Got myself some second hand plastic pedals with metal pins today and I am very proud to say that it is grippier than my last cheap metal pedals, pretty excited to ride on it during the weekend, will update here about how it went 😁 Edit: I've been using them for a month now and holy heck do they feel amazing, they just stick to my feet, I can do bunny hops more comfortably now ❤️
I feel safer on metal pedals, I'm tall an stocky so I don't feel like plastic pedals can support my full weight as easily, plus I think if I hit them hard on a curb or a rock they would break easily. I LOVE the colors of the plastic pedals so I often wonder if I should change my pedals purely for style. But in my country the american BMX plastic pedals cost as much as locally made BMX metal pedals.
i have metal pedals for my mtb but i took my bike in for a service so im using my brothers bike but he has plastic pedals and they are slippery as hell
I ride metal pedals and the other day I accidentally slammed my cranks back, throwing the pedal right into my left leg and holy crap the pins tore into my skin. I was bleeding like crazy. Honestly considering switching to plastic because that shit fucking hurt. Also I was in shorts :'(
Its clear that you dont have any clue. You compare pedals for different riding style. Plastic pedals for mtb have same pins as metal pedals have... And this topic is very long! next time when you compare something be more prepared.

I didn't even consider that metal pedals can be dangerous. I will stick with my stock pedals for now ;)

Have you ever broken a pedal? If so, do you know what caused it?
