Very funny comparison, i must admit! :D But, after trying both of them i wouldn't agree... It's always best to try it for yourself. The most negative thing about GS was gearbox for me. Generally, i bought XR as an only bike and loving it.
Have to say the GS1250 is the best bike I have ridden in my 24 years of riding. 43 this year and will be ordering a Triple Black 1250. Don’t need to be an older rider to appreciate how good the GS is! Knowing now what I love and hate about bikes and riding in general, the GS is most definitely for me. Thank you VTold for another enjoyable video.
I totally understand what you mean. I'm super happy that you're getting the newest R1250GS as it's going to be really awesome. I hope that you'll enjoy it as much as possible. Cheers!
Actually, when considering the XR - then this is what a GS may do indeed. I hope you'll love the XR. It's really exciting for those who like a more aggressive riding. And there are many that do!

Right, the XR is much more sporty, even this newer one which BMW tried to soften. Still, they cannot do that too much as then they would make a GS out of an XR which would be absurd. At least use an updated version of the XR for the comparison. Don't agree at all with your comments as I have owned 5 different versions of the GSA before my XR.
It is much more powerful and that's simple. Now saying that it's better or worse with curves means nothing. Not sure if I agree at all. You are comparing the older gen XR vs the GS. The newer gen XR is better bike than the older gen XR all around. Plus, the XR is a weapon on the tarmac, the GS hasnt got a chance to keep up.
The newer XR is indeed better in my opinion. In a straight line race, of course any GS will get smoked by an XR. I do know the RS, have ridden it and it's an interesting motorcycle, quite unique with a boxer engine, however it kind of doesn't go along well in a sporty-looking motorcycle with a sporty position on it. Boxer has rather short gears and that's not what you expect in a sports bike. If you like it, then it's great. Looking for a sporty experience, I'd definitely choose an XR here because of its wild engine. It cannot go offroad either actually - just like RS. Why are you mixing gen1 and gen2 on the video. Does this review apply for both? The gen2 should have the flaws you mentioned refined. Thinking of switching from 2019 r1250 gs hp to 2021 xr. Will test drive soon.
Some things apply to both and when you see the 1st gen, it's when I'm mentioning it. Unless there's something messed up there. If you let me know the time frame, I'll explain what I meant. And yes, there are definitely differences in riding comfort between 1st gen and 2nd gen. I'll make a video on that.

None of them!.., 1250 RS always! Considering that most of GS owners ONLY uses his bike on road, this bike is definitely over rated. Leaving behind off-road purposes RS is much much much better in every single scenario. Not need to say a word about the XR…, you said almost all. Thanks for your videos. Cheers!!
I am on the GS front. Hence I ordered another one. The XR lacks comfort, vibrates and is to crude. And I can’t drive it slowly. And I really like the way my GSA drives.
If you keep pushing the speed wobble on the XR goes away again. It's for riders with balls however, if you like to potter around then it's not the bike for you
Jasne - to kwestia gustu.
Well, considering the performance of the S1000XR, not many can beat it here already. Going further to 1300cc and even more HP and torque could make it fly all the way to the moon.

I think I am also exactly the kind of guy that you described. Yeah, I totally get it.
I owns 2017 XR and i am aggressive rider there is no wobbling on high speed very stable electronic susp , my XR came lowered from manufacturer as an option add to the price and had low seat option
Or hear me out, the R1250 RS. It's like a cross between the XR and the GS and doesn't have the stupid headlight from the new 1300 GS.
Wait, does that make me the one radom American that loves your takes on motorcycles?
Now that seems accurate! Good one!
Are u talking about the old model?
What about the old model?
The s1000 xr you were talking about was the old model. You rode it but the old model.
"if you are 60+ I'm sorry but there is only one choice left for you" ...LOLOLOL
63 and just bought the S1000XR. Not ready for a 2 wheeled wheel chair yet.
Yes I'm 60+...... no need to guess what I ride😂
Haha, so we know you've made a good choice! :)
Boxer engine ? Wtf the 1250 has a boxer not the xr 1000
Dominiczku, wake up
That's what he said, lol
I was going to buy s100 Xr but you broke my mind and what now?😂
Depends on what features you like the most ;)
If you keep pushing the speed wobble on the XR goes away again.
It's for riders with balls however, if you like to potter around then it's not the bike for you
Dude , i miss ur videos with moto more more more videos with POV
Let's kick the winter out and I'm hoping to be out there too. Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
For me gs and xr are not good ...forza 750 scooter try it and you will be happy
I think I'll walk.
Jasne - to kwestia gustu.
The S1000XR should be an S1300XR with the engine of the K1300R or something like this. Then this would definitely be a serious bike.
Well, considering the performance of the S1000XR, not many can beat it here already. Going further to 1300cc and even more HP and torque could make it fly all the way to the moon.
@@VToldsMotoShow No need for more HP. Just more torque at low revs... 😌
I Come from an older bmw k1200gt, want more comfort (age😒). I have ridden the r1250gs and also the new 2021 ktm super adventure 1290 's. Allthough the bmw has the name I prefered the ktm!
I'm wondering myself how these two would compare to each other.
What you talking about man 😂😂 go on your gravel ride
BMW is just insane for still using Hayes front calipers and Brembo in the rear on their 2021 series, BMW will lose a lot of customers if they continue their cheap money saving tactics.
So far so good and they seem to be working just as well.
