She said acrylic yarn for the red and white, for cold items (the yellow and white yarn is also acrylic, she said 4 ply, or medium). The rainbow one was cotton, for HOT items. She is using a size B crochet hook (2.25mm)

I use a 3.5 or 3,75 mm for mine I like them tight so as not to burn myself
I zoomed it to look at the crochet hook,B 2.25mm.
