I just left Universal/Cabana Bay today. Wednesday had my shoes soaked. My daughter and I were on the Jurassic Park water ride when the monsoon hit. I agree we you, a bad day on vacation beats a good day at work.
You are spot on about the weather forecast and have had several trips where rain was predicted the whole time and we saw none of it. I will say however my favorite memory at universal was on a trip with friends. We were sitting eating crepes watching the clouds roll in thinking “it’s probably time to go..” we did not make that decision and instead chose to ride et one last time. Came out to pouring rain! Monsoon style. Cast members let us ride two more times bc they were sure it would let up. It didn’t and at that point the park was closed. We fully embraced it! We skipped, danced, jumped in puddles and played in the rain all the way back to our hotel and it was the absolute best! One of my favorite memories ever.
Oh my gosh that’s amazing! What a great memory!! We’re full team embrace it (when you don’t have camera gear with you 😂). We’re always jealous of people at volcano bay when it rains! Lol
Hey so I know you guys are basically Universal enthusiasts, and I've seen lots of your videos where you go to both Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and even Disney; but I've never seen you guys go to Volcano Bay (Universal's Water Park). Have you guys ever been and do you plan on making videos on it in the future? I'm going very soon and I'd love to see your tips and tricks and favorite rides!
As someone who has worked in IOA years ago...come to IOA first thing in the morning! Storms typically come in the afternoon/late afternoon. That way at least you can get on all the outdoor rides you want to go on (the popular ones at least). But FL is unpredictable with the weather, just come prepared! Awesome video!!
100%! Islands in the morning is always the best call! Plus, some of the coasters are a little temperamental so good to get on them early in case they go down!
Hollywood boulevard is usually where I try to stay when it's raining. The horror Make-Up show is so underrated, I can't stress that enough to anyone reading this comment. I remember going when I was a kid and getting picked on/messed with by the stage actors during the show. It was so memorable. The coolest part is not too much has changed with the show over the years. I keep hoping they will mess with my son one of these times. That's why I always try to go see the show when we are in the park. Especially on bad weather days.
As someone from Nova Scotia who went to Florida in late May.... people also have to understand the rain is WARM. It's not a cold rain, so if you grab a poncho or quick-dry clothing then you're fine to walk around in the rain and not get a chill... Also have I a question about waterproof shoes... have either of you tried Vessis for the theme parks? Cause that's my plan lol
This video is a perfect example of how unpredictable the weather can be in FL lol. My wife & I have gone to the parks when it's raining or supposed to rain and we always had great days. We were on vacation so we weren't going to miss days in the parks. Being prepared and having a plan if it does rain helps though. Always love your videos.
That’s the perfect attitude to have! There’s no point in letting (potential) rain ruin your day, you just gotta keep on going and make the most out of it!
My lady and I have been EXTREMELY lucky at Universal. Last time we went there was an initial forecast for rain, but changed at the last minute to sunshine. I’d rather be at Universal in the rain than at work in nice weather.
Thank ypu guys for your awesome tips. We are going for the first time ever Monday the 5th of June. We are so excited. With your tips and tricks I think me and my wife are going to have a great time. We are 46 and soooooo excited. Thank you
And of course mid day Wednesday was a torrential downpour 😂 Our favorite is the back porch of Hog’s Head under the big awnings with a view of the castle!
Thanks guys for answering my question about umbrellas in the comments on the other video and for including detail in this one for others to see. I always assumed someone from your group would have to hold the umbrellas while others rode.
Absolutely, we’re so happy to help! That’s one of those things you don’t really think about until you’re in that position, so we’re happy we could answer that question for everyone!
Great video! We're planning on going to next week's Orlando Informer Meetup and it's calling for thunderstorms Friday night as well as our EPCOT After Hours party the night before.
If it helps at least a lil bit, when you hear the universal team member radios go off as an alarm and you hear a code that's 1013, it means weather. 1013 Blue is clear of all weather, silver is lightning in a 10 mile radius, white is lightning in a 5-mile radius. Green is light rain, orange is moderate rain and wind. purple is heavy rain and strong winds.
I went yesterday and just took a nice nap in the borne spectacular. And then just sat around and people watched. Nice cool weather and very nice nap time. Park emptied out. All rides were still opened other then rip ride.
Finally saw you guys! You both look great in person. I would have gone up to you but you were on a mission & thought I had something in my teeth 😂😂 love y'all ❤❤
Haha you’re so sweet, thank you! We both naturally walk fast, but you should’ve said hello! We’re always willing to stop and say hi! We hope you had a great day at the parks!!
Awesome vlog as always guys, we have been watching you for a good while now and we were finally on our holiday the other week and was really hoping to bump into you guys to say thanks for all the tips and trick that made our holiday the best :) Thank you guys
Thank you so much, we really appreciate it! We’re sorry we missed you on your trip, but it sounds like you had an amazing time!! Hopefully we’ll catch you next time!
It was a valiant effort! So sorry you both had to suffer like that at Universal with no rain. ;D Seriously though, more helpful tips and great encouragement. Thanks!
The last time I went it rained at about 10. It was so great since so many people left and it rains for so short amount of time! Great video guys! Also could you cover which queues are worth it to not skip if you have express pass? This is something that has always interested me. Thanks guys!
YES YES YES! There is a ocean-wise gap of info available describing what you miss in each queue using express pass. It’s crazy b/c this info is really important imo!!! I hope you make that video!!
Hey guys! Great channel, been really useful for planning my upcoming trip to Orlando. And I need your advise, what do you think about weather and rain for the last week of August? I’m a little worried about rain. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!! And don’t worry too much. The forecast is gonna say a chance of rain every day, but half the time it’s like this video. It might storm for an hour or less, or it might miss the parks. Either way, it’s not gonna be an all day rain out very often!
A lot of times it actually doesn't rain. I live 15 minutes from Universal and I've seen it pouring at my place and it's just cloudy at Universal. We Floridians joke about the weather all the time but it's actually true.
First of all, we love the content you two provide so thanks for that. Second thing as we plan or trip for the fall has there been any talks of anything related to stay-and-scream this year? Appreciate the videos. WIll
Thank you, Will! They haven’t announced anything but I can’t remember the last time they didn’t do stay and scream! We would pretty much guarantee it’ll be a thing this year, too!
@@ThePughTwo Perfect! Last year was the first that we utilized it because to be honest I had never heard or really knew of it. We were not UO or HHN rookies either so I was initially mad at myself. Used it both days we went to HHN, also spent the day at the park that day so it was a fifteen hour day for both. Best two days we've spent there in the ten years we have been going, literally one of the best tips ever. Thank you so much!
I just love you guys. I have only been once to Universal. I would love to go again when I can afford it. Anna.. I too am a cancer survivor. Breast and brain. You are just so down to earth I think it would be fun just to hang out with you.
Soaking wet tennis shoes have been the reason I left the park for the day quite a few times. Amazon sells disposable water proof shoe covers that squish up tiny and are so easy to fit in a Fanny pack
My daughter and I love watching your videos, my daughter said the two of you reminder her of her sister and her husband. I agree my other daughter is lots of fun and happy like Anna and her husband and just like Tyler funny and slightly sarcastic. You are right about the weather we were at Disney in June once and it was hurricane weather for two days and we thought it was bad but my wife said just wait till it stops it will be unbearably hot when it stops and then it stopped and as always she was right.😊
I remember last year in the last week of June when my daughter and I were at Universal/Islands, that it didn't rain on us at all for our entire trip, except when we were inside Poseidon's Fury and it broke down while we were inside. It rained but it has stopped by the time we got back outside. We were given a free express pass for one ride. I was quite surprised that it didn't rain anymore besides that one time. You never know how the Florida weather is gonna do. I hope our upcoming trip the last week of June will be the same as last year.
We are poncho people so I’ve never asked but I always wondered what people did with their big umbrellas when they went on rides. Waterproof running shoes changed my life!
@@ThePughTwo not really no. The tops of your socks get a little wet but that’s it. Stuck in rain at HS last week and nice dry feet! We have the waterproof version of New Balance and they’ve been great so far!
I love your content guys!! I'm from the Netherlands and we are going this summer and watching your content is great fun and super thanks for ALL the tips! I was talking with my wife today what shoes should we wear? Because sneakers would get totally wet in some rides. What would you guys advise? Hope to see you i the park, if we do i'm buying you guys a butterbeer!! *edit-- NOWAY!!! i should have watched the video till the end!!! FRESH SOCKS!!
Was nice to bump into you guys at the park. Sorry it didn't rain more for you 😂.We were the couple from Wales who were stuck on Manta face down for 45 minutes !!🤪🤪🎢. Keep up the good work Tyler and Anna
It was so nice meeting you, too! We rode manta for the first time Friday and I can’t imagine how terrible that must’ve been! Those restrains were not comfortable! Lol
I flew down yesterday from Minneapolis, just for the day. I came prepared with an umbrella. Put it in the locker at Forbidden Journey, and when I got off the ride, the store was jam packed because it was pouring. I didn't have time to wait it out, so I had to buy a $13 poncho just to get to my umbrella! 🤣
Funny you make this video, cause today i literally stopped an my anxiety was telling me all kinds of lies of how its gonna rain the whole time I'm there in July. lmao
I was literally hoping for this video. Being in Maine we don't have the choice of weather when we visit. I'm curious... with all the new umbrellas you buy how many do you have? Are the rest now dog toys?
All 3 mornings of my trip were good but all three afternoons rained until night lol. Extra socks are a must on rain days. Panchos are kind of annoying... Walt Disney World is crazy and they stay open.. I rode Slinky dog with rain and lightning Lol..
We have been SO LUCKY on our last two vacations. It rained one evening total, on one of our trips, and other than that completely clear blue skies. So knowing my luck it’ll be continuous downpours when we’re there next 😂
Rain was forcasted every day of my trip but the weather changed. It rained one night alot but I had already left the parks and was at my hotel. It was rain delay for about an hour when I went to magic kingdom.
My wife and I visited from Scotland in April for 2 weeks. Rain was forecast for half the trip. It rained for about 4 hours total during the hours we were awake 😂
I was rained out all three days last month. There was no amount of preparedness that we could have done with our two year old in tow against the torrential rain. On the second day we just gave in to it 😂. My advice, If you get caught in the rain, head to the hotel and change and try again at a later time.
Hey there, it was awesome seeing the both of you again. Sorry it didn't rain much, I was wondering, have you thought about doing a video about how people with disabilities can ride or get through the queue lines of an attraction? Especially ones with stairs and have limited mobility.
All of Universal’s rides are ADA accessible! The ones with stairs have elevators or other entries to avoid those issues. We don’t personally have knowledge or experience with that stuff so we haven’t done a video on it, but we might in the future if we ever feel like we could do it justice!
@The Pugh Two if you guys were ever interested in making one we can help. There is one ride in particular I think you might find interesting and it's journey to the forbidden forest has a secondary entrance for people with disabilities.
Funny thing is that when we have gone to Florida it has not rained a single drop, 2 years ago when we went in September for 2 weeks for HHN the whole week before it was raining so much it flooded houses it stopped raining the day before and didn't rain our whole trip and the next day after we left it poured again. Last year we only went for 1 week in October rigjt afyer the hurricane but it didn't rain the whole trip either.
I had an inkling of a feeling this video topic would be covered by you guys soon. 😂I see you didn't have to add a new umbrella to your collection this time haha
As universal experts I need help! So we are doing island of adventure one day only on September 1 (opening of hhn) I keep going back and forth whether or not to buy express passes ahead. Would you recommend that I do this considering hhn and if it rains again we are only doing IOA. Thank you!
So if you’re leaning towards buying them, they’re gonna get more expensive as you get closer to the day. It’s just a personal choice about how many things you’re wanting to ride and how long you’re willing to wait in line!
Going early august late this month expecting thunderstorms?! I don’t know if I have the wrong place as I am currently far away but will the rides be closing?
i go to the parks all the time and I wanna meet you guys so bad and I literally always see when you guys post that you were there the same day in the opposite park as me or there the day before me😢
We’re sorry we’ve missed you so much! We usually post on our insta story when we’re at the parks, so that’s probably the easiest way to know where we’re at!
You might have said it in here and I missed it, but there's a few attractions that you can re-ride without going outside. I've looped Spidey and MIB during storms before. Maybe they don't let you anymore.
That was interesting a team member takes your umbrella then returns it after youve rode a attraction but seeing as the rumoured universal studios great britain is rumoured to be mostly indoors as it rains quite abit here in uk should be alright mostly as for the type of umbrellas i prefer the ones featured in this vlog because theyre stronger and more durable compared to the collapsible umbrellas yes theyre good for portability and fit in the lockers but if its torrential rain and high winds they dont last 5mins 😂😂
Don't go to Finnegans if it's raining, we did that last year, we were soaked and went in there with the AC blasting, and no matter where you sit, you get hit with the cold air. We both got really sick and spent 2 days of our vacation in bed.
The first thing to do is measure what the rain actually is. Sprinkles are florida's misting. Light rain means you will need to keep electronics in plastic bags. My suggestion is bring a ziplock bag and you got water protection. After that you are good to keep walking. If it starts raining harder than normal then you want to avoid coasters but you can now go on some rides with outdoor ques as there is less wait. If there is thunder and heavy rain then seek shelter. If the rain is very hard and it starts flooding then get your camera ready and make sure you got flip flops or sandals as you may encounter areas that are a couple inches deep. If you are doing this during halloween horror nights then get ready for zero waits. Tropical storm levels of rain means its time to get out the video camera and get ready for some first class video you do not see often. This is when events like halloween horror nights are especially awesome as the dark and stormy night cliche is in full effect. If you have serious balls the size of granite then get out your trusty poncho and do the slow walk through the park. People will think you are a mad man but the stuff you will see is the stuff of legends.
We just left Universal/Hard Rock today. It was a wash out most every night. However, “a bad day on vacation STILL beats a good day at work”
I like that saying.
Right??? I use to say that about golf when I was playing in college. Always better than class or work! Lol

Wow...didn't realise you've never been on it before !. Very uncomfortable those restraints are indeed😂..
The only time I worried when it rained was when I was at universal studios and hurricane ian was coming. I was stuck at cabana bay for 2 days.
Yeah we don’t blame you for worrying then lol hurricanes are a completely different story!
Funny you make this video, cause today i literally stopped an my anxiety was telling me all kinds of lies of how its gonna rain the whole time I'm there in July. lmao
😂😂 the forecast lies! We promise! Lol
I was literally hoping for this video. Being in Maine we don't have the choice of weather when we visit. I'm curious... with all the new umbrellas you buy how many do you have? Are the rest now dog toys?
Haha how perfect!! We have several in the car 🤦🏼♀️😂 and no, they don’t have any interest in them thankfully! Lol
Foiled by Mother Nature! Still another great video 😀
Where are your sunglasses from?
Oakley! There’s a link in the description to the exact ones!
😂😂 knowing FL it should just be afternoon showers!
Rain was forcasted every day of my trip but the weather changed. It rained one night alot but I had already left the parks and was at my hotel. It was rain delay for about an hour when I went to magic kingdom.
That’s Florida for you! Lol
Yes for the Chacos!
They’re the best!!
My wife and I visited from Scotland in April for 2 weeks. Rain was forecast for half the trip. It rained for about 4 hours total during the hours we were awake 😂
😂😂 yeah that sounds about right lol
It feels illegal to be this early😂. I love their videos ❤
Haha we love it! We hope you enjoyed it!
I saw you guys this day! I was a little far and I didn’t want to shout hi lol
Haha you should’ve! We hope you had a great (and rain free) day! 😂
I had an inkling of a feeling this video topic would be covered by you guys soon. 😂I see you didn't have to add a new umbrella to your collection this time haha
Haha no! We came prepared this time!!
I wonder if lighting has ever touched grown at the parks, that would be interesting for sure!
Well, a lot of prayers were met this day for no rain!
Haha right?? We’re happy for everyone else that was wishing against it!
was so hoping to see a classic FL torrential downpour!
We were too!
We just walked into city walk
That’s amazing! It’s a beautiful day to enjoy the parks!!
Going early august late this month expecting thunderstorms?! I don’t know if I have the wrong place as I am currently far away but will the rides be closing?
The outdoor rides close, but indoor ones stay open!
This is the most original and best video I have ever, ever! seen. You guys rock this!
You’re so sweet, thank you! We appreciate you watching!
You can wear ponchos on the spiderman ride and the Hogwarts castle ride! (This was a few years ago but we wore ponchos on those!)
Haha that’s interesting!

i go to the parks all the time and I wanna meet you guys so bad and I literally always see when you guys post that you were there the same day in the opposite park as me or there the day before me😢
We’re sorry we’ve missed you so much!
We had a rainy day at universal. It was so much fun we got sweets and hung out in Harry Potter world
That sounds like the best day!! We love it!
Butter beer addiction....telling yall...
Today is a black out day for disney so I bought a Universal pass. It will rain all day. So. I'm researching. Almost 25 years since I've been there.
We hope this video was helpful!!
I just wished they could make Hogsmead COLD or at least cool, so it matches the ❄️ on the rooftops.
It’s so much more fun on the rare cold day in Orlando!
Boom goes the dynamite
Let’s go, Don!!
That was interesting a team member takes your umbrella then returns it after youve rode a attraction but seeing as the rumoured universal studios great britain is rumoured to be mostly indoors as it rains quite abit here in uk should be alright mostly as for the type of umbrellas i prefer the ones featured in this vlog because theyre stronger and more durable compared to the collapsible umbrellas yes theyre good for portability and fit in the lockers but if its torrential rain and high winds they dont last 5mins 😂😂
lol universal umbrellas are pretty good! And yes! We love that since there’s not anywhere else to store them
Rain, rain go away watch the Pugh Two today!!
😂😂 we love it!!
Go during HHN in September, you’ll get rain for sure. 😅
LETS FN GOOOOOOOOO
Let’s go!!!!!!!
You just know next time you want a sunny day it’s now going to rain all day 😂
Haha right?? Karma coming our way 😂
Don't go to Finnegans if it's raining, we did that last year, we were soaked and went in there with the AC blasting, and no matter where you sit, you get hit with the cold air.
