! They did not do this. They were raised to not be wasteful, to donate or move it all back with them.

They will only put things in their house that they want to keep or needs to be washed. They will be putting most of the rest of in the garage to store for the sale. But I am sure their garage is just as organized, so they will put it in there very neatly! They had gotten a desk but I didn't see it in the reveal. Maybe they are keeping it.

What a GREAT SERVICE you both have done for saving these items and food from the landfill!! What does this say about the youth or should I say adults for not donating these items to local charities or halfway houses, etc.? America is such a disposable society. Hello, I love your videos, it's incredible how much the students throw away. I would like some of those things for my children, some clothes and shoes for this next school year, since the work situation is difficult and everything is very expensive.

the cute pink thing with all the pockets is for bras and panties, or socks or tee shirts, i have the same red copper cooker pan thing and with this metal handles it is GREAT for roasting and stews and in the oven cooking and then straight to the table. I have had my set for 10 years and it is just now wearing out the copper. so they are really nice.

That is a ramen noodle bowl. I have a bunch. It normally comes with chopsticks and a ceramic spoon which is what the hole and the square are for.
