This new style of Hard Techno of recent years is a very effective blend of past stuff. Its made evenly of Hard Acid Techno, Hard Trance (the 90s one), FreeTekno, Belgian Rave Stabs, Psytrance pulse kicks and crazy leads, Gabber buzzy sounds, Schranz shrapnel sounds and modern Dark/Industrial Techno rumble kicks. I kind of feel that it became the new standard because all this DJ sets sounds pretty similar to one another, but its undeniable it sounds cool and effective.
