I remember skateboarding in an old rundown log flume ride, and adjoining water park. It had been closed for years and nobody F'd Wit Us. Would skate and hang out for hours!
I’m glad I started skating in the 80’s. Launch ramp days were so fun! Hosoi, Cab, and Kendall were definitely favorites, and still are. I believe that may have been a young Mike Carroll with the high ollies (melon) off the launch ramp.
As Hosoi once said - "It is to be experienced, not explained". I wish I could go back and re-live those years as a kid, where nothing else mattered, but skateboarding. Just skating everything with your mates.
I remember the first time I stood on a Santa Cruz Roskopp, with the spoon nose and that wicked concave, it felt so right, fit like a glove and instantly knew I had to find a way of getting one.
We used to set ours up right in front of the landing of these loading docks behind Kmart(and it's connected mini mall). If was so much better, softer, and easier on the knees.

Good video
My first deck was the Kendall graffiti. I'll never forget that day!
I skated one back in the day. I forget the model, I just remember it had a big kick to the tail.

@@brendangeraghty8865 That Roskopp series with the monster busting through was cool.
Geeez so many legends, awesome footage Tony, thankyou!!❤🔥🙏
Launch ramps to us, kids without vert or parks, was our heaven. All day long.

Yep its all being rebuilt and part of the new Turf skatepark. Opens this fall.
It's crazy how long it took to realize that having a nose on your board really helped you Ollie higher.😂
Great video Tony. Was that Sacto? Think I saw Steve Yearsley in the mix... Killer footy🤙
