I watched this live with my grandmother.. watching this back years later is cool!! I remember this game like it was yesterday!! I always knew Verla see was going to be good but I never knew he’d be this good!! He’sa true generational talent!! It’s been an honor to follow his career from day one!!
That's nonsense that the commentators won't even acknowledge the fact. I turned this game on in the 7th Inning, watched a few outs, and then went elsewhere. Because nobody on the broadcast would give me (or other later-arriving viewers) a hint at what was going on. This idea of a "no-hitter curse" is nonsense.
I know you're just playing the role of "snarky RUclips commentor who says look at me, I'm smarter than you", but that necessitates watching until the end of the inning. Which doesn't always happen, even if they watch for a 5-10 minute chunk of time.@@brandonthompson4186
@@brandonthompson4186 That would require some brain power, and considering he is still upset at the commentators 16 years later regarding his own mistake shows that he doesn't have much of that to spare.
Yeah, there is. I think there was something with the grass seed that day they were trying to eat. That was a lot. Usually it’s 1 or 2. A bird got hit by a ground ball this year.
@@nicholasmedovich8691 I am aware that the comment didn't age well but this comment was before the combined no-hitter also the other players who did it was Matt Manning,Jason Foley and Alex Lange
This video is a treasure, thank you for uploading.
Verlander was absolutely filthy in that 9th inning. What a spectacle.
102 in the 9th inning is incredible

Thanks for the post ..
Funny how the commentators don't even want to mention the fact of the no-no until the final out

Or just look at the box score, that they showed at the end of every, single inning. They don't have to say anything if you just look.

I miss Verlander
Are there seagulls like that in stadiums today? I don't watch a lot of modern baseball, but I never see birds like that.

Justin Verlander remains the only Tigers Pitcher to throw a perfect game in Comerica Park as of 2023
Wow!!

He didn’t throw a perfect game. He threw a no hitter.
