@@two697 Well it's hard to judge cause I feel like I did terrible at points and at other points it just felt like a chat between me and the interviewers... we'll have to wait and see. Good luck!
@@abelcastanedar2076 best of luck. Interviews almost always feel like they go terrible. Sometimes your gut feeling is right, sometimes it's wrong. Hoping you've done well enough. How'd you find the ENGAA and what college did you apply to?
I've got an interview next Tuesday for history and politics at St John's. I just hope not to be embarrassed in front of those world-class experts Also, nice to see a city fan
Same, I’ve got an interview for St. John’s for Medicine on Tuesday. Honestly, I’m freaking out about looking stupid in front of these doctors with PhDs, but everyone is telling me it’s just an opportunity to nerd out about science with some world renowned experts, which has made me feel slightly better 🤷♀️. Anyway, good luck with your interview!!!
Thanks to those who replied to my comment. I have finished my interview: politics was ok, but history was a disaster, so I probably will not get in. A few tips for humanity students: 1 Read around your PS and your submitted works, but don't anticipate the question because you can't 2 When the interview is not going in the right direction, take a few moments to think and pull it back. Even silence is better than saying something stupid that will completely ruin the interview 3 Write down as many questions and your responses as you can remember after the interview. No matter what the outcome is, your interview is still an experience worth recording 4 Don't be too dedicated to go to Oxbridge, because there is a high chance you are going to be disappointed. But don't let the fear put you off, because it is always worth trying (Think about Mill's high quality of happiness)
Your manner of speaking is so clear and calming. Great content, well delivered! Even though I don’t give a toss about Cambridge, I enjoy your videos on it.
This is perfect timing, lol - I've my interview for medicine at Sidney Sussex this Friday, and the advice not only calmed my nerves, but also gave real and *actually* useful tips as opposed to other videos out there. Will definitely be implementing the advice given over the following few days. Thank you so much, and all the best to you! :D
This is very useful to me - I have a cambridge engineering interview on the 6th, hopefully I can apply some of this during the interview! I'll update soon
Love how my advice was to look at the camera and did that exactly 0 times in the video haha Thanks for having me on! Gl to everyone with interviews coming up :)
I'm already studying at uni and really happy where I am, but somehow these videos are still very entertaining and interesting to watch.. As well as the non-Cambridge videos by the way!! Keep up the good work Francis!
Thank you so much for this video! I had my pbs test for selwyn college on Wednesday and I have my interview on the 13th, this is just perfect timing! :))
Has anyone found with virtual interviews this year they seem reluctant to get into a proper back and forth conversation? I just kinda answered and they moved on (to a different question or question related to my answer) apart for a few times where they gave some engagement then just to almost retreat 😭
Mine too! It was really odd, I just answered and they nodded and asked a completely different question. Kind of off putting considering you’re told to expect loads of academic discourse at interview :/
If they don’t pretend they don’t know you are they even your friends 😂😂 Edit: I’ve already been to uni and it wasn’t oxbridge so I dunno why I’m watching these videos haha
I’ve got an interview tomorrow (!!!) for PBS and I feel in equal parts terrified and excited. Hopefully I’ll be able to do my best! Btw thanks a lot for this video :)
I have my interview in a few days, I applied for Psychological and Behavioural Sciences and I'm really uncertain of what they will ask me about the subject. I'm wondering if anyone could clue me into if the questions are more math based (like statistics) or more theoretical?
I've got two modern and medieval languages interviews tomorrow. I can barely answer English questions let alone French and Russian ones. My speaking skills have really gone downhill because when we did lessons online we never practiced speaking. I didn't even sit my GCSE speaking!!!! Why am I doing this to myself?
Hi! Thank you so much for the video, it was very helpful. I have a PBS interview this Wednesday and I'm wondering did they ask anything very specific to the biological part o psychology during your interview? Biology is not my best subject so I'm quite worried about that :D
@@edenjst I just finished it! I can’t tell you what they asked me but they did start from my personal statement and question the parts I said I was interested in. Hope that might help :)) and good luck!!
Hii thanks for the video it was really helpful as I have an interview for chemical engineering next friday :) Just a question for anyone who knows I'm an international applicant so I had no idea we had to discuss about books in my personal statement :0 would this affect me negatively and also are what are some of the places i can find resources to prepare for interviews as i dont really have the same support or prep from my school?
I hadn't heard of anything like that when I interviewed, but I think times have changed since so hopefully it will be an option in future regardless of COVID
