I always laugh about the "I have to know the pink or blue" part. It reminds me of how ridiculous it is that people get different clothes, toys, etc. for a baby just because of what genitals it has. Babies don't know the difference. It's really only to make it grow up to follow dumb rules about gender.
My mom would actually wear blue all the time and then tell me "you're a girl, wear pink." and I would say but you wear blue and she would be like "yeah but I'm old no one cares. you go to school and if you don't wear pink people will think badly of me." I'm transgender, and in my house that's the only way to act like the man I am. *Not to say that I'm only trans so that I can wear blue, it's deeper than that, obviously.
i was called "sir" twice this week, and i used to think that it was horrible when people thought i'm a guy, but ever since i heared this song for the first time, i just have a laugh and carry on living :) thanks for that dani ;)
People are unfamiliar with terms like "genderfluid" and "pansexual". I dont know why people are so determined to place themselves and everyone else into labeled jars. My friend showed me her videos and I've been listening to her songs since then. Dani Shay inspires me to be comfortable with myself especially this song. I am a lesbian girl who often dresses boyish and i love wrestling, play fighting and playing football and other things that are considered 'guy things', i am often teased about this and left out of 'guy games' because I am a girl. I don't understand what my gender has to do with playing a game of football or wrestling or doing any of the other things that are considered to be 'guy things' because I can run faster that most of the guys i've met, I have never once gone down from a simple tackle from any if the guys ( it usually takes three or four of them but by then i've already gotten a touchdown dragging whoever tried to tackle me ) although i can not throw to save my life but i'm working on it. There is no such thing as 'guy games' and 'girl games' except in school, you can't really argue with them.
