I LIKE THE GAME THERE I SAID IT. I see everything wrong with it and the longer I play the worse it gets. But, there's still something bringing me back. Maybe it's the "CRISPY CRITTERS!" He says every 5 minutes after he stops swearing... every... 5 minutes.

I went into the game completely blind. I was very sceptical at first. My only real complaint was the no FOV at first. I really thought I would hate the FOV more I ended up getting used to it. I had no issues with crashing. The dialog gets better and I thoroughly enjoyed playing the game. "Suffering" is far from an accurate word to describe the game. I ended up enjoying the game more as time went on.

It's been a while since I played them, but I recall the first person melee combat in The Chronicles Of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay and Assault On Dark Athena games being very good.

@@30cal23 I think Butcher Bay was on the original Xbox, but I played both of them on Xbox 360 because they came together on one disk.
I'd imagine they're also available on PC and one of the PlayStations. Maybe PS3?
If you're a Riddick fan I highly recommend playing the games. They're fun and officially canon.
Also, the animated film is called Dark Furry.
The Riddick games were awesome!! It’s graphics still hold up! Get Assault on Dark Athena for 360 because you get both games.

The cig wasn't backwards, it's a type of Russian cigarette that's short on the front and the back is white cardboard. Called papirosa. But yeah don't smoke filters
The worst part of this game is that it makes you genuinely not want to continue playing it the more you play it.
That's odd. I played though the entire game completely blind. As the story unveiled and I got used to the combat, I wanted to play more and more. The music is dynamically adjusted and there are some truly awesome moments.

Agreed, slow movement, and forced stealth an open world game isn't where its at.
Now i do find the dialogue kinda funny (cussing and corny jokes are funny to me)
But i cut them some slack because its the company first game
@@ZoraNextDoor there are like 4 movement upgrades in the character skill tree and there are vehicles in the open world. What more do you want? This isn't titanfall 2
@@ZoraNextDoor You also have to consider that most Americans are spoiled regarding games, us Americans get games for cheaper and also get triple-A games. Another factor for dialogue is that the game is native Russian so in English it doesn't sound like what we're used to. Although I would agree the game has too many glitches and should've been released after more testing.

Gotta say I don't really care what anybody says because what they have to say is pretty fucking true and I find a lot of it hilarious I just really enjoy this game it was worth the anticipation it was worth the wait and it's worth the many many deaths i'v totalled so far.

I literally uninstalled after the first 45 min, which 40 of is dialogue, but then realizing the shotgun sucks so I gave up lol
TRON legacy plot and writing is unfairly misremembered as being bad
They could of easily made the rowboat and flying sequence controllable by the player and allowed you to see or skip as much as they wanted. And they make you ride the elevator, just to get a key and then take it all the way back down again.

Played it, gameplay was cool, game is missing FOV slider or something to make the text bigger, soundtrack was amazing, story was wack, list goes on. crashes for everyone but only once for me. Overall I rate it a good 6/10
Tbh I’m having fun and I’m almost done with the game.
It has been confirmed they are gonna make 4 new dlcs of gameplay that takes place 2 in the past before the accident, 1 present and one is in the events after this

@@NipplWizard to me the combat is very similar to OG bioshock. All the weapons kinds start off dukey but the more I play the more fun I have

I agree with a lot of what you said. That being said i got a good couple chuckles from the dialog, and enjoyed the combat a little. i dont know why you had so many crashing issues. I didnt crash once and i just finished the game.

well the xbox app on PC is trash. Got the game on Steam and has never crashed on me.
The only thing I liked about the first 20 minutes, was discovering that I could completely dismember the dead bodies.

I do agree that it will be more of a cult classic. I do enjoy the game, and I hope Mundfish will make better games as they keep going.
I actually enjoyed the game but disliked the endings. Bosses seemed a little to tanky at times, even on normal. It has its enjoyable moments, such as the theater. I also enjoyed the puzzles, felt like it played like RE Village.
Tron Legacy was amazing. Plot was good, and characters were great
I felt personally attacked by what will said, it was my favorite childhood movie. I still watch it from time to time.

This game suffers what I like to call "Resident Evil Village Syndrome" The waifu material is more memorable than the product itself. However in this game's case, it's even worse because Resident Evil Village was received as a good game. Atomic Heart on the other hand was received poorly or at the very least mixed.

I'll say the Xbox console version of this wasn't nearly this buggy or crashy. But, yeah, it's definitely not for the faint of heart.
People who buy the game on day one without looking at videos or reviews are what is killing this industry.
I had a good amount of fun, but that is also because I didn't run into any bugs at all, and was not bothered by the FOV.
I enjoyed the combat once I got into the flow for me, but it definitely took a while, the fact that my playthrough was so problem free makes it so I still remember it sort of fondly even it it was not the best.
Skill issue. Atomic Heart is fun

The game runs pretty well on console so it's probably just an optimization issue.

"First person is so janky" when talking about melee... There's a reason for that. Have you actually seen any professional-level melee combat match IRL? It's perhaps more "elegant" and refined than what you see in a videogame, considering limitations, but there's rarely any twirling around and doing pirouettes like you would see in a third-person videogame. In armed combat, turning your back on an enemy even for a split second can spell doom for you, despite doing it to perform a cool spinning attack or anything of the sort...
Only places one can still perform some kind of acrobatics is in martial arts, and just barely, if there are moves included in your style that require such movement. And you know why is it possible, if barely so? Because it is done in a heavily regulated situation, such a sparring or competitive match.
Just watch a MMA match and count how often a fighter performs even a spinning kick, which is the most common and less intensive acrobatic attack in martial arts in general...

ive been playing it and honestly its pretty fun ive had no performance issues luckily (woooo xbox) but the dialogue is really bad unfortunatly but its funny bad so at least its entertaining. maybe i should switch it to russhian just to see if it feels better to listern to. and a really annoying thing is the dialogue jumps ahead if u do things too fast. but like normal people speed? so it tells you to pick something up as ur being given story info so u pick it up and it skips the lines to the lines after u pick it up, so ive missed quite afew stroy points because im fast?? but overall i am enjoying it! XD

I got to the "attempt at making grandma badass but failing in every way" and lost my entire ability to play it because of how boring it was.

I predownloaded this on my Series X, and when it came out I went to play it but it needed another 65GB update and I decided to just delete it. Glad I did 😅😂

To your point about no good first person melee combat, I will rebut that with Dishonoured, that game is the only good first person combat melee i've ever played.
As I've said to the others who've chimed in- it's passable, but not better than a good third person melee game. I'm not comparing them in a void. No first person melee holds a candle to third person melee

tbh the only thing I found annoying about this other than the no FOV slider, would be the parkour bits, the parkour just sucks , most of the time the reason for the parkour being hard to do is just it being broken and annoying to do, other bits of the game where fine in my opinion, combat is hard at the start obviously, get easier by upgrading weapons, should have had more movement upgrades like more dash though, definitely needed sprinting as well, other than that all that its just dialog, its goofy af half the time and just funny, cant take it seriously alot of the time

Same tbh, I played it mainly for the robot booba but also cause i saw quite a lot of cool little features were in it, didn’t encounter any problems actually, played the game, beat the game, and pretty much enjoyed it.

The dialogue kills it for me. Like. I didn’t really mind the rest, but, I’d prefer a silent protagonist over this 12 year old sounding humor.
To be fair.. ANY fps game, even from yesteryear, without an fov slider on pc ports should have their devs and publishers fined. The pain from motion sickness and migraines is indescribable to people who dont experience it. And no "just dont buy it" isnt an excuse. Unless its specifically stated to not have one in advertising or descriptions on the store pages, refusing to purchase is not a solution.
I finished the game, enjoyed it. Only crashed once. Bad luck I guess.

played the game for a bit. completely abysmal besides the environment. i feel so limited and there ARE SO MANY PUZZLES AND BUSYWORK ACTIVITES! it completely sucks. i understand it's mundfish's debut game, but this just aint it chief

Well, the only game that has acceptable first person combat is Cyberpunk 2077. Using your fist, clunky as hell. Using your Katana, most enjoyable weapon in the game. (Disappointed that you can’t block bullets like Raiden in MGR, but still.) Of course, thats only one game. So your point still stand.
I didn't like the game, but I can't really put a finger on why. It looked and sounded like a game but I didn't enjoy any of it, even though I played though all of it. It's not even a genre issue, I didn't play through all of DOOM or Deathloop, but those games centered more around the combat than the story, and they delivered. I played both of them until I felt I had had as much fun as I could.... but this game, I tried to like it and I just couldn't.

Good 1st person melee combat is such a rarity, and I've only seen it with Kimgdom Come Deliverance. That game is great.

i think the voicelines were Russian but they were put through Google translate for the US copies of the game

A game releasing this year should have an FoV slider if I can jump into a janky mess of a game from 2003 and it has one.
Why are game devs so apposed to FoV sliders nowadays?
They're nice to have, and some people need higher a higher FoV or they'll get motion sick.
Luckily I don't get motion sick but a higher FoV still looks nice.
Atomic Heart's the closest I've been to feeling my stomach churn due to the FoV.
Only ever seen footage of it, but that melee spin attack made me feel ill. and I don't even get motion sick from low FoV, they just feel wrong, like I'm going slower than anticipated.

I've been playing this game at home on my Xbox because it's free. I do agree the dialog is stupid and some parts drag on too long but I do have to say and it's probably because I'm on Xbox but I didn't have any crashes at all. And I've noticed that about a few games we're they crash all the time on PC but on Xbox their fine
The only game I've had crash on me for my Xbox was literally Titanfall 2 and that was it. Never happened again.

Well, Skyrim's intro takes upwards of 20-30 minutes every time you start it, which would be pretty frequent if you're modding the game. Atomic Heart's is really long but you'll never ever want to play it again after the first time.
