    • @BrianFeroldiYT

      Announcements are the press release with the data (Or the company telling you when they plan on releasing earnings). The earnings call usually happens one hour after they release earnings and is management providing commentary

    Hi Brian (!) how do you evaluate what portion of the free cash flow is re-invested in the business.

    • @stoffelbrian
      @stoffelbrian 3 года назад

      Hi Murat. If it's FCF it's NOT being reinvested in the business. That usually occurs via capital expenditures (what you subtract from Cash from Operations to get FCF) or in Research and Development.

    • @mnuman22
      @mnuman22 3 года назад +1

      @@stoffelbrian Thank you for the clarification. As an ameteur investor, I have always thought that there were five uses of FCF, 1. dividents 2. share re-purchase 3. debt payment 4. acquisitions 5. re-investment in the company. Regarding #5, you are saying that this can be best evaluated not by using FCF numbers but by looking at the capital and R&D expenditures.

    I don't understand why these people call this an useful video. It is giving them general information which they could learn if they look at the financial statements using websites like Amassing invesmtent or Yahoo finance. This doesn't give any information on how to use the earnings report to make actionable decision. What in the earnings report does make the stock price to go up or down. It has no such information. Honestly, it is just video explaining features of earnings report and that's it

    Interesting, heard about watching the earning beat expectations or not. My opinion, this is the most useless info. No matter how good this company is, as long as earning lower than estimated, price is down; regardless how bad this company did, higher than estimate, price go high. The ironic thing is over 90% of estimatitions are not accurate, but wall stree pay so much money to hire the analysts who can estimate. Why? Why? Why? Because they know as long as people compare the earning with estimate, regardless what’s the results, they will trade. Then Wall Street got millions of money for trading fee, consultant fees. That’s the old tricks they play for years, but sadly everyone falls in it.
