Really great broadcast. Thank you for this. I'll be 69 this year. My husband passed last Feb. We were going to sell our 2.3 acres in WA state that has large home and 3 outbuildings on it. It got to be too much for just me to take care of. We had decided that we were going to sell the place and get an RV and travel and live on the road. So I knew I still had to do that. I'm currently living in my sons driveway in CA while I finish out my renovation of my RV. I love it so much. I can't wait to get out on the road. I currently have my home rented out to friends with 4 small children who were almost on the street, so I let them rent it for hardly anything. I know the place is being taken care of. The guy did a whole bathroom redo because there was a leaky pipe. I'm so blessed they are such great people. You make me want to get out on the road now! lol. Hope to meet you ladies out on the road at some point. I'll be heading to Quartzsite as soon as I can but probably still 2-3 months before that can happen. I'm so sorry for your loss but so happy the nomad community will benefit from your gracious presence in it!!! I honestly do not recommend Quartzsite as a destination. It is not pretty or easy to be here! Every January we gather for the RTR because it's a great way of meeting with friends and plan the next adventure... just that. Be sure to have your r v inspected by a professional. It helps a lot. There's still things that could possibly go wrong but let you know I had a time even with a new one. Some of the issues and get it fixed before you take it home. Remember , you have to go and check the roof regularly , so make sure you're able to do that.

Cindy and her van are cute and fun. I'm 73 and I've always had thin fine hair with no body. So with age and thyroid problems it has become thinner. Than Covid happened and it became thinner still with a bald spot. I've been tempted to go to wigs. I blow it dry and spray it and work with until it looks decent but it's a real problem. I would never have guessed Cindy had a wig on.

I have a question, how well does your propane heater, heat your van? I'm assuming the you have a curtain that separates the cab from the back. Also how long will a can of propane last?
@cindybell3694 The Mr Buddy heater warms up my van very quickly, and I never keep it on longer than needed to get the chill out. One green 1lb can, can last about a week if only turned on for roughly 15 minutes every morning. I never really determined exactly how long though. Yes, I have a blackout curtain separating the cab. Very good question!
She has a metal frame and she tied it up to the ribs of the van with the strongest zip ties in the market putting several of them together at many spots. That way the weight is distributed between all of them. MANY of them! And she inspects them regularly to make sure she doesn't need to replace them. It is not the regular zip ties, these are really thick. Hope it helps! 😊🤗🥰

I had moth balls, and I could not sleep with the smell. Even the peppermint tends to annoy and disrupt my sleep. I need to put up with one or the other, I chose the pure peppermint. 😊🙋♀️
Love the tour of the van. Gorgeous! I did have a question about being level. What do you do if you are parked and you are not level? And dong have those levellers for under the wheels to re park your car etc.
In my case, two and a half years in a minivan and now in a full size van, I never needed levelers. I didn't want to have them either. If it rains they get muddy and then you have to put them back in... to me it sounded like more work. So I tried without and I learned that you just move a little bit right or left or back and forth and you feel you are leveled. I use the bubble app for confirmation but I'm used to noticing and it never fails! 😊🤗🥰
Exactly! I know people who love them. You will become an expert at finding your perfect position. In the worst of cases you can always get them later! The less you carry with you the easier your life will be. It’s better to pay for gym membership to take a bath. It’s available on most cities rather than paying for $17 for one time shower. Stay safe and healthy ladies😊
You are right except for the fact that there's no gym in quartzsite and you spend a lot of time and money to go to the gym in Yuma. That's why he takes advantage of people.
You might want to try becoming a member of planet fitness or another health club. Because for a month it's something like I don't know 20. Dollars and you can shower there then for free.
I used to have their 24$ membership but I got tied off paying for only 2 or 3 showers a month. Which makes each shower 8 to 10$. There are many towns where there are no planet fitness. But, in all towns there are community centers and they give you a day pass for 5 or 6$. Aquatic centers too. And if I bath in my van I only use 1 gallon of water for hair and body at about 25 cents for the gallon! I will make a video of how I bathe in my van! 😊🤗🥰
I used to have a planet fitness membership, $24 a month. But there are a lot of towns where there's no planet fitness so I was paying for nothing. I sometimes use community centers or aquatic centers day passes (usually $5) for the whole day and you can use the swimming pool but again, they are not everywhere. I take baths in my van but that day I wanted a hot shower and I paid for a burning/ freezing experience. Bad business. Thank you for your comment! 🤗🤗🤗
I didn't know about it until a rat ate through our PVC pipe under our kitchen sink , I was shocked it would do that , my husband mentioned it to a friend of his and he told us about using tinfoil and I thought that's crazy , but we tried it and it's been three years and we had a few rats come in a couple of months ago and they never touched it and we soon killed them , so I'm convinced the only thing is that now I worry about it rats won't go near it or eat through it should I be using it ?

How did you fasten your fridg & the cabinet to stay
The cabinet has brackets fastened to the ribs of the van. The fridge sits snuggly in that, and I fastened a strap to hold it in. 😊🙋♀️

The Mr Buddy heater warms up my van very quickly, and I never keep it on longer than needed to get the chill out. One green 1lb can, can last about a week if only turned on for roughly 15 minutes every morning. I never really determined exactly how long though. Yes, I have a blackout curtain separating the cab. Very good question!

How do you support your bed with zip ties!
She has a metal frame and she tied it up to the ribs of the van with the strongest zip ties in the market putting several of them together at many spots. That way the weight is distributed between all of them. MANY of them! And she inspects them regularly to make sure she doesn't need to replace them. It is not the regular zip ties, these are really thick.

I had moth balls, and I could not sleep with the smell. Even the peppermint tends to annoy and disrupt my sleep. I need to put up with one or the other, I chose the pure peppermint. 😊🙋♀️
Moth balls are over-powering to me. I use peppermint essential oils, mice stay away!
Love the tour of the van. Gorgeous! I did have a question about being level. What do you do if you are parked and you are not level? And dong have those levellers for under the wheels to re park your car etc.
I just try to move the van in the "most" level area. A little off won't be much trouble. It's when you start sliding in bed that it gets annoying. 😳
In my case, two and a half years in a minivan and now in a full size van, I never needed levelers. I didn't want to have them either. If it rains they get muddy and then you have to put them back in... to me it sounded like more work. So I tried without and I learned that you just move a little bit right or left or back and forth and you feel you are leveled. I use the bubble app for confirmation but I'm used to noticing and it never fails! 😊🤗🥰

Exactly! I know people who love them. You will become an expert at finding your perfect position. In the worst of cases you can always get them later! The less you carry with you the easier your life will be. You might want to try becoming a member of planet fitness or another health club.
Because for a month it's something like I don't know 20.
Dollars and you can shower there then for free.
I used to have their 24$ membership but I got tied off paying for only 2 or 3 showers a month. Which makes each shower 8 to 10$. There are many towns where there are no planet fitness. But, in all towns there are community centers and they give you a day pass for 5 or 6$. Aquatic centers too. And if I bath in my van I only use 1 gallon of water for hair and body at about 25 cents for the gallon!

I used to have a planet fitness membership, $24 a month. But there are a lot of towns where there's no planet fitness so I was paying for nothing. I sometimes use community centers or aquatic centers day passes (usually $5) for the whole day and you can use the swimming pool but again, they are not everywhere. I take baths in my van but that day I wanted a hot shower and I paid for a burning/ freezing experience. Bad business. Thank you for your comment! 🤗🤗🤗

I didn't know about it until a rat ate through our PVC pipe under our kitchen sink , I was shocked it would do that , my husband mentioned it to a friend of his and he told us about using tinfoil and I thought that's crazy , but we tried it and it's been three years and we had a few rats come in a couple of months ago and they never touched it and we soon killed them , so I'm convinced the only thing is that now I worry about it rats won't go near it or eat through it should I be using it ?
