atoms initially of cold gas at stable state
passing white light causes electrons to excite and become unstable
electrons drop to their lower initial energy level to return to stable state
1-Electrons absorb energy from specific white light photons
2-electrons excite and move to higher energy
3-energy of photon absorbed = to differnece in energy between energy levels
4-exited electrons must stabilise and return back initial energy level
5-hence electrons emit photon in all directions instead of original direction of scope of screen thus not getting detected on scope of screen

hi miss, in the absorption spectrum, how does the energy released by an excited electron, in the form of a photon not go in a random direction, why is it visible straight onto the absorption spectrum?

Why do waves form at energy levels only

Tip: think about stationary wave harmonics ;)

So the electron is like us. More attractive girls we get excited, ugly girl we don't get excited😂
