FL Studios render engine is inconsistent. I used it for a while and it would output the vst audio very inconsistently. Abletons output is always perfect and the sample/wav engine is just incredible. Ableton is written in C++ which is the closest you can get to machine code and that’s why it runs so well. FL Studio is written in Delphi.
as cool as ableton is with working with VST / AU / plugins and samples.. its probably the lowest powered DAW when working with actual Midi hardware external gear... Logic is and always will be king.. they even re-wrote the Unitor8 midi driver written in 1992 with one in 2022 that worked with M powered macs... ableton has a tough if not impossible time dealing with sysex and they've offloaded a ton of that to max 4 live... but its just not enough for me when I have 20 hardware synths / keyboards... I need the power Logic has with midi and external gear.
Everyone eventually leaves FL Studio and other DAWs and goes with Ableton. I don’t understand why everyone thinks protools is the ultimate answer. Ableton has become the defacto standard and has displaced protools. Ableton is mow the industry standard.
"Everything is up to Pro Tools", very few producers use Pro Tools of the millions that exist. Those that do, work with studios and have the money and luxury for assistants. But 90% of famous artists use Logic / Ableton / FL / or Cubase.
Welcome to Abelton family
You rock!
Congrats! Dont forget the max for live plugs.. very powerful tools that only exists for ableton. Example check out the Fors opal 😊
Congrats on getting into Berkley man
