How about Sam(antha) from I Am Legend? Doggo deaths are always tragic due to how inherently noble most canines tend to be. So, to see Will Smith’s expression as he slowly mercy-kills the last remaining member of his family was way too much of a gut-punch. Tears were flowing from every corner of the theatre.
The death of the grandfather in Little Miss Sunshine was unexpected and sad. It would have been wonderful if, after the family foray to California, they could've piled into the microbus for a trip back to the hospital to get Grandpa.

Doggo deaths are always tragic due to how inherently noble most canines tend to be. So, to see Will Smith’s expression as he slowly mercy-kills the last remaining member of his family was way too much of a gut-punch. Tears were flowing from every corner of the theatre.
