Best walk through video of Havens resort I have seen. Spent 2022 New year eve there .I was looking at other video before I went there there weren't that many. You video is very detailed. Place is beautiful, food is good, when we where there they did not have buffet for dinner, only restaurants. I wish they had that, but breakfast and lunch where wery good. The only other thing I wish they had is better music at the activity pool wich was very quiet. GREAT JOB ON THE VIDEO 👍👍👍

But we both agree, stopping at the cancun airport duty free store across from baggage claim was the best idea. It just saves a headache if you want to have drinks in your room later. Enjoy your trip!

Hey Thanks! This video was taken the first week of February 2022 (not during seaweed season). We stayed in oceanfront building 1 also and loved it. The resort itself is not that big compared to some other resorts we've stayed at. You're not far from anything so the walk is not bad. Building 1 is one of the quieter buildings and we enjoyed that aspect of it. You made a quality choice. Let me know if there's any other questions you might have. Happy Travels
I went there a few weeks after it opened! It wasn’t the best experience because I think it was new but always wondered if it had gotten better. The beach looks better. Wasn’t great when I was there.

We were there a few months after they opened and had a similar experience as you did. I think they rushed into opening before they were ready and had the growing pains to prove it. @@3Days3Noches I'm a big fan of the layout of this resort, and that it's not a family/adult only combined resort. Being close to the airport and not driving to the opposite side of Tulum helps also. This resort does check a lot of boxes.
We are used to accessing private areas, like the Serenity Club, at other resorts and cruise lines using secure key card for access. Is this the case here or can anybody just walk into the Serenity Club areas?
Thanks for the walk through. We're headed there in June. The resort appeared to have very little traffic / people around. Are most people just out doing other things in Cancun or was it pretty much like that most of the time? Does it get a lot busier at night? Or is it still pretty quiet overall?
Overall it is a quieter resort especially compared to the Cancun Hotel Zone and Playa Del Carmen. The beach is waaaay more quieter also. If your looking for a party atmosphere I'd recommend a different resort. If your looking for a chill vibe, then this is your place. Happy travels!

Thanks. I appreciate the compliment! The coffee shop is included. If I remember correctly, they open at 6:00am. But you can have anything delivered to your room 24/7. Sometimes we got a pot of coffee delivered to the room. Enjoy your honeymoon! You made a good choice. If the seaweed is bad when you are there, the pool is always a good time :)
Hi there! Fantastic video! We have a group of 8 going in July. We're super excited. I have a question about the restaurant attire for the men. For most of the restaurants it is long pants or dressy shorts. As far as shirts go, I had noticed on a few other videos that some of the guys wore shirts that didn't have collars but were somewhat dressier shirts. I have a couple shirts that are dressy but don't have collars. So do they have to be collared?
Thanks for the compliment! Only one restaurant Olios requires long pants, closed toe shoes and collar shirt for men. That's the only restaurant that requires reservations also. "Resort Casual" is fine for the other restaurants. Enjoy your trip!

Hi jsil36. Thanks for watching. My wife and I thought the serenity package was worth it for one main reason. An extra level of privacy. With the serenity package we got the oceanfront room, and the beach at Haven doesn't get much traffic so you can use the hot tub and sitting area on your balcony without much worry of who can see you (especially with the end buildings). We used the serenity lounge occasionally. Overall the privacy made it worth it for us. Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy Travels!

Thanks for the compliment! We've traveled in Sept and Oct when it's the peak of rainy season an never had more than an hour or so randomly. Never had affected anything. Definitely no worries in November. The SC rooms have bathtubs but they're all located on the balconies. Just a shower inside the room. You made a good choice!
Thank you for the compliment! Covid testing was a smooth operation and very professional (no bribes to get a negative test like at other resorts). If you are a US citizen they will administer an antigen test the day before you leave. If negative they will give you the proper paperwork to board your flight. If Canadian, you will receive a PCR test. If you test positive. You return to your room for quarantine. On checkout day you get relocated to building 6 to continue quarantine for 5 days (10 days for Canadian citizens). You are looked after by a doctor and staff in quarantine but you do have to stay in your room. They bring you any food from the room service menu but no liquor. After quarantine the doctor will write you a note to board your plane to get home. All of quarantine is free of charge. All of the staff wears masks but not the guests so much.
how was the beach for swimming? Looking like I will be attending in November - around the 19th in 2022 and worried about the amount of seaweed and lack of ppl who are swimming in every review?
The water was a bit cold when we were there in February. Haven definitely focuses on their pool more than their beach. If a swimable beach is important to you, maybe this might not be the correct choice for you. Fingers crossed for the seaweed.
@@dnmyeah294 already locked it in for haven so no going back now… went to iberostar cancun last time and the beach was insanely perfect… but ultimately if there isn’t much seaweed in the time of the year that’s pretty much all you can hope for?

Although we spent our days at the pool, I did see the servers deliver drinks to the beach and swim-up rooms. If you want food at the pool or beach, you can order from the poolside restaurants "to go". We've stayed at Secrets, sandals, excellence, etc... and would put Haven in the same category with them.
The SC rooms give you an extra level of privacy being oceanfront. For us, that was worth the price of admission. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. Happy travels
Yes there is seating outside at the normal buffet. They also set up an outside lunch buffet by the rectangle pool sometimes. If you book a serenity club room, there is a special restaurant called Vistas that's outside above the round pool. You can also order from the poolside restaurant and take it to poolside.
The spa (massages, facial, etc..) was not included in the price. You will need to make a reservation for those and look to pay about 1.5x the amount you would pay at home. If you book a serenity club room category, you do get to use their water therapy circuit (hot tub, cold tub) for 30 minutes a day free of charge.
They had lobster as an up charge (maybe $60USD) at the sit down restaurants. We didn't order it though. When we were there in high season they had the buffet open for dinner and had lobster claws in the buffet which were good. If I remember correctly the beers are domestic with Tectate and Dos Equis. The import was Coors light.
Actually Olios is the Mediterranean restaurant, I believe they incorporated filet mignon into some dishes. The Mexican restaurant doubles up as their Steakhouse also. The steaks on the inclusive menu were very good. There is an upcharge starting around $60USD (I think) for the "premium" steaks.
I'm sorry that I don't remember the room number and I asked my wife also. We emailed the resort the week prior to arrival and requested Building 1 because it was quiet and close to the quiet pool. It's the furthest from the main building and restaurants but the extra few minute walk did not bother us. Check out the Facebook group for Haven Resort. Lots of people mentioning room numbers in that group. Enjoy your trip!

Thank you for the compliment! We had no trouble with bugs in February. We've been to the region in September/October and we definitely needed the bug spray then. We didn't do any paid activities/excursions on or off the resort. Never underestimate my laziness on vacation! One thing that we wish we had done was attend the nightly shows. There was a Studio 54 night, a casino night, and a burlesque show that we wanted to attend, but because we wanted to pass our Covid tests to get home we stayed away from the crowds.
@@Rachel-en1zz September and October is considered rainy/hurricane season. With that being said, we've traveled to the area 12+ times at that time of the year. Never had one trip ruined by rain. You might get an hour of rain but it moves out in a hurry. I'd say similar to southern Florida, with the rain coming and going quickly. It's the cheapest time of the year to go, so that's why we've been there so many times in the fall. The resort won't be crowded then either. Book your trip and don't sweat the weather.

Serenity club did not offer a special place on the beach. The biggest thing about the serenity club is the oceanfront view and more privacy (depending on the building). We viewed the actual "club" and "Butler" (I use that term very loosely) as an after though. The privacy in building 1 was worth it for us. The view from the partial ocean view rooms was still good but we wanted a little extra privacy.
@@heyrey818 not all of the serenity club rooms are in the "quiet" building. If you want a more lively time, about a week prior to arrival, email the resort and request Building #4. Building #1 and #5 are the quieter buildings.
No reservation system for the cabanas. They're first come, first serve. The towel game was in effect when we were there in February. Choice spots by the pool were gone by 9am. It was actually easier getting spots on the beach than the pool. Enjoy your stay. You made a good choice!

We've been using USA TRANSFERS for years. They have been on time, every time. Highly recommend. Read their reviews on TripAdvisor.

No microwaves in the room unless you get the penthouse suite. Plan B would be to pick up a $50 microwave at Walmart down the street.
Was the spa included or was that an extra charge ? Going there in July and I wanted to know 🤣🥴 because I’m excited about that part. Loved this video.
The spa (massages, facial, etc..) was not included in the price. You will need to make a reservation for those and look to pay about 1.5x the amount you would pay at home. If you book a serenity club room category, you do get to use their water therapy circuit (hot tub, cold tub) for 30 minutes a day free of charge.
How is the seafood any lobster.. what beer they have..
They had lobster as an up charge (maybe $60USD) at the sit down restaurants. We didn't order it though. When we were there in high season they had the buffet open for dinner and had lobster claws in the buffet which were good. If I remember correctly the beers are domestic with Tectate and Dos Equis. The import was Coors light.
Another question... were steaks extra coast at steakhouse Olios?

Actually Olios is the Mediterranean restaurant, I believe they incorporated filet mignon into some dishes.
The Mexican restaurant doubles up as their Steakhouse also. The steaks on the inclusive menu were very good. There is an upcharge starting around $60USD (I think) for the "premium" steaks.

I'm sorry that I don't remember the room number and I asked my wife also. We emailed the resort the week prior to arrival and requested Building 1 because it was quiet and close to the quiet pool. It's the furthest from the main building and restaurants but the extra few minute walk did not bother us.
Check out the Facebook group for Haven Resort. Lots of people mentioning room numbers in that group.

What do the deluxe Marina rooms look like and are they in building 4?
I don't recall there being a marina in the close proximity. I didn't see a Marina category room on the Haven website.
Were there a lot of mosquitoes when you went? What are the best free and paid activities through the resort? Was there anything you regretted doing, or would pass on next time? Thank you so much for this detailed review.

We had no trouble with bugs in February. We've been to the region in September/October and we definitely needed the bug spray then.
We didn't do any paid activities/excursions on or off the resort. Never underestimate my laziness on vacation!
One thing that we wish we had done was attend the nightly shows. There was a Studio 54 night, a casino night, and a burlesque show that we wanted to attend, but because we wanted to pass our Covid tests to get home we stayed away from the crowds.

@@Rachel-en1zz September and October is considered rainy/hurricane season. With that being said, we've traveled to the area 12+ times at that time of the year. Never had one trip ruined by rain. You might get an hour of rain but it moves out in a hurry. I'd say similar to southern Florida, with the rain coming and going quickly. It's the cheapest time of the year to go, so that's why we've been there so many times in the fall. The resort won't be crowded then either.

Serenity club did not offer a special place on the beach. The biggest thing about the serenity club is the oceanfront view and more privacy (depending on the building). We viewed the actual "club" and "Butler" (I use that term very loosely) as an after though. The privacy in building 1 was worth it for us.
The view from the partial ocean view rooms was still good but we wanted a little extra privacy.
@@dnmyeah294 Are all the serenity club rooms in the quiet building? Should you call to request that specifically after you book?
@@heyrey818 not all of the serenity club rooms are in the "quiet" building. If you want a more lively time, about a week prior to arrival, email the resort and request Building #4. Building #1 and #5 are the quieter buildings.
Was there options for gluten free food?
Yes there were gluten free options at every meal. The servers also ask about any food allergies before ordering. Happy Travels!

Are the covered cabanas first come first serve or do you have to reserve/rent them? Great vid, thank you...we will be going this Oct!!
No reservation system for the cabanas. They're first come, first serve. The towel game was in effect when we were there in February. Choice spots by the pool were gone by 9am. It was actually easier getting spots on the beach than the pool.

The USD is greatly accepted in the area. With both of them being the right answer. We tip in USD just because it's easier for us. Enjoy Haven! It's a classy place.
