- Hey, how's it going everybody? I'm Phlinger Phoo and today Ark's Last Dino has just hit the servers, that's right the Rhyiognatha has landed! This is the Dino that won the last community vote to hit the servers. Have fun taming this sucker, it's a beast! In this video I discuss where to find and how to tame this massive bug!

I wanna thank you phlinger with this being the last creature you have now finally taught me how to tame every creature in Ark. Kinda bitter sweet moment.
Like ASA isn't adding new creatures for him to teach...

I really want a coffee mug that say ABCs of Ark with "Ark" under the A, "Basics" under the B, and "Coffee" under the C.
A few more things about these creatures. They can pick any land creature smaller than a giga or bronto. This includes a diplo or a paracer, even with a platform saddle, though if you have anything built on it the paracer will fall after a few seconds. They can skate along the surface of the water as well as dive, although they have pretty middling swim speed and must resurface for air. You can wield weapons from the saddle. Shots from weapons you wield while mounted pass through them harmlessly. These traits combine to make taming pens for land creatures obsolete; you can simply grab a rex and hold it in the air while pelting it with tranqs. I HIGHLY recommend them as an early tame if you can find low level ones to start with as even a lowbie provides so much utility that it’s entirely worth sacrificing another tame, even if you can’t meet the cravings. Mine was birth from a lv 133 rex (tamed at something like lv 70) because I didn’t realize the host stats mattered and a level 95 mother and I only met a few of the cravings. It’s still become my go-to flyer. They do have a glitch associated with them where dismounting forces the PoV to 3rd person but that’s pretty minor

You kinda missed several features for this video Phlinger old boy- they have a Yuti like roar scaring off any but the biggest threats including Wyverns so ideal for egg stealing (I'll assume Rock Drakes as well). They can go underwater so useful for air, land and sea. They also seem stun immune so anything from Thylas to Jellyfish cannot desaddle the riders. They're also not breedable.
😮 oh boy, another person who believes the jellyfish shenanigan, no they aren't immune to jellyfish atleast not on console, I believed this at first and nearly lost one to it-

Great video, very helpful and funny as always. Looks like it come out with your colors, at least it looked green to me. I hope you continue these whenever ark2 finally comes out. Regardless, can't wait to see your future content.

I really hope there'll be an optimised way of bringing the level up on these things, especially since you can't breed them yourself for mutations.

@@chloenelson3951 it takes more of the mutations the bigger the creature is so it will take more mutations off a giga then a trike
I don't play ARK anymore but damn this brings on a heavy dose of nostalgia listening to Phlinger do an ABC.

"Everything you need to know"
I can show you what was missing:
•You need to look out for the drag weight of the dino you want to sacrifice, if its below a certain point it will not get maxed stats
>Bronto or Giga are the best options
•The cravings are really important
>everytime you give them what they want, the baby will get 1 Stat of the mother OR the Sacrifice
>> means if you are a bit lucky you could get the Giga Health stat on it
(He used an Tricera which drag weight is REALLY low, becouse of this his Rhyo will be REALLY bad)
•No the crafings are NOT potentialy everthing, there's an list to that in the ARK Wiki
•If you're confused why you don't have an Net louncher, he didn't said it but its DLC ONLY, so you should figure out an Trap and try it with that.
i start (like the 9 time) a solo adveture to do all the story maps in order, but to do so, i start in crystal isles for the dino taming and then transfer to the islanda what i need. But this change everything, now i want one of this thing in my life!
I didn't see it in the comments or hear it in the video, but the wild males have the pheromones and the wild females plant the eggs. Kinda self explanatory, but just in case.
From what I understand, the stats of the offspring depend on the stats of the sacrifice. Also I tried feeding pheromones to a boss tek rex and it wouldn't take, so it doesn't seem like tek dinos can be used to incubate.

Thank you Phlinger for all the great ARK content through out the years. Now this being the last Dino to be added is truly a sad happy 🥲 moment after being on this incredible journey with you and the army. Yeah, this level pica is something else. I’ve heard of pregnant women craving things like clay, dirt, sand, paper, and even chalk, but this is ridiculous. A herbivore trike craving meat, soups, eggs, and even element and gasoline?

@@samljer When it comes to ARK, it seems nothing is impossible.
As cool as this guy is, it feels like it makes every other flyer obsolete. It carries more than quetz whole being faster, it has the multiple person saddle like tape tapejara, coasts on the surface like pelagornis, and can even swim on top of all that. And that's not even getting into the projectiles and damage reduction. Why would you ever use anything else?
If you want to fly before lvl90 you need the others ^_^
It looks like it’d be an absolute nightmare on pvp too.
Its also giga rare, cancer to get a good one considering cravings, costs sap, and only spawns the island and trashy lost island

first time playing since like, when abberation was released. was flying through the swamp trees at night, the fog was so thick I couldn't see 2 feet in front of me. suddenly i kiss this thing. Terrify, but probably not in the top 10 scariest things that have happened in the swamp

Nah I came back to ark after a couple years and was flying over the swamp with my new 150 tamed ptera and heard something weird. Went back to check it out and that ugly thing came for me and I couldn’t outrun it with a ptera wth? My poor boy died, the bug was also 145, could’ve killed it if it was low but no :(
The ptera was faster but that demon didnt lose aggro and my stamina ran out
It can pick up rexes, spinos mammoths it's crazy has a fear roar that can make rexes and spinos and wyverns run away
Pretty funny how a netgun-able creature can carry non netgun-able creatures
Also it’s so sad they only spawn on 2 maps, when they easily could’ve gone to them all
Right?! I wanted them on Fjordur so badly. The swamp island is so fitting for them
@@nfizq I am very mad I can’t get them on my gen 2 world. They could’ve easily spawn in Rockwell garden or Rockwell innards on that map. Also, an R-rhynio would look awesome.
@@MrFishio If you’re on pc, the mod simple spawners is handy for situations like these
@@nfizq I use Xbox edition (bc game pass makes ark free) so I can’t use mods. It’s very sad. Plus I like vanilla ark most.
I used a spino to get impregnated, it asked for shadow steak, no prob, then a black pearl, no prob, then it asked for gasoline. You can't put gas in the hot bar... How is that supposed to work? It popped out a few seconds later so.. Also have a daeodon ready and full of food.
Can you get female baby rhyniognatha or just males like the reapers?

When the Dino is pregnant with the egg do I have to satisfy its craving or will it not tame I want to tame one but with the craving being so random I dont know if I could even 😓

When syntac did it, the stats are determined by the same standards as breading, random. Also the bigger the weight of the creature, the higher the level of the rynognatha. The more u complete the cravings, the more stats from the sacrificed creature will be on the baby

It’s there but has the rarity of a unicorn . It’s suspected to share specialized spawns with meganeura and leeches .

Can you breed them ?
No, and to be honest you don’t really need to. They adopt the stats of the surrogate parent. If you have a bred line of gigas/carchas or brontos it will pop with the same base stats of them. So if you have 1k melee gigas your rhynio will pop with 1k melee

It's possible sure, but not through correctly mutating... Those are false mutations compounded by contaminating your breed line with mutations on both sides causing them to increase exponentially without any real benefits

bro those thing are garbage lol to slow and even with the sht it can do you still can get picked then it gets kited to its death or someone just kills it, not worth the bother, i mean if you are pve then yeah there fun to mess with but pvp its getting clapped, at least on officials it does a good ascended sniper will kill that thing quick. im not talking about that boosted to hell stats crap, real pvp. you can make a dodo kill rexes on those boosted bullst pussy servers
