Hopp Schwiiz!! Brilliant videos. Very informative. Thank you for doing this…. Just ordered the whole package today…. With your help I should get up and running quickly! Tschuss!
Thanks Ken, and acknowledged. I bought a microphone in the meantime, which fixed that problem. Never videos shouldn’t have the echo. Thanks for bearing with it 🙏
Javier: I love your videos. They are better than Shaper’s! I was wondering if you would do a very basic video on engraving, explaining bits, settings, and basic tips for beginners. It seems timely now that Shaper has SLFs.
Sorry. Single Line Fonts. What are the best bits for those? What are the best bits for non-SLF engraving. Does it depend on how deep you are engraving? How deep should you engrave? Does the type of wood matter? How deep should you engrave per pass. Can you cut all the way through 20mm to engrave (is that even engraving or is it carving?). Why are engraving bits always set at .02 inches diameter in the videos? Do you need to use offsetting while engraving (I saw one person do that in RUclips). Lots of questions that spring to my novice mind! Shaper tutorials do not cover this in basic form.
@@Wyman642 Got you. I am happy to make a new video about this, but need some time to think about it. In the meantime, you will find some helpful information in these videos: ruclips.net/video/dyiF8kUX5Vw/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/BtAmp1RZT0o/видео.html
Welcome to the Shaper family, Jim! I wish you tons, and tons, and tons of fun with your new wonder-machine! And really glad to hear that this video was helpful to you! You can find more SO tips & tricks on this playlist: ruclips.net/video/dxQzrpSP1HU/видео.html
Thanks for the summary. Allow me one question: Did you ever use a downcut bit (in order to get a fine finished edge and a reduced badspots (in case of cut-through), or do you think, that a compression bit (up/down cutting) is sufficient?

Hopp Schwiiz! Thank you for your kind words, I am very happy to hear if this was helpful. And I wish you a lot of fun with your Shaper Origin!
You have been a great resource for Origin knowledge! Thank you...
Most welcome, Mark, glad you find these videos helpful 😁🎉
I wish you would fix the echo in your audio. Otherwise i like your channel. Nice display of accessories.

Great advice. The only other thing I would add is a dovetail cutter if you want to make nice-looking joints on the workstation. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Thank you Paul :D Yes, agree, that is a good bit. The only reason I didn't add it is because I have never used it up until now, haha...
Thanks so much for these videos. And in an unsolicited comment- You could win the Origin internet with a better mic.
Most welcome, and yeah, you are not the first one to mention this 😆

I am happy to make such a video. If you can let me know what your main questions are, I can bake that in. Also, what are SLFs?

Most welcome 😁 I have never tried out a downcut bit I fear. I think it works well with the compression bit, but then again I can’t compare...
Useful stuff. Thank you
Thank you - really pumped you found it helpful :D
Finally, a good reason to buy scissors.
You are welcome 😆
gracias javier
Como siempre, con mucho gusto 😁
Buy a better microphone 🎙 I
Haha, yeah, I did do that in the meantime 😂
