I so appreciated your tutorial. New to chainmaille and read 2 different sets of directions and wasn't able to understand the separation process or where to do the color change. Your tutorial made this all possible. Thank you so much Yvonne. BTW, this weave is a lot like the Full Persian.
This is really well-explained, and I was able to follow along and actually make an inch and half long.sample for my references. Interesting note: All I have right now are some 16ga (SWG) 1/4" ID rings, and they don't make the box. 4.0 aspect ratio makes more what looks like tank treads, and I love it!
What a great tutorial !! You always make things so much easier to understand and than anyone on UTUBE. Know that you are loved and I personally just REALLY love the way you explain everything!!! You do it in a way that "most" people can understand. Some people just will never get it but not everyone listens to you close enough. It almost makes a person feel like anything can be done with some practice. Thanks so much! Have a great day. I have a question that I am probably going to message you with. Hope that's okay. Sincerely, Michael. By the way he way you and Randy do work so well together. In the times we are in it is nice to see 2 people who are really happy and a great team. Thanks again. 🔗🔗🔗🔗🔗✌️ 🤞🤞.
Thanks for at least reading my comment. That is super appreciated. You are a truly truly talented. Keep on keeping on cause you have a good thing going. Who knows you could take over Utube some day.😉 Take care.
Hi love to watch your step by step tutorials what size of jump rings and are they thick ones do you have rainbow colored jump rings my first time watching you and I enjoyed it thanks for sharing hope to hear from you soon thank you very much
Hallo! Thank you for this great tutorial!! I was wondering if you could give advice what I could do with these rings? I bought the wrong ones. 0,8mm 20 ga 7/64 AR 3.4. Is there any weave I could do with this?😀
Yvonne, I love all of your work and appreciate you sharing these tutorials with us! May I ask where you purchase your colored jump rings? I can’t seem to find the vivid colors you show here without it taking months to receive! On amazon anyway...I have a $100 gift card I was wanting to use 😉
I just love all of your tutorial. I wish I could get an answer to one of the one I posted comments to however, on this subject, can you do a box weave with beads in the center?
Thank you for the videos I have learned a lot. I usually make earrings because I have trouble with sizes. What size do you make your bracelets and anklets and necklaces??? If I make them to fit my arm or ankle it would be to big for most smaller people. I can't use me as a template or size guide.
This can be hard number to decide on; I usually make my bracelets 7.5" with about an inch of rings as an extender chain at the end, and I always have my materials with me at events so I can shorten or extend a bracelet into an anklet or necklace. I found there was no winning. Someone with a 6 inch wrist could love their bracelets baggy or need it snug someone may want their anklet to fit both a bare anklet or go over a boot, lol! Everyone wants something different, so I bring me tools and customize on the spot :)
What aspect ratio would you recommend for this weave? Is there a bigger AR after which it won't hold its shape? My choice of rings is really limited where I live, since ordering from outside the EU has now been slapped with custom handling fees and tax and stuff, making everything much more expensive and not quite worth it to order...
Heya! I really prefer an aspect ratio of around 5, an AR of 6 is super loose and doesn't look like the weave unless it is under tension being pulled taught, if that makes sense. I hope this helps!
This video helps a lot, thank you. Anyone know where to find the jump rings like these? I just love the colors. And which brand is the best to use? As you can tell I am new at this and would appreciate any tips. Thx
I got my rings at www.metaldesignz.com. First time ordering from them but the coating seem to be a very good quality. Have been able to work with them without using Magic Tool coating and have not marred or scratch the coloring at all.
Yvonne I know you are Extremely Busy, but Many of us would like our questions answered can someone help with that? Like Where can we get these Beautiful Jump Rings? Thanks.
Hey, Judy! I do my best to put the links in the video description or to mention in the video. I highly recommend anodized aluminum from www.theringlord.com
You have bestowed upon me the gift of knowledge, and I thank you and your cats for well made tutorial.
What I like most about your videos is your voice and demeanor. I find it so relaxing! plus very clear and precise instruction. Thanks!
You do the best and easiest instructions! Thank you. Was going crazy.
Thank you for this tutorial. I had tried some others before this, but this one really unlocked this weave for me.

Hi super pretty I love the way you explain everything, Thanks so much for sharing 😍😍🖒🖒😄😄💗💗
Thank you!! :-D
My mind can't do this... Beautiful
I made this chain using old copper coat hangers. In making the rings, the wire work-hardened. This made strong rings that butted tightly.
thank you very helpful

Very nice
I just made a bracelet and necklace with this design and had all my jump rings open. first time trying the box chain.
Those colors are perfect for Mardi Gras but in February
lol, they are just the colors I had on hand; I hadn't noticed the mari gras theme!
oooohhhh loved it
Yayy!!!

when you measure the 7.5 is that with or without the clasp?
where did you get the colored jump rings or did you make them?
Thank you for the cat comment. You must know my Tabby. Such a needy cat. Such a lover.
lol! Cats are such sweet little monsters :p

Superhelpful! Thank you! :D Every time I watch one of your chainmaille vids I get this urge to do chainmaille! lol
I thought I messed it up but turns out it looks very different using 4.0 ar rings
I was thinking my cats would enjoy this! 🐱
Lol!!
I love to use this type of box weave with crystals suspended there the middle for z bit of flash.
Do you know how to make a chainmail angel that looks like maybe it's part Byzantine with open rings and then seed beads I would love to have a pattern
This video helps a lot, thank you.
