I took my 2019 Raptor through these passes in 2023 along with several other in that area. It is a beautiful area and I can see why people fall in love and want to go back.

Might as well use them for what they are built for! Love to hear it. Happy wheeling!

Back in the early 2000's, or maybe it was the late 90's, I saw a similar rolled vehicle to the Jeep situation you all came across here. It was three or four times as far a drop down hill to where it levelled off near the lower tree line, and nearly twice as steep, going over Guardsman's Pass following a foggy, rainy summer night from the backside of Park City Mountain up at the top of the Big Cottonwood Canyon down into Midway Utah in the Heber Valley the next valley over. It was an unpaved, narrow mountain pass that still closes every winter. We drove by the next morning while they had a long wire cable going down from above pulling the flattened vehicle slowly back up to the road. The young drivers in that vehicle were sadly not so lucky. No matter how good the vehicle is off road, or how good we think we are as drivers, we still have to make smart decisions when we drive.

oh man that's certainly a sad situation. There is an inherit risk to what we do. Like you said, its important we know what we can handle and what the vehicle is capable of and not push out luck. These people were fortunate to come away unharmed. Not everyone is that lucky.

Cool video. If you guys get back out to Moab, hit up the Schafer trail. Phenomenal couple of hours in the raptor.

Nice climb and cool views! Quick accessory question. What tonneau cover do you have on your Raptor?

Love the look of this truck, including that extra width, both for look and lateral stability. A question though. Have you all noticed experiencing any challenges because of that extra width, on or off road? I think I remember the Raptor is 5" wider than a regular F150. Thanks. I wish I could get the fully loaded raptor but with the extra luxurious, massaging, reclining, leather seats of the Platinum instead of the normal raptor seats, which I understand aren't bad just not as luxurious as those on the Platinum. I wonder if that's possible, or instead, if I could get a fully loaded Platinum, but made to look more like the raptor, say levelled and raised, better all terrain tires, maybe Ridge Grapplers, offset the wheels and get fenders to extend out further side to side to cover the extra width of the tires but wider fenders without showing the bolts, and all black? I'm a lot older these days so the raptor is likely overkill for me, and I do love the blacked out Platinum, but dang, I want a Raptor! 🙂

Thanks for watching! It's a sweet truck for sure. I'd say the width isn't super noticeable if your used to driving larger vehicles in general. Offroad the wheel base is more noticeable than the width coming from guys who are used to jeeps and 4runners. I mean I wouldn't want to take it on any real tight heavily wooded trails, but more open "overlandy" stuff its great. On the highway it's not a big deal. Maybe a bit noticeable if you do a lot of city driving but I can't really attest to that. The raptor is a very comfortable truck though for being more offroad oriented. I'm sure for the right price you could have someone customize a platinum for ya with all the specs you want. A Tremor package might be another option to look into if you don't want to go all out on the raptor, but still be a bit more offroad capable. I personally, think they look pretty sweet especially the f250s.

@@FishingHoller I thought about the Tremor, it is 1" wider than normal, it also apparently has springs at one end with the regular leaf struts on the other end. I love the smooth ride of the springs at both ends on the Raptor. The Platinum is just leaf struts both ends, though apparently there is a top of the line lift kit that will add springs, will look into that if I go the Platinum route. Thanks for the reply. Wish I was still young like you guys what with these great trucks they have these days. Pretty cool.

@@apexresidences6815 Absolutely! We are fortunate to have such great options, but it can make the choice difficult haha. Hope whatever you land on serves you well!
