Tequila Sunrise 8a in Chulilla (Full Ascent)

Ascent of "Tequila Sunrise" 8a in October 2023 at El Balconcito, Chulilla.

Description:
This magnificent limestone route starts out on a 7 meter tufa getting progressively harder the further you ascend it. Afterwards there is a good no-hands knee-bar where you can rest before the crux. The crux consists of around 12 technical moves, where you have to get the beta dialed, especially the feet! It goes left around a bell-shaped feature and up on some bad holds. Notice in the video, that Anders is making many small adjustments to compensate for his height, so the route is not morphed :) After the crux there is a full rest followed by 25 meters of easier climbing with good rests on the way. I rate this route 5/5 stars! I can recommend it, if you are looking for a fun 8a project in Chulilla.

I noticed Anders holds his breath during hard moves, same as me. Something I forget I’m doing until all of a sudden it’s quiet.

Yes they are long! Most of them are between 30 and 50 meters.

Anders Ha. and I met in February 2016 in Chulilla. Maybe you could greet him from me (the older Frankenjura guy). Nice to see that his climbing has progressed this much! Great send!
And a technical question: How do you get real sound recordings into th edrone footage?

I get the climber audio through the Zoom F2 field recorder. It's very small, so it fits into the climbers pocket and has a cable with microphone that is attached to either harness or t-shirt 😃
The hard part is to reduce the sound of the drone in the background, which I'm still figuring out though.

Glad you liked the video! The harness is called "Black Diamond Solution". Personally i preferre the BD Zone though, as it is a little lighter.
