    This guy can be our future especially if we draft a power back such as marlon Mack or D'onte Foreman and give it a one two punch with speed and power. It'll be Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw all over again but we need to buff up our o-line especially left tackle most importantly cause we can't have Erick flowers guarding and for C,RG,RT,LT we're fine but just need an LT

    I'm all about drafting an rb this year, but I'm more interested in drafting one that compliments Perkins. Samaje Pearine in Round 4 would be ideal for me.

      Flowers is actually a really beastly run blocker. His passblocking is what has been fucking awful. Hopefully this year he has gotten that straightened out. Our middle 3 are good we just need some consistency from the LT & RT.

  • @mmdaniels33
    @mmdaniels33 7 лет назад +16

    Perkins has tons of upside, not just saying that as a giants fan. they still need to bring in someone to take some touches off him, but he's going to be special in this league. Don't ruin his career by trying to turn him into an every down guy, let him go 65 35 with someone.

    • @CharmCityMediaMD
      @CharmCityMediaMD 7 лет назад

      "tons of upside" "he's going to be special in this league". Based on what?! Take a look at his metrics. Mediocre as can be! www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/paul-perkins/

    • @mmdaniels33
      @mmdaniels33 7 лет назад

      LitTube Channel Metrics are just the cover of a players book, that is it., I look at tape and stats. Do you know how many guys have had GREAT measurables and not made it in this league? Hahah. Look at Richard Sherman's measurables, they are nothing special. Yet he is a unanimous top 3 corner in the league. Perkins averaged 4.2 yards a carry behind the worst run blocking line In the league. His cuts and agility are through the roof.. if he can just take it a step further next year, Damn. look out. The combine can't test some of the most important aspects of athletes.. take workout warriors with a grain of salt. Teez tabor ran a 4.7 at his pro day as a corner. Let's hear what you have to say about him before he gets into the NFL? I'm curious.

    • @CharmCityMediaMD
      @CharmCityMediaMD 7 лет назад

      It's not just about the workout metrics from combine/pro day to assess talent of an RB. It's also about the college yards per carry, breakout age, college dominator, college target share, BMI. You have to take into account all the metrics. Of course there are talented NFL players that aren't great athletes. Example is Willie Snead in New Orleans. But Willie Snead demonstrated other good metrics coming out of college that weren't related to his combine/pro day measurables.
      People also forget how important offensive line play is to a running back. For example, many are now assuming Jay Ajayi is this uber-talented running back when in reality he's just a hard runner behind a great run blocking O-line in Miami. On the flip side, Ezekiel Elliott actually *is* an uber-talented running back in a vacuum *plus* runs behind an amazing run blocking O-line in Dallas. However, you wouldn't know all this by the eye test alone (aka watching film).
      All this to say, Paul Perkins is in for a rough season next year. And I'm sorry nobody commenting on this video can see it. Perkins could be productive behind a top run blocking O-line just as many other NFL running backs can. But, he is no special talent. He is completely tethered to what his O-line allows him to do. And in New York, it won't be much.

    • @mmdaniels33
      @mmdaniels33 7 лет назад

      LitTube Channel I'm a gambling man, and I only say things if I were willing to put money behind what I'm saying. Only time will tell, but Perkins is a back who showed unbelievable vision and agility, with the ability to lower his pads and add yards. All the things you are saying mean nothing to me, it's just a small factor. We now see what this kid is capable of, if you can't, you clearly are terrible at evaluating talent. Also knocking ajayi?! Lol. Dude is banger, reminds me of Marshawn Lynch. Ajayi is an unreal back, who is explosive and is a guy who will bowl forward on every play.

    • @CharmCityMediaMD
      @CharmCityMediaMD 7 лет назад

      I think you're the one who doesn't know how to evaluate talent. Any running back can look great in the right system or with excellent run blocking; it doesn't mean they are talented in a vacuum. That is why you need to go beyond the film/eye test. To give you a different example, Todd Gurley is a truly talented running back, so much so that in his rookie year coming off a serious injury, he was able to produce at a monster level even with poor run blocking efficiency by the Rams O-line. Granted, last year he struggled a lot, but that comes with the territory of playing behind a poor line.
      So what I'm saying is, you put a mediocre back like Paul Perkins behind a sub-par offensive line, and he will not produce. He needs great run blocking from his line in order to look good. He doesn't have the talent to make something out of nothing, like Todd Gurley and a handful of other RB's in the league can.

    damn this guy is a G, can catch run and is durable looking, we will see how he is as the MAN now... Giants are forced to give him a shot. Marshall/Engram will make it easier for him, if he stays healthy, I don't see how he doesn't get 1000 yards rushing.

    • @CharmCityMediaMD

      And that would be false. Comparing the players in a vacuum, it is clear Zeke is still the better talent by nearly every metric, regardless of offensive line play.
