I didn’t believe her till Neze got to the part where she actually graduated… To be honest I was already thinking what type of fake church is this… so I kind of understand his reaction. Maybe it was hard but…I still wonder what degree she had. Without trying to bring down anyone, it just leaves me in doubts.

The pastor should not have embarrassed her like that because public speaking is not easy for everybody. Speaking from experience there was a time I came out to give a testimony at church and I froze when I saw the crowd lol I just sang and dropped my gift and went back to my seat. If the pastor did not believe her he can always get clarification after the church service.

I was shocked when I watched this. He should have checked rather than say it’s a lie. He’s since apologised to her as she was right but obviously had stage fright and couldn’t express herself or say the exact degree she got. She’s also asked people to let it go and she’s staying in the church. A true forgiving Christian 🙏🏾

The Pastor in charge of testimonies are supposed to listen to every testimonies before bringing the Church members to the pulpit. This is to be able to avoid such an embarrassing situation whereby a member can not properly express their thoughts or testimonies. After all, some testimonies are written as a letter because some members can not face the congregation.
Si truth ,other churches do that so that when you stand to do your testimony or go off track they will quickly intervene and finish it for you in a good way, because the time you were talking it was not infront of a large crowd so you did not get the fright

Truth b told, her issue was not just accent. Grammar, tenses, pronunciation - everything was off.
Also, she couldn't State d xact degree she graduated with. Actually, d woman's story was kinda not easy 2 believe.
But d pastor was wrong. Embarrassing her there & den was wrong. And instead of apologizing publicly d same way he embarrassed her, he went secretly, cutting corners.
And I'm sure, if dis woman finished her testimony with a car gift or one huge envelope, cash transfer or donation 2d church, he wouldn't hv embarrassed her lik he did

It's not about accent. She couldn't speak proper English. And in Nigeria English is the official language. In law, the wrong grammar hinder a lawyer from proper representation of clients.
Even me I was shocked at the law graduate, then Bsc law .....
However he could have corrected her in a better way.

This is just the culture that has been encouraged concerning leadership in Nigeria over the years. Humility and empathy in leadership is seen as weakness, instead authoritarianism with iron-fist rule is encouraged. The Church leaders are regarded as very high up while the members are way down. I hope the culture around Church leadership improves for the better . Many people are emotionally agnostic or atheist already, they are just church goers.

Oh, I agree that was completely not the way to treat any human being. Even if we correct, we should do it in love. Our words should be seasoned with salt. We expect a man of God to have the spirit of discernment. I also love the message and video that the lady put out. It takes great courage to do so. The church should just employ her as the church lawyer because it may be difficult for her to get a job after the public show of shame. Now, i rest my case.
