I still appreciate these readings. I appreciate the RUclipsrs that take time to upload these and arrange in playlists. I appreciate the volunteers that read too.
If you found OTR before monotone book readings, you’d understand. If you like Science Fiction, X-one (“pail of air” and “lifeboat”) are great examples. There was a radio show “Mindwebs” He read the stories, added a little music for atmosphere. Occasionally had a guest read with him, but this was done live, nothing fancy, yet it is a cult favorite and a form of audio theatre that’s dying due to cheaper podcasts of overpaid people talking about nothing for 10 hours. I’m sorry to not leave well enough alone, Because I don’t feel it’s “well enough” I’m just trying to help save a dying art.
Mix in the finest score for atmosphere… there is so much that could be done with these. I know these are popped out daily with volunteers. Start with a few science fiction reading already in the catalog… there are volunteers who will email you files of atmospheric music that you’ll barely hear. I am one of those who would do this.
