There are too many reviews on expensive European adventure bikes around, and not enough like this, on affordable Japanese basic middleweights that might get more people into motorcycling.

I bought a 2018 Yamaha R3 as my first bike. Rode it a few months but wanted a little more power so I bought a 2019 Ninja 400. I love the N400 but wish I would have skipped both and started with the N650 like you. So now I have 2 bikes... looking to get rid of R3 so I can get the 650. • @cebuanoguy
    @cebuanoguy 5 лет назад +3

This bike is good for commuting, track day, and touring. It’s not an off road bike though.
I’m 5’11 and the seating is perfect for me, Upright, Half tuck, full tuck and body positions when cornering.
My bike handles wet and frozen surfaces really well also. I had to drive 6hrs back to my work place after buying from the dealer. It was 18 degrees Fahrenheit outside.
The one thing that I absolutely love about this bike is when I go full tuck, and go 90-100mph. The wind becomes nothing.

Coron White Weight limit for the 650 is 400lbs. You should be good. I suggest going to the dealer and test ride the bikes to see which one feels better.
I’ve seen skinny scrawny guys riding on a bigger bike like the ninja 1000 or h2. And I’ve seen 6 ft + guys riding on smaller bikes like the Honda Grom. It all depends on how it feels to you.

i bought the 2018 model as my first motorcycle and i think it´s the perfect bike for new riders. very comfortable riding position, has enough power but won´t bite you in the ass if you accidentally open the throttle too much. not too sure about the vibrations though...maybe kawasaki managed to reduce them with the 2019 model but i know a couple of people who actually resold their 2018 model because their hands and/or feet got numb pretty quickly so i´d recommend a decent test ride before buying.

absolom84 should be gripping the tank with your knees at all times you're arms should be relaxed at all times and feet relaxed also.. Hands relaxed with arms ready to take turns or make maneuvers as they come... If your wrists and feet are hurting on a 50 mile trip you are not in the proper riding position plain and simple.

Doug I recommend it man I live in the states and the prices on the ninja 650 is crazy cheap compared to its class mates however it’s not as sporty but still has good torque and and a top speed for me 124 I weigh 200 pounds (again this bike is the best bang for the buck by far for its power) also side note usally for this bike the insurance is gonna be a bit cheaper compared to bikes around the same displacement due to the fact less people own and drive it so less accidents (at least here in the states)

Edit: forgot to mention I have a full Yoshimura exhaust system with carbon muffler, that might effect the power slightly

When you said learning to ride back in 1978 (something like that) was alot different than learning on the bikes of today it gave me a good HA!
IDK if it's the fisheye effect of the camera but 2 lanes over there looks the size of a single lane here in Pennsylvania. xD We waste so much money to pave wide roads, then when potholes form they just leave them. We're bankrupt. lol Pennsylvania also has more roads/streets than every other state in this country.

English roads are a bit too narrow though, they were all built for horses and carts originally so you can imagine its a bit of a squeeze these days, especially with the amount of cars parked on the roads. I think there must be a nice middle ground somewhere in the world.

All my machines are large capacity machines BUT! After riding a few modern 500 and 650 machines, I'll admit they are better and more fun as road machines and most riders would benefit in trying these smaller capacity machines than large heavy high horse power bikes.

How is the ninja 650 not heavy? Both the er6n as well as the ninja 650 have a wet weight of around 211kg, meanwhile the cbr1000rr has around 206kg wet. If you ride these bikes in asia either in city traffic or even curvy mountains the weight of something like a er6n is quite noticeable.

    • @johnrocker2986

mark pulling Well, I’ve ridden one of these now. It’s kind of a small bike for my frame, but it’s a lot of fun for the money. It is surprisingly quick/fast but most notable was the light weight and how easy it is to flick it around. I’m not sure I’m a fan of the twin engine, but it sounds better in person than on videos, and it will make this bike move quite well. All things considered I’m more impressed with the 1000 (which I rode today as well) but if you are looking for an inexpensive fun bike, the Ninja 650 is great. I’ve watched your review on the 1000 as well, and I really appreciate you having reviewed both! The 1000 is an amazing bike, and the 650 is amazing in value.

Went to a Kawasaki dealership to look at Vulcan s but came out in love with the Ninja 650. As im 180cm and 100kg i just assumed a sporty bike like the ninja would feel cramped and uncomfortable for me and my hobby grade beer belly but it felt fantastic to sit on! almost forgot about the Vulcan S:p

I used to dream about having an R6 or any 600+ cc crotch rocket. Now I would prefer one of these rather than 90% of superbikes. Too bad I live in a third world country and Ninja 650s are expensive as fuck. Still more affordable than those 06 R6s that are sold for 25K usd

Hi, i just got out from the bike store and i spent 1 1/2 hrs looking all the bikes and this one is the one for me. I'm just almost 5'4 in height. And this bike is perfect for me.. When the bike standing straight, my foot are 1/3 on the ground and when i just slightly bend the bike on one side my one foot is flat to the ground love it.. Is a light bike, i know the gas is very little or no gas on the floor display but, i think still not heavy.. I push the bike back and fort still i can maneuver it fine..Also what i like is the exhaust pipe is hiding under the foot peg love it.. Good to see the display on this video love the looks is balance.. I also like the full pairing... I wish it as a little bit wide rear tire maybe 180 like the 2018 Honda cbr650f rear tire..Majority i Love the bike and i'ts on sale today July 5 2019 for $6.999 US..The guy said on approve credit no down around more or less $200 a month for 60 months.. For a 650cc engine this is a really slow bike... Very entry level. I own a 2014 model and there is something about the displacement or the compression ratio of the engine that makes it slow... even though it's advertised as a 650.

It's a v-twin not a 4 cylinder, that's the entire point of the bike, a comfortable commuter that has the power for highways easily. If you're looking for speed you'll never even use, you want the zx6r.
