Thank you very much Chuck. I hope you’re staying cool down there. This was a fun project and we are also happy with how it came out. Dawn gets the credit for that. Thank you again for your compliments, Tom
So many comments to make about this job/video! All good, all deserving ❤❤❤Thanks for another great video, and a big thank you to the customer for providing an update video = )
Hi Johli. Thank you very much. This customer was very nice and easy to work for. That always makes a job more relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you again. You know we love those Johli comments. Tom
I’m a new subscriber. I have been doing landscaping for 18 years. I think you guys were an amazing find. I love this industry because there is always variables on every job. Sure the basics are the same but I’m constantly learning. This channel has such good nuggets of info. Thank you for the cool vids, I pick something new up on each one. I bet Tom has the most amazing dry personality. You don’t see or hear much of him but I can tell he’s a guy I would love to work along side with!!
Hello Baker and welcome. Thank you for taking the time to write this spectacular comment. You’re awesome and we look forward to hearing from you again. Thanks again and have a great day, Tom
Great videos. A little tip for pipe work for example at the 29:20ish mark when she is gluing the pipe and fittings if you glue the fitting onto the small piece of pipe first and then that into the main section of pipe. It’s easier to slope, because you are giving the slope to the pipe and not the fitting.
We waited, but none else showed up and installed the basin. So, we took care it. I guess that does make us the catch basin ferries - lol. Have a good evening Michael, Tom
Hi Tom! Great video demo. I wish we lived in your area and could have you install one for us as we are in the process of having a box replaced for a new driveway. Two questions for you as we get ready to replace the existing one.. The first is what type of drill bit you used to drill through the box and concrete. My second question is whether there was rebar inside the box used to support concrete in some fashion.
Thank you Karla. No rebar. The instructions didn’t call for it. Here is a link to the drill bit - Diablo DMAMX1140 3/4 in. x 16 in.... www.amazon.com/dp/B089KWP4WK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. Thanks again and good luck with your project, Tom
Thank you for your compliment. That's the way a catch basin works. The pipe is not supposed to be on the bottom of a catch basin so any debris falls to the bottom and is filtered out. Without holes the water would just sit there. I hope I answered your question. Thank again
The Two ladies on "Culverts Bridges and Ditches" head the same problem with their cameras dying because of the heat. And I saw the Kempinger videos too,
Hello LVR, It is a shame. We usually tape with 2 gopros so if we loose one we have a backup, but both crapped out. We're going to find a way to use an umbrella to shade them when it's hot. Hopefully that does the trick. Thank you for your comment, Tom
Great video/ Great job. Question that is itching my brain and maybe you could help... When you set the receiver 1in lower 8ft from the laser that will work no matter the distance of trench to always achieve 1%? or is that the specific for your 20ft? Thanks
What's your go-to for cutting asphalt? Concrete saw with a diablo blade? Or would any saw with a diablo blade work? Gonna use your downspout method for a gutter but have to go through some asphalt between there and the end of the downspout drain run.
Hi Phil, In this video I'm using a dedicated asphalt blade. It worked great, but it's just for asphalt. In our latest paver video - Front yard makeover, I used a multi purpose blade and it worked fantastic. It went through asphalt, pavers and block like butter. Now I can just leave the one blade on and tackle everything. I hope I answered your question. Nice, but what I see from the " kempinger berlin drain videos" Germany, the baskets in the drains are useless, dirt still ends up in the bottom of the drains and plugs them up. no one ever takes the baskets out and cleans them either.
I agree with you Terry. This customer is pretty handy so I'm sure he will check it. I told him he should clean it out with a shop vac every 6 months or so. Thank you very much, Tom
Where did you get the catch basin? I need to order one so my client can run over it with his truck in the yard. Also, what’s the reason to drill holes on bottom of the drain box? I’ll assume you want all water go in the pipe and not in ground under the box
Hello Matthew, I bought the catch basin on Amazon. The pipe is not at the bottom of the basin so the basin would hold a small amount of water if there were no holes. Amazon link - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DOSIG5K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
John, we bought wireless microphones over the winter. Starting this year our videos have little to no music, because our audio has improved. Thank you for your feedback, Tom
Its therapeutic to watch professionals do such a good job

I love watching you and your husband's interactions ❤, you guys make a lovely couple. Can I ask what part of the US you guys live?
Thank you very much for your compliments and nice comment. We are in New Jersey. Thanks again and have a good day

Looks nice.. Why were holes drilled in the bottom of the basin? I would have thought all the water would go through the pip out to the creek...

We have sloped the laser and that will work as far as the laser light goes. About a 1000 feet I believe. Have a good day

hi you two are so industrious. Great vids, like the smiles, the music for me is distracting, loud. Just me.
Thank you very much FRDM and thank you for your feedback.

25:00 The audio could be a little clearer. The StudPack channel uses wireless microphones with a dead at. Maybe you can try using one.
We just upgraded to the wireless mics and we used them in our latest video. The audio is much better. Thank you for your feedback, Tom
People don't realize you got to clean out these things at least twice a year
I agree Mary. Thank you for your comment. Tom
Great work guys!
Thank you very much Lee. Have a great day, Tom
Good content but your music inserts are excruciating. Keeps me from subscribing. Maybe a voiceover instead or silence; nothing wrong with silence.
